  • Jami, my favorite part in this video was you calling Lester your Neon Cowboy. So sweet. 💞

  • Morning Jami - How I would have loved to join you in walking and browsing up and down these different one of a kind/antique aisles, along with you - but since I couldn’t do that, sending you my gratitude, for taking me along. I seen you mentioned the goat, but did you notice the horse head, sitting on the floor in one of the places? It seemed so oddly out of place, that I rewound to make sure it was actually a horse’s head. Obviously, it appealed to someone at some point and who am Into judge, lol Anyway, do hope you and all visiting your page today enjoy a marvelous Monday....☺️

I want to think hers was also green but I can’t be absolutely positive about that. But there are so many wonderful things to see at antique stores that bring back precious memories. • When several of us from the office would get together and drive down to the WASHINGTON State Fair, we had one lady's hubby, who volunteered to be our anchor. He was a tall man and he'd go on a bit ahead of us women and keep track of everybody and keep us all going generally in the same direction. That left us free to pursue the booths and attractions at a sedentary pace and less chance that anybody would be separated from the group. He was also a handy help in carrying items we purchased. The job would have driven me crazy, but he took it as an essential job and seemed to take great pride in doing it well. I'm sure that it was more like herding cats than an afternoon tea.🤣❤️🤣 Prayers for health and safety!🙏❤️🙏

  • I love looking around at old things but so many of the "old" things I had as a child. The table tops were formica. We had several tables like that when I was a kid. The metal glasses you had as a kid, so did my family. I liked them because they kept a drink cold & I remember drinking kool-aid in them.

  • Awesome video. I know what you are saying. Brings back memories with a smile! I grew up in Indiana, even today I wish I had a clothes washer with the wringer on top. That helped with the drying time hung on the clothes line outside. I try to squeeze out few hand washing items and can't get it as well as that old wringer did. So yes enjoy stepping back in time. • “During World War I, pigeons were outfitted with tiny cameras and released over enemy territory. As the birds flew, the cameras clicked away, snapping photos. Since the earliest days of espionage, pigeons have been a spy’s best friend.” (Reference- National Spy Museum). I’ve seen some exhibits at the National Spy Museum in DC. Pretty neat.

  • Good Morning Jami, This was an enjoyable video. I enjoyed looking at everything and carrying on a conversation with You about each thing. The dining room table and chairs, my grandparents had the same thing. Oh the stuffed Goat head... Yeah wondered if Lester wanted Ringo stuffed after he passes? I love going through places like this. I'll probably watch Your Video several times to look at different things and on the other side of the building. I appreciate Your time and sharing Your life with us. Nancy

  • I REALY enjoyed the tour of the places you went! I love looking, and sometimes buying, special items at these places and have always wondered about this event in Texas. At 75, I recognize most of those things, which shows me just how rich and full my life has been thusfar. Even though I was born a few years after WWII, I know that Lester is correct about messages being sent via pigeon during the war! I have never seen a carrier like it with the covering. The chair the goat head mount was on appears to be a dental chair (since it has a headrest, otherwise I would have guessed a barber chair) without its cushioning, which does look a bit scary. An old electric chair is much more ominous-looking! The table is a formica top table from the 1950's. My family had a yellow one when I was very little. The chairs had chrome-framed structures that included chrome legs and had plastic upholstery on seat and back, not like those at the table you showed. Thanks for sharing your tour! ❤

  • Pigeons saved many lives during WW2 and In the UK we still remember our fallen animal heroes with purple poppies alongside red poppies for their human counterparts. The Dickin Medal or “Animals Victoria Cross” was awarded to any animal displaying conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty whilst serving with British Empire armed forces or civil emergency services. The medal was awarded 54 times between 1943 and 1949 - to 32 pigeons, 18 dogs, 3 horses, and a ship's cat - to acknowledge actions of gallantry or devotion during the Second World War and subsequent conflicts. Their heartbreaking stories are on Wickepedia 💜

We had those same colored metal tumblers when I was younger and I'm much older than you 😊 My mom loved Roy Rogers as a child and I recall when I was young running across a large chest full of all the things she saved. Toy guns in holsters, clothing, books, etc. No clue what happened to it all but would imagine to someone it would be worth a pretty penny. It would take me days to walk Round Top 😄
