You don't know bad sequels until one is so bad it makes you embarrassed for being a fan of the series, the character, or even the company that made it. If my child asks, Bulletstorm was the real Duke Nukem Forever, and the thing dirtying my Xbox library is a fangame some hackers snuck into the store.

Max Payne 3 is very good, and has aged better than part 1 and 2 IMO. I'm not taking anything away from the first 2, but I really enjoy all 3 and can't wait for the remakes!

Max Payne 3 is such a gem for me because of how lost it truly felt. I think the gritty end to things was nice, it did fall off a bit but definitely my favorite of the three 🙏🏼

Some great picks by the whole crew. I don't know which game I would pick because I've managed to avoid the most flawed games in series that I love. The perks of not being able to afford to buy games on day one.
To clarify, I've definitely bought and rented games that were disappointing. They just weren't from a series that I love.

My buddy Tylord loves that SF The Movie game. 😂 How does Belmont really feel about that Castlevania entry? 😂 I’ve heard about that Banjo game being trash. Never played the OG myself. Man SOF3 gets a lot of hate. I played through the Japanese version and had a lot of fun but it’s definitely not SOF2, which I think is the best. And yes, the music sucks compared to 2. I watched my pal Omega Ace play that X7 game. Looked terrible. 😂 Yeah I remember Dead Rising 4 felt a little off compared to the previous installments. Great stuff, Super Retro Force!
Sor3 definitely gets a lot of hate. It's not a terrible game overall, it's just a huge disappointment coming off the heels of the greatness that was sor2! I'm editing a video elaborating more as to why I disliked this the most out of the series. I wanted to make sure I didn't go on for too long for this video! Y's V kefin right I have always heard was that ONE GAME in the y's series. Even my friends had problems so it makes me want to talk about it and play it one day. Los2 and mmx7 are no brainers for me, sor3 I have also heard that it's the weakest of the genesis games. Interesting video.

I had a few more points to make on sor 3, but tried to not do a lecture hahaha. That's what I'm planning on my channel. But yes, sor 3 had all the potential in the world to be great after the second one, and it was a huge disappointment overall.
I definitely agree with JonMcBon's take on Max Payne 3. Good gameplay, let down by the worst story and writing of the series bar none. I'd happily recommend it, but I hate its utter guts because of its writing and story. Max Payne and Man on Fire just do not mix, to be honest. As for my bad game from my favourite franchise... Resident Evil Village. Yes. Really. Same reason as to why Max Payne 3 is the weakest of that series: good gameplay ruined by what is objectively, the worst story of the mainline Resident Evil franchise, a story so bad it renders all of the characters' accomplishments all for naught just to make Alice a reality in the games. Not to mention the worst monster in the series, Lady Dimitrescu (I'm serious, give me Nemesis and the Bakers over Dimitrescu any day of the week).
These were some interesting choices, that's for sure. Excellent video!
As a huge Double Dragon fan, I was humongously disappointed in Double Dragon II: Wander of the Dragons for the X-Box 360. Only downloadable, it was a horrible remake of Double Dragon II: The Revenge with clunky controls, ugly visuals, a stamina meter for the Lees to use their special techniques and in order to get the 'best' ending, you have to beat the game without using the special technique! And on top of that, it not only ranks as the worst remake, but also the worst game in general to me as well.
Well now we know to avoid that game! Thank you!!

Excellent collab, guys! Regarding Shinky’s entry for Ys 5, I’d respectfully disagree, as I’ve played all of the series, including a couple entries that aren’t so good. I’d actually argue that Ys 4: Mask of the Sun is a worse entry due to lackluster combat and a worse storyline (Dawn of Ys on PC Engine was better). Worse than all of these is Ys 3: Wanderers from Ys. The soundtrack is BANGING…but everything else, especially the combat and gameplay were awful.
I’ll be honest, I haven’t played the original releases, I’ve only played the latest releases of each game in the series. (Memories of Celceta, Oath in Felghana, Ys 1 and 2 chronicles, etc.) I do want to play the originals at some point though

Awesome collab form the SRF crew! Street Fighter the Movie was nothing but a cash grab across the board. Seriously shows in the game because of how little effort they put into a game that could have been a hit. Absolutely love the first two SOR games but I have never had the pleasure to check out Streets of Rage III. I guess it’s probably on my retro pi so I should look.😂 I think Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts could have had more success if they hadn’t made it a Banjo Kazooie game. 🤷♂️

Here are mine: Street Fighter, my favorite series - I'd say the first one. Everything starts somewhere, but what a rough start. If we're talking about bad in the age of competence, I'd say SF5. It just never clicked for me. Mega Man - Probably Mega Man Soccer, Megaman X5-8, and Mega Man & Bass. Mario - Mario Is Missing and Mario's Time Machine. Hotel Mario is more playable than those. Kirby - Any of the touchscreen games like Canvas Curse, bleh. Hmmm...that's all I got for now, there are def tons more bad games in good series, but none that really bug me like the above to.

Worse games from some other franchises (imo) Batman Arkham - *Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate.* I haven't played Kill The Justice League, but even that game has it's fans. I see zero Origins Blackgate fans Hitman - *Hitman: Codename 47.* Absolution may be a worse "Hitman-type" game, but at least it's more than somewhat kinda playable. The Escapists - *The Survivalists.* What should we do with this franchise that revolves around careful planning, time management, risk-taking and escaping? Turn it into a generic top-down survival game that bares nothing of the source material other than name alone and that's it. Like come on, at least The Escapists: The Walking Dead tried to emulate the original gameplay style. This is what killed the damn franchise. Plants Vs Zombies - *Plants Vs Zombies 3.* What if PvZ was a Gardenscapes clone. This game isn't even properly out yet, just softlaunched in a few select countries and fuck is it terrible. Warioware - *Game and Wario.* The only thing anyone ever remembers this game for is the "Gamer" mode, because it's the only thing that slightly resembled Warioware. Everything else is just garbage filler. Metroid - *Metroid: Other M.* How to assassinate a character in 5 minutes or less! Combine that with a shit story alongside mediocre gameplay that tries to be a blend of 2D and 3D Metroid (doing only somewhat okay in both departments) and you got yourself a shitstorm.

I always wanted to check out Street Fighter the Arcade game but the reviews were always bad. It's one of those things it's so bad you want to try it to see how bad it is lol. I liked Dead raising 4 😛! Guess, it goes to show to each their own.

Good stuff guys! Mine would probably be resident evil 6. 1 through 4 , and code Veronica are all great. I can even enjoy 5 if I completely ignore that it's a resident evil game and just enjoy the game play, but 6 was just awful.

Gonna stand up for Nuts & Bolts, it's genuinely a great game with gorgeous visuals, hilarious writing, and more creativity and ambition than anything in the originals. OG Banjo Kazooie was largely just a funny Mario ripoff, and Nut & Bolts is easily the best in the series.

:) thanks chemster, I love to hear other people's thoughts on Nuts & Bolts. I agree, it's not a terrible game these days just was a let down at the time when it was announced. For me personally, I think the original is way more than a ripoff of any other game, its incredibly creative in so many ways and has some of the best level design from those days. I definitely can see that it took inspiration from SM64 but im not sure you could really avoid the comparisons since SM64 was so good and so popular.

I would recommend playing the Japanese version of Streets of Rage 3, known as Bare Knuckle 3, sometime, it's the version I played and had a great time with it.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is by far my favorite series. Every game Neversoft made in the series was awsome, the remaster was awesome and some of the ports were very good. I pick THPS5 as the worst of the franchise. They made a broken joke of a game and slapped "THPS5" on to it like it was a return to form to trick people. I feel Dead Rising 4. Dead Rising is another favorite franchise to mine and I hated Dead Rising 4.

For me, one of my biggest gaming letdowns in recent years was Bayonetta 3. Bayonetta 2 is one of my all-time favorite games, so I was eagerly anticipating its follow-up. I even pre-ordered the special edition of 3. Concerning the gameplay, most of the core features are in the third game, and they are just as fun as the first two. However, new features are weak, and some like the summons even undo strategic elements that were present in the first two games. Other features like the puzzle mechanics were shallow and didn't really add anything for me besides slowing down the game’s pacing. Moreover, there was way too much happening on screen at times to the point where I couldn't tell what was going on. The graphics actually looked worse than the previous game because the lighting was too static and they tried to implement real-time cutscenes, even though pre-rendered would have been way better. The game already pushes the Switch to its limits and it cannot handle some of those implementations. I would have preferred a better looking game with smaller environments instead of the big empty ones we got. The worst offender, however, is the story. It's all over the place and the ending is one of the worst I have seen in a beloved videogame franchise. Kamiya promised to make things right in a follow-up game, but now that he left Platinum we will probably never see it. Overall, the game is a step back in just about every way. It was a lousy send-off to what was otherwise two phenomenal action games that preceded it.

@@SuperRetroForce At a discount, I would say it's worth trying. I feel like a lot of casual fans would still enjoy it. I just think putting it side by side with the first two games, it doesn't hold up. And I replayed 1 & 2 right before 3 came out.
For me it's Shantae Half-Genie Hero. It just lacked the charm of the previous games and felt so bland.

Streets of rage 3 could have been the best if it wasn't so goddamn hard. Now the Japanese version is great bare knuckle 3.I played it off the SEGA collection on 360. I didn't even know about the star rank until I played BK3! And that soundtrack Debatable. Shinobi revrese is OP!

Sor 3 difficulty did go up from sor2, and it certainly had all the potential to be so good coming off the second ones success!
for me, my worst game in a series is Breath of the Wild. I couldn't get into it, usually I can't put down zelda games but this one just wasn't zelda enough for me I never finished it nor wanted to.
