  • Shaunae on her return from having a baby received the baton in 3rd place on the 3rd leg & went on to walk down both Abby & Alexis in an impressive 49.60 split which is ominous re what's to come from her in the individual 400m as she chases a historic 3rd consecutive Olympic 400m Gold in Paris! Should also be noted that Anavia Battle (21.95 PB) ran a wind-legal 11.05 (2.0) PB in her 100m opener @Gamecock Invitational just over 10 days ago, but the meet stupidly isn’t on the World Athletics Calendar so its results won’t be on the official WA site. That's a big improvement for the 200m specialist who's been struggling to run faster than her 11.17 PB from '22.

The two anchor leg ladies look EXACTLY the same. Also, how many times have we seen Abby make exactly that same pass (3:00) in the 4x400?

  • Again, this is with a last place start, early in the season for her, and the 100 isn't her specialty. Not yet mentioned anywhere, Hobbs left a track in a wheel chair in March, and was on Steiner's winning relay team. Good to see her back after that.

  • Looking at the final leg baton recipients, they both were wearing very similar black gear & both women had their hair up in a bun-like fashion...AND Steiner was arriving first (except for Miller-Uibo on the outside), so her teammate normally would be on the inside. It wasn't Steiner's fault; it was a mistake waiting to happen.

    @joeycarter8846@joeycarter884613 күн бұрын
    • Not correct…it is her fault. Simply put, while the person in the front usually goes towards the inside lane, it cannot always happen this way due to lane interference. Abby was in lane two while Holmes was in lane one, which means her receiver 100% would’ve gone into the same lane as she. This was a critical error by Abby for so many reasons, but we can let it go…

Her top speed is sheer turnover, rather than length. So, I'm not sure she can get a much better start without it detracting from her end. The 200m and the relays are another matter.

Perhaps you should too, unless, that is, You've won the United States a gold medal at the Olympics. I digress. • @ScambaiterX I nominate this comment of yours as the most creative way to take a dig at TRP and Matthew Boling at the same time. It might be noted that not only would Matthew Boling not have been in on a world record but the other three members of the USA's 4x400m mixed relay, Justin Robinson, Rosie Effiong and Alexis Holmes also would not have won. If Bol had not got bowled over Boling's goal of mixed relay gold would have gone cold. If the US had lost the Boling detractors would have had a lot of fun. The US coaches would have taken a lot of flack for letting Boling take the track and the Boling backers would have lacked a defense against a ton of jokes and cracks at the cost of the pink faced one.

    • @@stevenbrozynski5555 I agree. They don't give awards for "close but no cigar!" However, Holmes did not take it away from her. Holmes did not touch Bol nor push her. Bol fell on her own. Bol has proven herself to be an outstanding 400m hurdler and 400m flat runner. If Levrone comes out of retirement I'd like to see them face off again in either of those two events.

    • @@terraflow__bryanburdo4547 Switches are made after 200 meters all the time, many times with the track officials getting involved in the order of the line up. Abby was clearly in the lead for quite a distance and her teammate should have been on the inside. Also if you have ever run in a 400 meter relay you are very tired at the end and it's the job of your teammate to get your attention in a confused situation like that in the hand off zone.
