During the winter, the villages perched more than three thousand five hundred meters above sea level are practically cut off from the rest of the world. Only a few tracks cut in the schist of the mountain, dominating gigantic precipices, lead there. These tracks are the only supply routes for the villages of Shimshal or Chipoorson.
Raymond and Mohammad are among the very few drivers crazy enough to venture on these roads covered in snow and ice. The slightest misconduct and their vehicle, 4×4 or minibus, will crash eight hundred meters below.
A few kilometers from the Chinese border, nestled in the hollow of the Hunza mountains, the Wakhi villages perpetuate their ancestral traditions; like bouzkachi, this fierce game where acrobatic riders fight over the carcass of a goat...
