While in Ko Samui, Thailand, I asked Muay Thai fighters how much money they make in their fights. We got all kinds of answers from tiny amounts to thousands of dollars from 1 fight. They also shared the most brutal injury they got from Muay Thai and how much they are earning now as trainers.

Greeting from the money team in Las Vegas it’s disgusting because I love this sport and I have played it but this thing is don’t expect to make a lot of money with it it’s sad but it is the reality of the situation someway Thai fighters don’t even get paid at all can you believe that? Imagine if I told you “OK Mr. Bronx medalist Olympic champion you have to box for free !”

  • All interviewed trainers seem like very humble guys, they experienced a lot during their fights. It's crazy to think about that they destroy parts of their body, for the entertainment of others. Apart from that, Muay Thai is a great sport, where you need to be mentally strong. This they learn by a young age. Huge respect to those guys 🙏 Great Interview!

    • They don't do it for the entertainment of others though, it was their only shot in life to make some money for the them and their family. People who do it for the entertainment of others are not to be found in Thailand, they simply do it because they don't have any other choice

  • Yeah the pays for the fights are not so high considering if you need to pay extra stuff during fight camp to prep better, minus all those costs, it's pretty much living dirt poor but doing what you love and I think this is the case for pretty much every single Nak Muay, it's for the love of the art and nothing else, Sabbai Sabbai. Of course there are exceptions to this rule if you're relatively famous, but that usually happens only if you're extremely dominant champion with many title defences and well promoted social media, like for example Saenchai, Superbon, Buakaw, Samart, Nong-O, etc. and most of their pay doesn't come from the fight purses, it's the social media, and the sponsor deals within it, plus ads.

  • You can not compare earning in Thailand with other countries.. Also most of the fighters or any athletes in any country don't make any money.

  • Never judge a Thai fighter by its cover. They look harmless but they can literaly put a person in wheelchair!

  • After I left the British Army (Iraq ,Afghanistan,Bosnia)I relocated to Thailand and lived and trained there for 5years,it was cheap, food was great and the people amazingly kind and physically tough. If anyone wants a truly tough body then eat, train, sleep Muay Thai for at least a year, makes army training look like a butlins holiday camp.😆🤣😂 If these guys don't win, they don't earn and there's many Thai women too that fight, they leave their kids with family in the provinces to fight and earn money, its a brutal life being poor in these countries.
