The color is a very purposeful choice. Billie has synesthesia and "sees" her song in a specific color. This song was described by her as Yellow.
Fun fact - the rapid clicks that play under the chorus are sampled from the sound that plays on street crossings here in Sydney (they're there for people who have sight issues to signal it's safe to cross)

the invisalign thing was actually something they said as a joke when they were thinking what the opening track should say to introduce the album. so they referenced her taking her invisalign out at the beginning of this video, but then it was so funny they actually seriously used it! you can find the video from her documentary of them actually saying those things with the laugh and everything by the way please react to when the party’s over or all the good girls go to hell next! i think you’d love them
As a video editor you should know that Billie edited this on a laptop. And this was several years ago.

Billie too is an award winning music video editor. Grammy award for this video, in fact. She edited in on her mother’s laptop. The perfect beat cuts and movements are one of my favourite things about her, she choreographs her videos like a dancer and a visual creator and a musician and a poet all in one. It’s so cool.
Good reaction. A minor detail: you keep saying "they did the transition", "they did color", and "they this" and "they that". There is no "they" in Billie's videos. it's all her. She does the color grading, transitions, cuts, and editing. This was her first MV for which she borrowed her mother's MacBook and used iMovie. She hosted a full plenary session at Adobe Conference where she covered these topics, which might interest you as a video editor. Final fact: bad guy won the video editing Grammy.

You are wrong! Billie and Finneas was the composers, but it was Dave Meyers who directed it and Erik Wernquist who produced it😉 Billie did edit it though, but it wasn’t only her making this mv

On THE ROLLING STONE channel, Billie and Finneas [her co-writing/producing] brother tell us about in a fascinating episode entitled "Billie Eilish and Finneas Break Down Her Hit Song 'Bad Guy'; but you got the gist of it - Billie was having fun with the idea that if others want to pretend to be the "Bad Guy" - a girl can do that, too - Billie was 17 at the time. The high hats are cross walk signals recorded in Sydney, Australia. In 'Bury A Friend" Billie has recorded her Dentist's drill and put that unpleasant sound in recurring spots in that song. I was trying to recall if there was any video that didn't have a dour mood to it or any heaviness at all - I think that would be "Bellyache" (official Music video)j released by 15 yr. old Billie Feb. 24, 2017 - it is however about a teenage psychopath and many reactors don't catch that in the lyrics at the beginning - perhaps 5 - 10% do. But the video is pretty upbeat.

my interpretation is that it's about power plays and billie basically saying and showing that she'll play the role of someone who thinks the tough guys around her are intimidating, but really she's the powerful one. while at the same time having fun with it and not taking it too seriously. the red at the end isn't about her being bad, but just powerful and in control while the guy who would otherwise be a tough guy stereotype is fully taking his cues from her and the one being (literally) objectified. which is a reversal of most situations/assumptions/music videos

You definitely need to watch When the Party's Over and watch the behind the scenes if possible. Also Therefore I Am is another bright one and was filmed on an iPhone I believe.

love the billie videos. so many people look over them! they are so creative and awesome in their own ways. if you look more into it they all have so many layers. from her making them almost all on her own with doing the edits, directing, choreography, outfits etc. Her brain is amazing, how one cam come up with all of this amazes me, and the colors all have meaning due to her synthesisia i believe its called.

Happier than Ever is one of her darkest and heaviest songs. It’s about her breaking away from her domestic violence partner (I’m not sure fictional or not). When the water finally comes rushing into the house, that was the moment he went too far and the dam broke. She made her escape & survived the storm. 🥺😔 Bad Guy is snarky and fun imho. 😂☺️
I’d love to see you react to the Rolling Stone video about what went into making this song (not the music video) and what it’s about. Some really cool behind the scenes about the recording process and all that..with Billie and Finneas. I’m pretty sure if you just search Rolling Stone bad guy and you’ll find it.😊

The flowers outfit with the matching shoes is by Murakami, I think, it kinda looks like his style from what I can glimpse. Billie collaborated with him on an animated music video for “You should see me in a crown” so she’d have access to such an outfit
I never understood this video other than Billie showing all the random sides of herself. Some things make sense, but others seem like Billie being like: this would be fun in the video and I’ll make it look cool and fit somehow. And she absolutely does!

I have never seen any inclination on the part of Billie or Finneas to hide influences - I don't think it's a collaboration and I'm certain it's not a ripoff - that's an unnecessary negative insinuation, in my view.
