  • EDIT- I am the radioactive lady! It is not harmful, as I was given 6mSv. It is not enough to cause cancer, and it was very necessary to rule out blood clots, as I have severe pneumonia at the moment! It is called a V/Q scan! Next time, I WILL ask for some rad-away ☢️ Good news! I’m not radioactive anymore! ;) thanks for featuring my video, Daily Dose! ❤️

  • 1:40 The Tribe is called the Banna tribe, and they originally started walking on stilts while herding as a way of countering wild animals. Like poisonous animals on the ground that can't reach you, and they can also see potential predators from longer away. It since has become a tradition that unmarried boys learn to skillfully walk and even dance on stilts. This shows their maturity and strength, regardless if they are going to spend a lot of time as shepherds or not. Notably, The Banna tribe does not constantly walk on stilts, however.

  • I am NOT the radioactive lady but of someone training to do V/Q scans. Its a nuclear medicine procedure which does involve radiation which uses the gas that we fill the lungs with to form an image. We then inject radioactivity which localises in the blood vessels of the lungs to form a blood flow image and can compare the two images to check for blockages or any irregular patterns. Its most commonly used for checks for pulmonary embolism (blood clots) which are life threatening and although it seems scary, its such a small dose that sometimes even pregnant women get the test done (mainly because checking for P.E is importsnt for saving the mother's life) but as both the radioactive gas and tracer doesn't pass the placental barrier, it has minimal risk to the baby!

  • I’m a Nuclear Medicine Technologist myself and as soon as I saw the thumbnail of her holding the meter to her chest I knew exactly what she had done. V/Qs are actually very very common and are used to detect Pulmonary Embolisms (blood clots in the lungs). Compared to the doses we use for our other scans the radiation she received was minute. We are monitored constantly to measure our exposure levels to ensure we don’t go over limits set by the NRC. I am around radioactive stuff all day, some of which is way stronger and way nastier than what she got and I am healthy as could be. Just takes some education and training to be “safe” with what we do. Hope that gives some piece of mind to people who aren’t exposed to radiology on a day to day :)

Basically, when they dive in, they try to stick the bread to the inside of the Tonir, to as close to the fire as possible. A KZhead channel called Great Big Story has a great video where they talk about the making of Shotis Puri. Just wanted to point that out.

The purpose of such detectors, of course, is to prevent people smuggling weaponize-able radioactive materials across the border.
