Thank you very much for your support! I really appreciate it!
If you plan to buy a truck a 10 speed transmission can make an engine feel strangled at certain highway speeds. I personally prefer a 13 speed over a 10-speed transmission, 13 speed transmission gives an extra gear between those in high range.
If you are buying a semi then you need to buy a set of tools that will help you in the long run.
I recommend the tools I use and like them because they are not failing on me.
Im not paid by tools companies this is my own opinion based on my experience.

THANK YOU BRO I just landed a job and they said 10 speed and I said yes I can drive Manuel. The highest I drove a car was 6 speed thus was a great explanation thank you so much
Thank you for feedback. Hope you get it!
I’m in the same boat 😂 I don’t have auto restriction on my cdl and I’m about to drive a 10 speed at a new company
@@prodLeeoGsame ...how did it go ? Is anything like the 6 speed
Guy help me look for a truck.. I'm a driver in Nigeria looking for truck to drive
@@emmyfreshsam6125If you have good credit you can lease a truck. Don't do it, it gets ridiculously expensive. Find a company that will take on new drivers with no experience
As a driver instructor myself, I was very impressed with the first video I saw. Great job! Excellent!
Thank you!
What a Wholesome dude, I felt like I got taught by someone’s dad in a simple way not over complicating, thanks man
Thank you! I really appreciate your comment!
Great refresher. I learned on a 10 speed but have been driving automatics for years. Got a road test tomorrow for a local job driving a standard. Hope I still got it.
Glad that you picked my video! How did it go?
@@iTruckiTrailer I was rusty but they gave me an extra training day to get it back. Better than I ever was now
I appreciate how you broke this shifting down to advice terms. I think anyone that's trying to learn how to drive a manual truck should study the pattern first. If I would have learned this first I would not have struggled with this. Please continue putting out videos so that other students/ Truckers can learn this. Keep up the good work.
Thank you!
Thank you for explaining everything clearly and slowly. I'm on my tenth day of truck driving school and your video has helped me not be too nervous about getting in the driver seat and drive.
Thank you very much for your comment! I’m glad to hear that the time and energy I put in this video helped you.
I’m a ol East Texas cowboy trying this trucking thang out& You really help me out brother….i love it keep giving the knowledge
Thank you
excellent explanation….”getting ready” and the precise engine RPM adjustments👍
Thank you
Great video, I got my class B cdl about 12 years ago and drove a 10 speed straight truck. I am now a truck driving student again. Upgrading to my class A. I haven't driven a 10 speed in about 2 years. I found out yesterday I'm a bit rusty with matching the rpms and the shift. Especially on the downshift. But with your video and more practice. I feel success is imminent.
Hi! Thank you for your feedback I greatly appreciate it! Everything is possible! The only obstacle is our brain and people that try to convince us that everything is super hard. In reality everything is easy! To achieve our goals we need just two things: 1) Trust (our self) 2) Practice
Thank you soo much im 20 and about to get ready to take my permit classes and get my CDL now i know way more what to do and expect while driving!!!!
Thank you! Please share!
I'm Currently in training to Get my CDL and I'm using a ten gear transmission truck, this video really helped me understand it a lot better, thank you very much for uploading this content, extremely useful for the New CDL drivers coming out, thank youuuuuu

I have been driving 5 and 6 speed manual transmissions for over 10 years, so this looks like it would be pretty easy for me to learn, looks fun to me!

God bless you sir! Thank you very much! I learned it all in one day 😊
Thank you! God bless you too!
Thank you for the video. I've never run a 10 speed before, and my next job I will be. I was just looking to find the shifting pattern and rpms to see what's different, and I found this video. This video should be an official learning video. You were very thorough and the information was very clear. I will recommend this video to anyone I come across who wants to learn to drive a truck. I'm going through your channel and checking out other videos. If they're anywhere as good as this one, it'll be worth the watch. Thanks again bud, keep up the great work. Maybe add a second shot of the rpm as you drive? To see it all at once would help as well. I'm a visual learner, so the more I see happening at once, the quicker and easier I learn. And many others as well I should add. I'm not thinking of just me, just explaining my situation.
Thank you for encouraging words! I will try to shoot a video asap.
Thank you for the clear explanation you are professional

Taking my test for my CDL permit tomorrow. Gotta pass 50 question General Knowledge, 25 Air Brakes and 20 Combination. Then after I pass those I'm gonna take my Tanker and Double and Triples endorsements. A little nervous but I think I'm gonna nail it.
Did you pass?
@@iTruckiTrailer sure did. Got my Tanker and Doubles and triples endorsement now too. Next step is 3 weeks of in field training with the Tractor and Trailer to get set up to take the Drive and Skills test.
Thanks for explanation please do a video how to shift 13 gear

I wanted to drive high and low gear trucks but didnt know the gear operating system. Thought of just driving and get to know. But your tutorial has made me realize the importance of the rpm in gear changing from high to low.. Another thing like to know is what if im on 10th gear and suddenly arrive around a mishap on the road secons away, then which gear i need to engage to be fully in control, that is if i dont come down gear after gear. Or can i jump gears from high 10 to which gear would be best that i can go back to low. Just like normal 5 gear drive, you can go from 5th to 3rd . What should be done? Oh i forgot to THANK YOU. Just gave courage to drive.
Thank you
Thank u
You are welcome!

Damn I still don’t understand. But will watch this video many times. Until I make it make sense to me.
You will get there if you put enough time in.😊
at minute 14:05 when you start driving and shifting you should put the the speed you’re driving at and the gear your in that being a high or low. great video tho easy concept to understand and repeat theoretically and apply
Thank you
@@iTruckiTrailer Yea man great stuff I’m a beginner but it would help if you were able to put that up on the screen that would of definitely put the cherry on the cake. Thanks for your time
Thanks for video , Do you still press cluch pedal before switching gears or only to start driving truck ? Sorry dumb question, I didn’t catch
I didn’t use the clutch in this video. The way I drove is called floating. You just have to add double clutch every thing stays the same. Double clutch is used to pass the test.
I think it would be helpful if you mentioned when you are pushing in the clutch and letting the clutch out
Thank you for advice!
It's much easier to float instead of double clutching. Single clutching is OK too
If you got your cld on Volvo, you gonna cry after that.. always try to learn on international or kenworth.. cause Volvo shifting is so smooth and its gonna be hard for you to drive other models
👍
As beginner am slowly catching up.
Don’t stop!
Nyc
Thank you
Going to cdl school , was hoping they have automatic but they only have manual and I’m nervous because I never drove a stick shift
Manual is the way to go! Don’t be afraid. You can do it!
Automatics are for fluffers…. Manuel gear jamming gets you total control over what your doing.
I was just like you in trucking school 10 years ago nervous as hell . I have never shift a manual car prior going to trucking school. 10 years later, I still don't know how to shift a manual car and a 10 speed transmission is what I mastered 😂
hey are there any normal manual transmission or something besides the fuller eaton ? I m not use to this type of semi automatic trucks. so you dont use the clutch after the 1st gear ?
If you’re in 🇺🇸 then this is the only option for manual transmission.
do you have a similar video for the Cat 7155 transmission??
Can you please make a video on explaining downshifting more and how to roll?😭
I can but it will take time
Downshift is fairly easily. Let the needle drop down to 1000 rpm. Rev up the and quickly shift the next gear back . Drop the needle down to 700 rpm and you can for shift down skip a gear . For example let's say you are in 8th gear. You can skip a gear and shift to 6th gear
@@chucknorris2266 So in this case we rev up to 700+400= 11 rom to downshift to 6th??
I started driving this Eaton transmission today for UPS and I had never driven it.. I was grinding at the gears like crazy because I didn't understand this but now I do.. hopefully tomorrow I'll have the hang of it.. so when you drive with the RPMs precisely like this you don't even use the clutch is that right? You go from one gear to the other with no clutch work?
Hi! You are right I am floating through the gears. No clutch.
Perfect i get something sir
Thank you
What rpm to rev up to to downshift to lower gears like 5th and 4th???
At 14:40 you were in 5th gear when you selected Hi range? Or did you clutch in and then select Hi range and then moved to 6?
I use Clutch just in first gear. Soon I will publish a video how to shift a 13 speed transmission. That video is going to be more detailed. I’ll show how to shift with Clutch and without with it. How to shift uphill and downhill what to do if you lost a gear, so hit that notification bell so you don’t miss it is going to be a good one.
What happens if we shift the range switch to the low range while gear is in high range gear.. imagine like it is in 7th gear.
Hi! If you are in high range gears 7-10 and you flip the range selector down while you are in the gear nothing is going to happen. You will be able to place it just in neutral position and then you will hear some noise from your transmission. To get rid off noise and shift into the next gear(up or down) you will need to select high range.
Soo pretty much its like shifting car gears except when your at 5th hit the spliter then back to gear 1 wich becomes 6th gear and so on. Slow down is gear down from a distance obviously or in emergency case pop it in neutral and slam the brakes and scream. Is that about right?
Hi!😊 Everything is right except one thing: Never go in neutral. Shift down or clutch and brake.
Never go into neutral if you're trying to slow down, stop or under any circumstances even when driving a car it's illegal
So based on the video from what I gather, you upshift from first to second at 800 RPMs and then for upshifting from 2nd to 3rd, 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th, you upshift at 1000 RPMs. Then for 6th gear you say to upshift at 1200 RPMs. But wouldn't it be fine to upshift at 1500 RPMs at sixth gear? And what about 7th gear upshifting all the way through to 10th gear? Do we just upshift at 1500 RPMs for those gears as well? And for downshifting, from 5th to 4th, 4th to 3rd, and 3rd to 2nd do you downshift at 800 RPMs and revmatch it 400 RPMs up? And for 2nd to 1st gear, do you just bring it to 600 rpms and then downshift while revving it up 400 rpms?
Lol not bad but I think the drawing made it more confusing than it needed to be honest imo. But great tutorial nonetheless.
Thank you for your advice!

Thank you! I will.
