5:05 In Japan, as you mentioned, most outlets don't have earth connectors. However, outlets in areas such as washrooms, bathrooms, and kitchens that require GFCI protection against electrocution, as well as those for air conditioners, do have earth connectors. Therefore, we can use these grounds or leave the earth plug disconnected:(
Thats crazy
Vietnam too. There is no earth wire. Some houses have buried metal rods in the ground to act as earth. I often get some tingling electric shock around the outer case of personal computer.

Electroboom, I love your vids! You use slapstick really well to make safety tips stick in people’s heads and it’s really admirable that you take one for the team to prevent injury (even though sometimes I know it’s not on purpose!)
I've always been fascinated by how these things were done without modern electronics and meters. Would love to see a video on older analog style scopes and how they work!
There’s a youruber called Mr Carlsons lab who works with antique electronics and has a video on old oscilloscopes that use vacuum tubes
This video would've been so very helpful when I started studying ICT engineering. You and Keysight are amazing!
You are the one who pushed me to ELECTRONICS. You made me understand all of the stuff we 'some' fun. Thanks a lot Ms MEHDI SADAGHDAR

I was watching your video, Drowning in inefficiency, and was wondering if you could do a video going over some of the research into efficient energy transfer, ie any studies that cover potential ways to improve efficiency or new energy sources that are more efficient, etc. If the information and studies are available. Love the videos and keep up the good work you do.
Thanks for the introduction to oscilloscope. After watching this over a few years, I finally got a 4 channel 200MHz scope. Truly appreciate your time putting this together
3:44 The way he says, “I’m a professional.”

Hi Medhi , I recently started using oscilloscopes in college , I am learning about half wave , full wave and full bridge rectifiers, and building the circuits.
Finally some engineers found gateway to heaven 😂😂
In Japan we have a earth ground for things that need a lot of energy for example a refrigerator or a laundry machine will have one.
pretty sure thats most of the world tho. europe and australia as far as i know
In Canada and USA only outlets that haven’t been changes in 30 years don’t have ground
Is that like a tri-phase electricity?
In Indonesia we don't even have ground for anything. My computer case and the mic plugged into it shock me everytime I touch them. I even burned my skin once from accidentally touching the mains while unplugging my fridge
@@MIZUch. thats true lol, i often shocked when i was a child

The DSOX1204 is an excellent oscilloscope. I especially appreciate its XY mode support, which is similar to legacy analog CRT scopes.
Could you do a series on every major electrical component, explaining how they work and showing off the things you shouldn't do with them? (things like connecting Elco condensators the wrong way)

I built a rudimentary oscilloscope this year as part of my electronics class for school. Very cool things!

Thank you so much, knowledge and fun. You Sir are a great teacher.
You really should've mentioned the FFT (fast Fourier transform) mode. That turns the o-scope into a spectrum analyzer, which is beyond the budget of most electronics enthusiasts.
He mentioned frequency response though.
As an engineer (non-electrical), I really appreciate this video. Thank you
You have no idea how this quick go to is so handy to everyone who hasn't used an oscilloscope in the past and not had to use them for ages. Thanks

Fiscally entertaining. I remember learning electronics using crt o-scopes.
Everything you said about your friends was exactly what I was thinking, including my introduction to your channel with the burning pants. All that said, I would like to know, what you would recommend in terms of oscilloscope for the absolute beginner from Keysight. I have seen many video's citing this and that of other scopes, only to find reviews saying don't buy. Keep up the good work as I'm learning as much as I can from you.

Best videos I’ve ever seen on KZhead. I can improve my English here very well. I know all that stuff from my shool but I learned it in german so thank you very much :-)
i came across this after looking up repair guides for the oscilloscope i found in the trash ( an Alegent 54622a). i know that it would be better to buy a new oscilloscope, but the charm of this digital scope with a crt display is undeniable.
This moment at end of the video! "Gateway to heaven!" NOO!!! Gateway to a FULL BRIDGE RECTIFIER!!! XD
8:33 The "maximum frequency" of the scope and the probe is actually the bandwidth, it marks the -3 dB point. So at this frequency, the scope would show 71% of the actual voltage, which I wouldn't call an accurate measurement. (But since it's a linear system, the shape of the signal does stay accurate at higher frequencies.)
