Also in qld we don’t have double demerits on public holidays, but it is double demerits if you get fined with the same fine within 12 months of the offence, so if you get done speeding again within the same range within 12 months, it’ll be double points! You probably won’t, as you said you’re a safe driver, just wanted you to be aware!

Hey Rosie and Harry! I used to go camping there all the time! Rules are 50 in camping zones and usually 80 outside of them. Also next time follow the beach up to the point and cross over it’s absolutely stunning over there!

It’s 50 kmh through the camp zones. And on that stretch you were on they are always there with cameras. And zones where it states 80 you are ok. Next time you have to go further up and then swing a left in the dunes up the ramp to get to the other side to double island point. It’s literally like paradise

You can’t actually take dogs up north shore because it’s a road/national park. But if you turn left at the cutting there is a small bit of beach you can take dogs to up there but no camping 😊

Well this is how I would contest it - I genuinely thought I was going to be trapped on the beach over Easter with no provisions, I have a good driving record , and when I proceeded to “speed” there wasn’t anyone around me on the beach. They can only reject it.
Rosie is Australian haha cops are super strict in qld, especially on beaches because there’s a lot of accidents there, it’s unfortunate but the law is the law that they’re responsible for knowing and they know now. Contesting it can cost a lot and can end up in court, it’s not worth contesting. It’s a learning curve for them

Been Easter, was it double trouble? It’s always double demerits, double fines here in WA over the holidays. Unlucky mate
Yeah Easter Weekend is super serious here. Avoid driving as much as you can. Its double demerits at least & speed is taken super seriously especially in more holiday places as the road toll gets so high and they do all this to prevent lives lost. Consider it a blessing and remember never speed. If youre not sure the limit stick to 50k and then when you come across other cars match their speed or a bit slower. Also rules are different for national parks which most of australia is tbh and you may not even realise. Beaches included is public domain. The cops are usually pretty understanding but i think all that coupled with your very expensive looking car and young men are the cause of majority of accidents hoons etc it created a perfect storm of conditions for you to get that ticket. Also majority of cop cars arent marked. They look like any other car they may just have darker windows or a bit more gear like fancier antenna might be parked somewhere with no signs of life around them so always behave basically cause the cop cars you do see are the ones that are going specific places/jobs not patrolling around the place or catching speedsters. Idk how much ypu told him but if you mentioned being a youtuber and the fact that youre very obviously a pom well that may've played into the make am example of you, youre not immune to the laws just cause youre new deal. Most aussies avoid being on the road over easter. Because it gets so crazy and the police are really geared up because of it. So grab all your food and fun and get there before easter and leave after the crowds have or just dont go at easter is smarter OR hunker down and have easter at home or not on the road at least. The news will usually tell you when the eaater stricter road rules come into play and then go back to normal also ive seen poms drive and i love you guys but youre mental 1 dont rush to get places thats when people die its better later then never getting there and 2 drive laidback casual aussie style. The beach isnt going anywhere you live here now you can always go back another day. Stay safe.

Also I know where this is and I’ve wanted to go but I sold my Ute and got a mum car (cx-9) because I have a little so I don’t think Patricia (my car) will cope there ahaha
