i loved that the weekly idol hosts gave LAY the BEST DANCER title. He was so suprised it broke my heart. KRIS was really happy too and proud. Lay was born to dance he is a natural. He's great at free style too when the music plays his body instantly flows with the beat! His moves are very dynamic and precise in my opinion he is the best dancer in EXO as a whole. The difference is Kai has more confidence and his facial expressions is what makes women go crazy. I hate when people compare Lay and Kai concerning who dances best. They both specialize in different categories of dancer, Lay is more with hip hop and r&b styles, while Kai is more ballet and jazz styled. How can you compare when both styles are totally different??? They are both unbelievably talented in their fields, respectively.

I feel like Kai does okay at best with slow music because he looks like he doesn't know what to do next so he gets very repetitive. I don't count choreographed dances because he obviously practiced those. Watch him freestyle- especially to slow music. I think he's bad at freestyle. I feel like that's important bc pretty much every member of exo is an amazing dancer when it comes to choreographed dancing, but not freestyle

You do realize that you've only further proven the point of my first comment right? I only said that they are incredibly talented in their respected branches of dance, not that I see Kai as a better dancer than Lay. I feel like everyone who has commented has been taking hits at Kai due to what I said, but again, I don't see how you can compare ballet to street dancing. I'm aware that Lay has a special talent in creating choreography. I'm aware that he's better at freestyle. Also, Jimin is not a street dancer lol, at all. He's more of a contemporary kind of kid, just like Kai. But onto Kai's situation. Not saying that you're personally attacking him at all, but I really hate it when people seem to get angry about the amount of attention Kai gets for dancing as opposed to Lay. One, it's definitely not his fault. Two, it's not even just about learning the choreography to near perfection. It's how he allows his body and facial expressions to relay the tone/ emotion of the music. It's how he's able to grab the attention of the audience by a certain look and configuration of his face. He doesn't just dance, he FEELS music, and lmao I'm sorry if you've seen something like this wayyyy too many times, but it's true. Even Lay has praised Kai on the way he capture's the audience. Rather than saying I think Lay is better than Kai in terms of dancing, I just prefer Lay's dancing more than Kai's. I do hip hop outside of school maybe that's why I prefer Lay's style. That does not mean that Kai isn't good. It's just personal preference

Honestly speaking, Kai and Lay are both very good dancers and you can't really compare them to one another because they have two different styles of doing the same dance. When it comes to talent though and well-roundness, Lay obviously has the upper hand. Lay can dance, sing, write music, and play musical instruments as well as speak and understand two languages. Kai on the other hand can dance but has little to no vocal talent and is simply a good looking dancer, but it's the looks that get him more noticed, not to mention he was pretty high up during his debut days with his friendship with Taemin. But I feel like Lay would be a stronger member if it came down to it.

Okay I'm not sure anymore which is better in dancing between Lay and Xiumin but based on this video.. Lay is naturally THE DANCER.. haven't seen the one from the Beatles' Code until now and that convinced me that Lay is naturally THE DANCER like Taemin! He's naturally very good and has been dancing for a long time since he was a kid like Taemin!! While Xiumin can get better as well and has a style like Taemin (hiphop style) that I prefer in their choreographs! :)

I've only started watching EXO's videos recently. (I'm more of Bigbang fan.) I know they have lots of members, so I never paid attention to who is who. I know Kai from "7 First Kisses" web series. And I would say he dances pretty good. BUT I am seriously blown away by how LAY dances. I mean he has swag in so many levels you cannot even put into words. Yeah, I think LAY is underrated.

Comparing Kai and Lay's dancing is like comparing fruits to vegetables, sure. Kai has a lot more feeling in his dancing while Lay focuses a lot more on rhythm (both being their personal styles and not choreographed obviously). But when it comes to comparing the two as dancers its a whole different story. I've seen Lay dancing in styles very similar to Kai's and nailing them but I've never seen Kai do anything close to what Lay usually does, not to mention how Lay is incredible at both choreographed and freestyle while Kai seems to struggle with showing his true potential in freestyle. I love them both but when it comes to comparing the two as dancers, I have to say that (in my opinion) Lay stands above Kai.

His moves are very dynamic and precise in my opinion he is the best dancer in EXO as a whole. The difference is Kai has more confidence and his facial expressions is what makes women go crazy. There is something about Lay's dancing that makes me want to watch him again and again. So smooth and yet so poweful. That dance starting at 1:10 makes me thinking whether is he a human. That dance is so sick. I can never get enough of his dancing.

I hate when people compare Lay and Kai concerning who dances best. They both specialize in different categories of dancer, Lay is more with hip hop and r&b styles, while Kai is more ballet and jazz styled. How can you compare when both styles are totally different??? They are both unbelievably talented in their fields, respectively.

I feel like Kai does okay at best with slow music because he looks like he doesn't know what to do next so he gets very repetitive. I don't count choreographed dances because he obviously practiced those. Watch him freestyle- especially to slow music. I think he's bad at freestyle. I feel like that's important bc pretty much every member of exo is an amazing dancer when it comes to choreographed dancing, but not freestyle

I only said that they are incredibly talented in their respected branches of dance, not that I see Kai as a better dancer than Lay. I feel like everyone who has commented has been taking hits at Kai due to what I said, but again, I don't see how you can compare ballet to street dancing. I'm aware that Lay has a special talent in creating choreography. I'm aware that he's better at freestyle. Also, Jimin is not a street dancer lol, at all. He's more of a contemporary kind of kid, just like Kai. But onto Kai's situation. Not saying that you're personally attacking him at all, but I really hate it when people seem to get angry about the amount of attention Kai gets for dancing as opposed to Lay. One, it's definitely not his fault. Two, it's not even just about learning the choreography to near perfection. It's how he allows his body and facial expressions to relay the tone/ emotion of the music. It's how he's able to grab the attention of the audience by a certain look and configuration of his face. Rather than saying I think Lay is better than Kai in terms of dancing, I just prefer Lay's dancing more than Kai's. I do hip hop outside of school maybe that's why I prefer Lay's style. That does not mean that Kai isn't good. It's just personal preference
E+F yeah fair enough. As a ballet dancer I can really see the beauty and grace when Kai dances but Lay is really entertaining and fun to watch. And obviously he's a great dancer.

Honestly speaking, Kai and Lay are both very good dancers and you can't really compare them to one another because they have two different styles of doing the same dance. When it comes to talent though and well-roundness, Lay obviously has the upper hand. Lay can dance, sing, write music, and play musical instruments as well as speak and understand two languages. Kai on the other hand can dance but has little to no vocal talent and is simply a good looking dancer, but it's the looks that get him more noticed, not to mention he was pretty high up during his debut days with his friendship with Taemin. But I feel like Lay would be a stronger member if it came down to it.

Okay I'm not sure anymore which is better in dancing between Lay and Xiumin but based on this video.. Lay is naturally THE DANCER.. haven't seen the one from the Beatles' Code until now and that convinced me that Lay is naturally THE DANCER like Taemin! He's naturally very good and has been dancing for a long time since he was a kid like Taemin!! While Xiumin can get better as well and has a style like Taemin (hiphop style) that I prefer in their choreographs! :)

I've only started watching EXO's videos recently. (I'm more of Bigbang fan.) I know they have lots of members, so I never paid attention to who is who. I know Kai from "7 First Kisses" web series. And I would say he dances pretty good. BUT I am seriously blown away by how LAY dances. I mean he has swag in so many levels you cannot even put into words. Yeah, I think LAY is underrated.

What's awesome is that you can see his members actually push him forward. It's awesome at how much they love and acknowledge his talent. In a more recent video of Happy Together Suho even mentions Lay alongside Kai and Sehun as one of the best dancers in EXO.

1:10 is one of my favorite dancing moments of him just because his isolation is what drew me to him in the first place. This new Exolu'Xion concert though gave me all kinds of Lay feels. Comparing Kai and Lay's dancing is like comparing fruits to vegetables, sure. Kai has a lot more feeling in his dancing while Lay focuses a lot more on rhythm (both being their personal styles and not choreographed obviously). But when it comes to comparing the two as dancers its a whole different story. I've seen Lay dancing in styles very similar to Kai's and nailing them but I've never seen Kai do anything close to what Lay usually does, not to mention how Lay is incredible at both choreographed and freestyle while Kai seems to struggle with showing his true potential in freestyle. I love them both but when it comes to comparing the two as dancers, I have to say that (in my opinion) Lay stands above Kai.
Kai dances from the heart and for other people. Lay dances with his soul and for the sake of music alone. He analyzes the rhythm, tempo and beats and has his own interpretation. And that makes them both awesome and different at the same time.
