Yes Dimash can speak Russian and Kazakh fluently.he is doing real well in English now. But he says Chinese is very hard.(Mandarin) The last note of this song is about 20 seconds. This show is where Igor krutoy first hears Dimash and after that the rest is history.He is the man in the white shirt on the first row that is shown at the end.thank you for your reaction to Dimash.😊

The most beautiful, truly soulful song is Ikanaide [Please Don't Go] from the Tokoyo Jazz Festival. It is an example of perfect technique and amazin, emotional singing. You only have to know those words of the title in English, to feel the pain and anguish of his singing. Then you can just watch and marvel at the master at work. My favourite piece. It is so perfect.

Dimash does soulful a lot. I love this song so much. Please check out Ikanaide from the Tokyo Jazz festival 2021, it's so beautiful & very soulful. Dimash says the most important part of his performances is conveying the feeling & emotion in a song, that's more important than his vocal skill & range & he is superb at doing that. Dimash actually sings in 14 languages, which is another amazing skill he has. Thank you for another great reaction 😊🙏💞

The USSR released 16 Republics from their control in 1991. Dimash was born in 1994 and his family thought it wise that he be fluent in both Kazak and Russian. In Kazakhstan, there is an ancient tradition of giving the first-born son to one set of grandparents to raise until age 10. Dimash was the first born and first born son and his parents gave him to his paternal grandparents to raise those first ten years at which time, all of the family moved in together. His "Papa"-Grandfather died spring of 2023 very close to the same time Dimash became Dr. Qudaibergen (Ph.D.). I cannot tell you the deep love Dimash had/has for his grandfather and grandmother and of course his parents (whom he knew as aunt and uncle) until his teacher announced Sveta as his mother. Dimash went up to his teacher to correct her, so his family had to tell him the truth. The family is Muslim, but bear little religious resemblance to Middle Eastern Islam. He moved to the US after his Ph.D. to study at the LA campus of the NY School of Fine Arts studying Film Directing. It was during this time that his Papa died. Many of the Kazaks are Eurasian and it shows in his family. Dimash is 6'3", a good bit taller than the average Asian.

Everyone really needs to understand how difficult those "restrained" "soulful" notes are to maintain - they are AS difficult and AS jaw-dropping as Dimash's belting out high and long notes....Besides, if you read the lyrics Dimash is spot on with the breathy,, soft notes in the beginning and he builds up the emotion in his range in accordance to the lyrics .... If you listen to Ikanaide 80% is airy, breathy, super-controlled and the emotion portrayed is as is required from the lyrics ..... and then the build-up...., I LOVE Dimash's soft and tender vocal range....it is exquisite.☮❤Sea Point, Cape Town
You know, if you want to see another side, Dimash has a duet with Placido Domingo, He sings in a trio with one of the singers being Lara Fabian… There are many many more on his official channel.😊
Songs that do not have the spectacular vocal gymnastics (which we love) but are ballads that are absolutely gorgeous and still vocally intricate and stunning to hear: Mahabbat Ber Magan (Give Me Love in Kazakh) any version but the 2021 Dimash Digital Show version is superb, If I Never Breathe Again (English any version), Couldn't Leave (English official MV for a Chinese tv series), A Thousand Miles A Common Dream (Mandarin solo version), Akkyum (My Swan in Kazakh)(official MV is gorgeous), Qairan Elin (My Holy Land in Kazakh any version is wonderful but the MV is stunning and Dimash co-directed the MV), Amanat (Kazakh), Only You (Mandarin), Moonlight Mama (Mandarin). There are more but this is a good start.

На концертах он всегда общается с публикой в зависимости от места проведения концерта .На Родине на казахском,в странах бывшего Союза на русском, в Европе,Китае,Турции на английском. You havent seen a lot of anything, you've only just started with this fantastic singer. Try Passione, Love is Like a Dream, Ikanaide, Screaming MV, Marigolds from Kiev concert, if I Never Breathe Again, from any concert, Leyla and Jamaica from Bastau. All of The Singer competition in China, 2017, where you can get the backstory to some songs BEFORE you listen them. There is a reason for it.. Also play everything to the end, when he speaks, you will hear his voice. Sometimes in English, sometimes in Qazaq. He always thanks his fans, and his family, if they are present, plus pple like Igor Krutoy. You should see The Ultimate Guide to Dimash, (12) by LiLaSi, they are really well done❤, if you want to know and better understand this extremely talented and humble young man.
I was also going to mention watching to the end. I've noticed with his reactions he stops the videos as soon as the song is finished which means he won't get the understand the man behind the artist. Watching the full video is what gives Dimash views recognition.

Krutoy is not a pianist, he's a composer. He can play the piano of course, but he's not a professional pianist and often just mimics playing to a prerecorded track.
The traditional Kazakh songs Dimash sings are typically more emotional and heartfelt; they don't usually have a lot of the flashy acrobatics that hit you in the face the first few times you hear Dimash. You might enjoy the vocalise Ascolta la Voce (which means Listen to the Voice)--it has no words (I mean, that is what a vocalise is); it is entirely made up of riffs, so to speak. Every performance he does of the piece is a little different (that is a hallmark of Dimash--he adds little bits and pieces to a song each time he performs it) but they are all good. I probably like the New York version the best, but everyone has their own favorite.

Ex Soviet republics (Kazahstan was among them) know rusian even now as well (specally older generations - and their culture is living in a big family - parents, grandparents very conected, so it is logic) - beside their own native language. Dimash was born near the Kazakhstan-russian border, where rusian is still quite common. Not to mention people with good pitch can learn languages easily 😉

The part starting just before he starts jumping up and down and ending after the runs was 23 sec. on 1 breath. If you watch him speak after the song with the subtitles on, you will get an idea of Dimash the person.
If you liked this soulful side of Dimash, I highly recommend Love Is Like A Dream. It has a tender introduction, and angelic interlude, and a big finish that's second to none.
His hometown of Aktobe is very near the Russian border. I believe most people in Qazakstan speak Russian more than the native Qazakh. But he loves the Qazakh language and sings many honoring it.

For those who like information about Dimas' songs: Sinful Passion - The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. Moreover, in the final part he added, with an oriental technique (from the Kazakhstan region). Sir, Dimash and his countrymen grew up with Russian and Kazakhstan as their 1st and 2nd languages. Same as my country where we are required to speak at least 3 languages in order to secure a job. We need to know our national language, English and Chinese.

Sinful love soon visibly materialized in the clip with soloist Batyrkhan Shukenov. The talented vocalist left the band in 2000. Without the lead singer, “Sinful Passion”, recorded with the help of an English producer, lay in obscurity for nearly 20 years, never becoming a worldwide hit until Baigali Serkebaev seized it. One of my favourite songs from Dimash, which shows no vocal acrobatics, but is heartbreaking, is Quaragym-ai. He sings it in an empty theatre with just a pianist. They are paying homage to their beloved college professor who died from covid. The professor wrote the song. Dimash finds it hard to get through the song as he is so sad,
