EVERYTHING You Need to Know About BATH BOMBS!!!
Everything you need to know about bath bombs!!! You don’t have to do everything in the video in order to make a good bath bomb; I just wanted to show you how I learned. Trial & error is the best way! Especially since bath bombs are extremely sensitive to external factors (temperature, humidity). Recipes that work great for me, may not work for you at all. It's best to make bombs in a temperature and humidity-controlled room. The best humidity level = 35-40%... But I rarely see this in Louisiana. So for me, in humidity under 55% - I make bath bombs! (I make them anyways to tell you the truth!) Purchase a dehumidifier if you can; it’ll help for sure! Since making this tutorial, I purchased a really big dehumidifier & it works triple what the other little ones do combined. Never make bombs on rainy days, no matter what! Adjust & personalize Recipe FOR YOU: 99% of recipes have oil; first thing I did was take this out! Adjust recipes, but keep wet & dry ratios balanced! For me it's 1 teaspoon of wet per 5 ounces of dry. Gain Experience with experiments: keep detailed notes (linked). Perform experiments with different ingredients: Learn which ingredients cause which reactions, which ones work best together. Making bomb: The poly 80 helps oils & powder disperse evenly in water. It also acts as a buffer, slowing down reactions (so your bomb doesn't blow all of its fizz in 30 seconds). TIPS & TRICKS: If your bombs don’t float, remember drying time depends on several factors & varies greatly * It may take 30-60 days to fully dry (where they float). WHOLESALE SHOPPING: I currently use Wholesalesuppliesplus to buy my dry ingredients in bulk. They’re the cheapest that I've found yet! For fragrance oils I use theflamingcandlecompany, candlescience, Lonestarcandlecompany, naturesgarden, & rusticescentuals. Set up shop & start selling your bombs at Etsy, Weebly, Shopify, &/or Wix!

Thank you so much for sharing all of your knowledge, my five year old daughter is obsessed with bath bombs and thinking about starting her a small business
You’re welcome! Great idea!
Thank you so much for your valuable information! I live in CA and the humidity level is WAY lower than LA! Bath bombs are more tempermental to make than most realize...until they try to make their own lol I love the experiment sheets! Thank you again!
You’re so welcome! Yep, temperamental, finicky, tricky little bastards! 😂
Wow, I'm impressed! I also live in South Louisiana and just tried this out, and it looks great so far. I just molded 3 perfect-looking bath bombs and only had a tiny bit leftover! I was suspicious at first because the mix looked too dry, but it worked like a charm. I've never had such an easy time molding. Thanks!
Awesome!
Oh my gosh I make bathbombs. I live in Colorado and totally applaud the fact you could make Bathbombs in such a humid place like Louisiana. I bet you have one amazing dehumidifier!
I do, it's awesome!

Gracias, por poner sus videos con subtitulo en Español. Me encantan las bombas de baños, gracias 😍
deberia estar en español!
Thank you so much I live in Louisiana and the humidity has made it difficult to learn
Humidity does play a small role... But, make no mistake about it- bath bombs are tricky little bastards! lol
Thank you so much. This video is the bomb
My pleasure! 😉
Thank you for this video! I teach a high school entrepreneurship class where the kids sell wellness products. Today they decided they want to add bath bombs to their product line! I'm very excited and nervous. I'm looking forward to trying out the methods you use with the kids.
Oh great! I hope it helps!
Hey! Love your videos so much! In this video, you mentioned that you must always add mica powder to wet ingredients, and then you also added color powder to the batch when you divided it to create different colors. This sort of confused me. Can you elaborate on that?
Your videos are so helpful! Your amazing and I love watching your videos! I'd love if you could share the template for the notes! Thank you for all the inspiration and information Dora. I'm looking forward to your next amazing creation!
Thanks so much. Yep got ya covered thank you for reminding me. Ill link it tomorrow!

Hi! Can you tell me please, where you buy that color powder in bags?
You are amazing!! I have been using your recipe and its been great. But recently my bath bombs dry and they have white spots all over? Only thing I can think it I'm separating the mixture then adding some water soluable dye drops in and mixing well. Its a bit disheartening 😔
I know this is a Old post, but I’m switching from Candle / Melts Maker to a Bath Product Maker - iv made BB before so I know a few tricks like adding Citric acid last. I was wondering have you used Natrosorb in any of your bath products - I was going to use to make milk bath mix but was wondering to that maybe I could use it in bath bomb sand
Ohhh thank you so much for share your tricks..this video is so helpful!!! I loved it ♥️ I love to make bath bombs but right now I am testing my ingredients and I am learning each day because I think that it’s not easy to make them; in my case I have issues with the humidity in my environment 🥲 and my bath bombs get this humidity and as consequence they cracks. 💔
You’re so very welcome! Bath bombs really aren’t easy! & they can be so very finicky! I’ve dealt with every single type of problem there is!
Put them with dry rice to dry ! 👍🏻
Thank you so much!! I loved this recipe! Can't wait to try it! I have few doubts. Should I go with the same simple recipe if I'm living in a humid country? Also, do we need to add distilled water or witch hazel if we feel it's too dry?
Thanks! Yes, use my simple recipe, if it’s still dry you can add whichever liquid. Just know that adding witch Hazel & alcohol will fix it for a bit but then the mix gets even drier. I’d suggest using POLYSORBATE 80 or carrier oil
@@CreativeBathLab okay great! Thank you so much!
Dora you have so many ingredients you could actually sell ur products hon. I would always buy from you 😊

¡¡¡Usted es muy bienvenido!!! Estoy trabajando para actualizar todos mis videos, pero esto lleva tiempo (también mucho). Pero, si había un vídeo específico que necesitabas traducido, ¡no dudes en preguntar!
Thank you very much for this information and video. I have a question, I was going to use essential oils to mine, what other wet ingredient would I use to make up the difference between my 25 drops vs. Three teaspoons (or tablespoons) you used of fragrance oil? Thank you!
You are very welcome. You can use which ever wet ingredient that you want! Carrier oil, water, polysorbate 80, etc.
I live in Arizona and its pretty dry here I wonder how that will effect everything
A few minutes ago I knew ZERO about bath bombs - now I know quite a bit more! lol. This is exactly the video I was looking for. (Love your accent.) You got a new sub when you showed the data collection and research. Thank you so much for this. My weather is similarly humid so that advice was especially appreciated. Do you, by any chance, teach how to make youtube videos? So much of what really bugs me was not in your video. Can't do a tl;dr on your video because it was all necessary, not to mention clean, clear, and well organized. And it wasn't at all "long". Just one man's opinion - it was fairly perfect. Thanks!
You are so very welcome! I worked SOOO hard on this video; I literally put everything I had into it. I didn't want to leave anything out! & initially it didn't do too well.... Now, it's finally catching on! But, it's so funny you asked that question because I'm planning (in the far future) to do a tutorial on that subject.
You are so helpful! Thank you for sharing all the information you worked so hard to learn through the years. I’m planning on trying to make some bath bombs for my kids this week Thank you for all this detailed information
My pleasure! I’m a crazy person & go way beyond what u actually have to in order to make a descent bath bomb. I just wanted to make a bath bomb video & include EVERYTHING I’ve learned the past 2 years... hopefully it’ll help someone & make their bomb experience just a little bit easier than mine. I can still remember all the horrible batches of bath bombs.... I feel like a normal person would’ve just given up, but in fact, this made me work harder! Great learning experience tho!
@@CreativeBathLab this is really true, I make bath boms for 4 months now and I think now I have a good recipe for winter in Brazil, don't know if it will be good in summer, still cannot control the humidity but hope to get there soon only make on day's under 45 or 50% only don't know if the temperature interfere with making bath bombs ? But very good video like to see more ? Greetings Peter !
@@CreativeBathLab thanks for the response, I am Dutch but live in Brazil so it's difficult to make the boms the same as in Holland because there the umid is more than here, only hope my recipe will work in summer here also, thanks for responding 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That’s what I’m here for!!
@@CreativeBathLab now I have a new problem my bombs were great father I made them now after 3 days drying they begin to crack open, o my god what's going on now, last time the other day, I think I can save them but they were so good do you think I had to use more cornflower 🤷

🤗
Hi!! I happened upon your videos one day months ago while searching for how to make swirled lollipops. I was amazed and angry cause I watched it and kept saying “people EAT this stuff in suckers?” not realizing I was watching your lollipop bath video.😂😂😂😂 Every time I look for something tho, your videos pop up so I said “self, check her out.” You are a very nice and sweet person. (I’m from Opelousas but I live in Kentucky so I get it now. 😉) You videos are soooo informative and make me feel like I can conquer the bath world with my imagination. I have a lot of questions but I’ll take them step by step as I come up on complications. I just want you to know that you are great at what you do, to thank you for sharing with us, to tell you we all appreciate your kindness and selflessness (cause you don’t have to share anything with us), and to say you have a new follower for about a month now and I consider you family. Every time I get ready to practice with anything I always say now “what would my good cousin Dora do now?” 😘 P.S. What is cocoa betaine? What does it do?Do I have to use it in bath bombs?🤔
Wow, what a lovely compliment! Thanks so much! coco betaine is a mild surfactant & a foam booster. I use it to slow the vigor of the bath bomb... If you don't have something to buffer the bath bomb's reactions (like coco betaine), it'll fizz & bubble so quickly that it lasts maybe 1 minute. No, it is not necessary in bath bombs. I just like it because it gives me the results that I am looking for.
Hi Dora. I love watching your videos. Very informative and you are so creative and have great tips. I just started making them a few months ago. Still playing with the recipe. Questions, when you shrink wrap the bombs if they crack, are you using non-breathable wrap? I wrap my soaps in what has a few very tiny tiny holes to allow someone to smell them. Is that okay or should it be non-breathable? Thanks
im using non-breathable wraps yes (besides the tiny hole they all come with in order for the air to be pushed out when it's shrink wraped
After you place the bath bomb in the holder molds- how do you avoid the impression from the holder mold onto the bath bomb?
what spoon are you using i have been using the method of packing i used the recipe of the solid rock of the pink bombs and the tapping of the hammer when i mix wet ingredients polysorbate 80 fragrance n then water i got a weird reaction to the result it came out jelly and warm? any idea why i dont mind putting the practice and the cost i just want to have the confidence every time
Great great videos 💜, can really see your passion & knowledge into bath bombs. I have a question for you, I've noticed you use coco betaine sometimes and was curious for how come ? Guessing some formulas require/do better with it than others, but figured I'd ask. My other question for you--do you use SLSA & Sodium alginate often for the core & outer skin of bath bombs, or just for some in particular? Thank you and keep up the great work 😊
Thanks so much! Coco betaine is a surfactant & as such it slows the vigor, allowing the bomb to last longer & actually form bubbles & foam. You should watch my “make bombs like lush videos, this explains everything
Thank you 😊
💕
