I said this on another channel that the big difference between Benn and Garcia is that Benn failed a test and the fight was called off. Garcia missed weight and fought with PEDs in his system and battered his opponent and hurt him badly. Totally different situation as the fight did go ahead and the lighter guy got flattened. So freakin dangerous. Criminal actually…literally so. Just another crappy mark on boxing. Sucks.

Benn tested positive before the fight. Garcia did not test positive before the fight. The results came.out after the fight. Clear difference. You an Eddie hearn fan boy?
Ffs 🤦♂️ I’m not about to go back and forth with a bunch of folks with agendas arguing every minutiae out there. There are many things to bring up of course. But, to be clear I’m referring to the Benn v Eubank fight as that’s what most people will use as a comparison. And no I’m not defending Benn in any way and no I don’t dislike Garcia. If Benn could have got away with the fight he would have I’m sure. But the difference and my main point is one fight didn’t happen (and Eubank likely avoided being badly hurt) and in another case the fight did and someone got badly hurt. There is a qualified difference in that regard. Let’s try and be grown ups in comments and not kids in a playground.
Where was the outrage when Garcia turned up 3lb overweight. There are weight divisions for a reason and in those lower divisions, when one fighter is killing himself to cut weight and another is not, there can and have been serious injuries. The fight should not have happened in the first place...its worse that most people know Garcia was on all types of substances, who did not think this was a possibility? End of story. Ban him for life.

In that case it's Haney's fault then for cutting his weight and looking so dehydrated for the fight then, similarly to Ryan. Also, 3 pounds heavier? Fine, but it's just 3 lb over, so where do we draw the line at? 2.5, 2, 1.5 lb over? 1 lb over, and the fighter not allowed to fight?
Jeez, There was NO outrage when Garcia did'nt make the weight, because he said that he would personally pay Haney $500,000 for every pound that he came in overweight, & that turned out to be $2 million, but even without the failure to make the weight, that he would have beaten Haney, but he must ALSO be given the chance to prove his innocence, & if he cannot do that, then he need to be punished accordingly. I like Garcia, but he is not above the law, let all of the facts come out, before we rush to judge him.

If Ryan is innocent in this then surely he would be talking about giving hair samples or b samples and suing the athletics commission. At the moment it’s just the same old.
VADA sent him a letter with a negative test taken on February 28th and now claims that a test from the day of the fight (April 20) came positive. So assuming he started cycling the very next day the letter came he did a month and 20 days cycle ?? Sounds like bs

Nah we just need tougher bans & more media scrutinity. i hate when this happens cause everyone acts outraged in the first week & then all the usual media outlets, pundits etc all fall in line. Just like they did with Conor Benn, they let him get away with murder due to his links to Hearn & wider media pressure. No one ever keeps this energy. I'd much rather people consistently call for 5 year bans than screaming life time bans once a year when something happens

There are so many variables regarding this issue and because of that there is a plethora of factors we can all point our fingers at as to who or what is at fault, but one thing is for certain and that is this problem is institutionalised and when something is so embedded the possibilities of it being resolved are near zero,,,fact..,.
They should test onsite , fight week and fight night with a mobile trailer lab for instant results
I’m no fan of Ben Shalom but TalkSport expecting Shalom to explain why tests take so long to come back is exactly why you can’t take them seriously

It’s a pointless excersize if results are after the fight, seems shady to me.
Why would they frame ryan? He is a good money maker. Why did they bust Canelo twice in 2018, who has been the biggest cash cow for years? You guys sound really dumb. Boxing focuses on cash cows, if anything, they would try to hide the test for ryan, since he makes good numbers. Besides Vada is a billion dollar company that tests other sports bigger than boxing.

To be honest he was "acting" mentally unwell before the fight and they still let him in the ring to get punched in the head.

How about boxing start making their own supplements like the ufc. That way anything you taken outside of approved supplements will clearly determine culpability.

Simple solution - purse held in escrow, if you are found to be juiced at a point after the fight then you lose 75% of the purse....permanently unless at some point after then you are absolved/proved innocent.

There is no SAME DAY TEST RESULTS!. the sample has to be sent to a lab. Fighter could take a shot right before fight to avoid test anyway. Come up with better testing or play by the rules.
And that drug causes "Mood swings" when Testosterone is low. Might explain his "strange" behavior before fight.

Of course the authorities/commissioning bodies/Tv aren't going to call the fight off , even if they knew he failed a test beforehand. They're not gonna loose £50m broadcasting, £10m ticket sales, £15m merchandising etc. It always boils down to cash. End of.

They all do it. Let’s not be naive. Why is it current boxers don’t all condemn drug users. When so much money is at stake they all need an edge.
They can get results faster. But they think with there wallet. Imagine the money loss if they caught Garcia 24 hours before the fight. The money they would lose is huge. This is the problem with building boxing shows. It’s all or nothing. Boxing needs a revamp and take note of how ufc runs.
If I had been wrongfully accused of taking PEDS I would be doing livestreams on Instagram and KZhead interacting with every single fan out there directly and putting them straight. I would not release a small video like he and many others in the past in similar situations have done.
