With more than 130 million records sold worldwide, they remain the bestselling boy band of all time. And the boys - now men - are back with their biggest world tour in 18 years, and another hit album, "DNA." Tracy Smith talked with Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, A.J. McLean, Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson, who have never turned their backs on each other.

"We will never turn our backs on each other." THIS. This is why they are unlike any other group. They are a family. I will always support them! Also I've seen them 5 times in my life and the DNA tour is by far the best. SO SO worth it.

Brian Littrell should write a book. Everything he's been through - his fight with Lou, his fight with the boys over suing Lou, open heart surgery, his struggles with his voice to get back to where he was. I'd like to know about his "soul-searching". Write the book already Brian! (Saw them on the DNA tour in St.Louis. Brian, you sounded great!) Great interview - not long enough.
I would definitely read a book if he decided to write one. I've already read Nick's book too. I've always thought of him as just a flat out awesome person in general. Other than my Dad, once I discovered all the struggles Brian has had in his life and has overcome lots of them, he is my 2nd hero.

@@rosajessica7405 I saw that interview on you tube where he mentioned the title. I think it was - 4 to 5 feet. He said it was the height of a stage, and all that separated him from being like everyone else was that he was on that stage. I thought it was a great answer and title.

@@rosajessica7405 It was an old interview that looked like from the Millennium or Black and Blue period. It was on CBS because I recognized the interviewer. I just happened to come across it while looking for BSB interviews.

BSB are truly one of a kind band. Strong brotherhood, bandmates, friendships, business partners, and family man. They love their fans and usually always have a fan's song in every album. I had literally had grown up with their music when they released their albums, since I was in primary school and even after I've graduated from college. Truly talented, humble, and down to earth group of guys. They overcame majors flaws which would break up a band: backstabbing manager, losing a member, family deaths, health issues, drugs, fights, etc... and they still conquered it and fight on. BSB sold out Staples Center in LA in August and many other arenas/stadiums around the world. KTBSPA! 27 years and going! ✊💖

The Dna tour is the best tour they’ve done since Millennium. I felt like a 6 year old kid again when I saw them this spring.
After watching some NSYNC interviews I’m glad to see backstreet boys are actually going stronger than back in the days as friends. They truly are a band, where as NSYNC was just a boy band. Not saying they have no talent, but it wasn’t organic

Brian and nick were besties in a sense that Brian was like his older brother.. and Kevin was the oldest member, but I don't think they were as close as friends... there was such a huge age gap. Nick and Brian just clicked better.
Their friendship and brotherhood kept them together. I love the Backstreet Boys since the 90s and still loving them now. 😊
I bet within the next 5-10 years, the Backstreet Boys will get inducted to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. They deserve it.

USC Grad 07 The backlash comes from rock purists. The induction committee weighs a variety of factors when considering a nominee, including music influence and excellence. Pop music shares the same tree and rock and the induction committee wants to recognize all those who deserve it. The Backstreet Boys are worthy for consideration.

I didn’t know that Nick’s parents gave Brian guardianship of Nick on the road.
I had heard that before. An 18 year old given guardianship over a 13 year old. But, Brian and Nick were the closest and always together from what I've read. So, it makes sense (somewhat) that Brian would watch out for Nick.
Brittany Brown The Carter family came from a hardscrabble life. Nick’s parents had four other mouths to feed. When the group went to tour high schools and later Europe, someone had to look after Nick, sign papers, etc b/c he was still a minor.

Yes, they are, and you can really feel their mutual appreciation with their fans.... We were lucky to see them on the exact date of their 25th anniversary, 20th April 2018, here in Dubai... The organizers initially released 10k+ tickets only (based on the average attendance of previous concerts for various current international artists) and it was completely sold out immediately... less than 2 weeks before the show they added more tickets and maximized to almost 17,000 attendees!... first time the 13k capacity amphitheater has been that full... it ends up as the best and most attended concert in Dubai for 2018...even the most commercialized and elite Formula 1 concerts in Abu Dhabi can't hold the candle... Hopefully they can accomodate Middle East, South Asia and African Continent with their DNA tour... UAE is a melting pot of more than 200 nationalities, if we can't see them in our country of origin (on their DNA tour list already), at least we can have them in the country who adopted and unite us to see them... The world still loves the BSB after all this years!

I have been with them the whole 26 years, I will always be a fan of theirs. They know how to be a true to themselves and their fans. They are the best and I hope they keep making music for another 26 years.

I was born in the 1990's, so I can see how many screaming girls were around me, especially in my 3 year old self. Even I liked to dance around to Everybody (Rock your Body) and I Want it That Way. Backsteet's Back, all right, indeed. However, The BSB's really are taking themselves to greater and emotional heights. They really are making such a big difference to their fans, community and families. You guys are awesome, and basically, that's larger than life. #Iwantitthatway.

I saw the Backstreet Boys on their Millennium World Tour in 1999 in Lexington, KY. It was Brian and Kevin's hometown and it sold out so quickly. Two friends and I stood in line forever to get tickets. I still remember what a great show it was. They are very talented singers and performers. I remember having a big crush on AJ and my best friend was crushing on Brian. lol. Glad to see they are still touring and making new music.
