  • ‼️Dubai today is 44 degrees, it is seen as 53 degrees on the phone... While driving on the road, I was talking to my wife about the lack of air conditioning, the windows were closed but it was still not cold enough inside the car, then the bus carrying the construction workers passed us and I was very upset and ashamed of myself. , the people in the bus look like they are dying from the heat, no one is smiling, all the windows of the bus are open so the air conditioner is not working or there is no air conditioning, this is an embarrassing system... UEA trying to make everything flashy, trying to make everything perfect, the ministry of labor or the royal unaware of it or It is very sad that it is careless or does not bring a certain standard...

    • Oil and Gas of Middle East are very limited. Remember Indonesia real size is as huge as Russia. Indonesia was and will never be idiotic Islamic. Our Indonesia's Gas and Oil only are much more than whole Middle East aside our much more limitless natural resources abundance in and on the ground. Wonder why their number 1 Muhammad is an illiterate couldn't read nor write. Not a complete multiracial not a multilingual yet never been living around the world all alone since childhood ;) even their royals are just idiot animals. I am one of oldest royal of Indonesia a complete multiracial multilingual living around the world all alone since childhood also a former young international muslim preacher/priest in my teenage after international private islamic modern boarding school, indeed I was in Abu Dhabi too before 8 years Europe 2002-2010. I am fluent in formal Arabic of the scholar, Dutch, etc. Sign that no need to revisit Europe, everything is just too poor, too ignorant, too dangerous there in those poor parts of the world the real third world countries: Europe, all western world in general. Even pickpockets in tiny Amsterdam are much more than whole supermodern world's largest city Jakarta (Tokyo and Jakarta are the only real world's largest supermodern cities. Dubai is a trashy joke. Jakarta is Winner of STA 2021, world's best sustainable public transportation. Jakarta is 6 times size of Paris, Europe's largest city and Jakarta is far above Paris is superiority and supermodern than too poor Paris). Real Indonesia has 3 timezones GMT/UTC +7, +8, +9 the scaling on world map since Mercator projection 1569 is terribly too small. It's dirty dumb politics of the real third world countries Western world and Middle East.

Oil prices went up significantly from 2020-2022. The FED has always „printed“ money, especially in 2020 when the Dubai Index was low. Now they are actually Quantatative Tightening but this has very little to do with the UAEs economy. At least not directly.

The government went all-out during a very brief, rigidly enforced lockdown to equip hospitals, vaccines, etc. All of this, plus the brilliant handling of the Expo 2020 Dubai kick-started the economy much earlier than the rest of the world. Dubai's handling of the Expo 2020 Dubai was a pleasure to see. I volunteered at the Expo and so am fully aware of how much effort went into making it a success in a post-Covid world. • Some garbage takes here. The mid 2000's was a time when Dubai was dumping topsoil onto desert, pumping it full of water and fertilizers and hoping things would grow. That's were the dropoff in areable land comes from. Your own graph shows that it's a return to the mean more than a "loss". Singapore has thrived being a stricktly import based city-state with a massive port and trade network. Dubai would not need to change much to do the same. Their sovereign debt is literally pennies on the dollar compared to their soveriegn wealth fund. They currently hold less than $200 billion in public debt, yet have funds in excess of $1 trillion, with over $2 trillion in oil reserves ready to be tapped. Public debt is pretty in-line with other first world economies and well ahead of emerging ones. Your assertion that "only taxes or printing money" pays debts is another garbage take. Economic activity by any means generates government revenues. Dubai could instantly wipe out all foreign, domestic, public, and private debts with a few years of oil revenues (which isn't even a massive part of their economy- at least you got that right). Human rights abuses are something entirely separate. They're inexcusable- but they're also not going to lead to some voilent economic collapse.

I always flew either Emeritus or Qatar airways from Hong Kong, many times on A380. Doha Qatar airport was under renovation during my 2 stopover, so I am sure it's high class now. Dubai's airport was the most enjoyable stopover for me + Emeritus flights itself. Passengers with over 5 hours layover get a free all you can eat buffet. If it's morning, it's breakfast buffet etc, just show your boarding pass. There's prayers areas, to refresh your self, because Muslim must wash up before praying. There's also sleeping long couches for longer lay over. There's also a supermarket inside the airport, selling fruits and vegetables. I buy my bottle water in the supermarket, snacks etc. I still think it's the most enjoyable airport for stopover 🙂 I think Emeritus will continue to be Dubai money maker. Not sure about the city I never leave the airport because tourist must apply for visa to leave the airport. I spent my vacation budget in Europe! I'm not a fan of high rises, shopping center. To see the dessert, I visited the Sahara in Morocco. The only other airport which can rival Dubai is the new Istanbul airport finished in March 2019, I hope it has a Metro line to the airport the next time I visit. There's no metro ready yet when I stop over in October 2021.

  • Dubai is totally an artificial creation. That sounds weird regarding cities, but many cities have grown "naturally" over time, that is they have the strong foundation of a supportive rural hinterland. Many cities out-grow this hinterland's capacity for support, but they also sit along natural lines of trade and so forth. Dubai is completely artificial. Dubai has no productive hinterland. It sits no-where important regarding trade. It's best appeal is that it can offer tax refuge and a place for more shady less regulated human activities to occur, but the issue is that this is hardly a unique feature to Dubai--any city could theoretically resort to such conduct and policies. Right now it is a playground for the global rich and somewhat immoral, but that wont last. Once the bubble bursts, it wont be able to keep up the facade, and people will realise it's just a dry dusty city in a really unpleasant climate. Never invest in Dubai unless you're planning on a quick turnover and will walk away sooner than later.

You know because we can’t dare outshine the west that should afford its citizens and especially women their safety! How dare the Royal families in each Emirate have visions for the future that strive to create a better future for us! There are literal sustainable communities up and running. • I am from belgium, we have a holiday apartment in marbella in spain. I can understand why people love dubai as a holiday destination. It is extremely safe, it has an amazing clean and safe and cheap metro, it has nice clean beaches, nice modern buildings, free clean toilets everywhere, amazing shopping malls, amazing hotels, fiendly people, good roads, amazing service everywhere, everybody talks english, amazing restaurants, it is extremely clean everywhere, cheap taxis, no graffiti, no beggers and scammers on the roads, ... Sorry but lots of things are a lot better in Dubai compared to Spain and so many other popular holiday destinations. And I looooooooooooooooove spain. Coming back to belgium was depressing, it was like going from heaven to hell. Belgium and so many countries with "sould and history" are like disgusting poor unsafe 3rd world countries compared to dubai.

    • @@frevebe7693 lived in Brussels for 7 years so yes, I understand, though I loved it. And everyone is different, thank god, but a holiday of nothing but beaches, shopping malls, bussed slave workers, no communal areas, just roads, nothing older than 20 years...for me that’s soulless. Give me dirty smelly Bourse, leafy Uccle or vibrant Saint Giles a thousand times over. By the way, what are the chances, I’m just a couple of miles from Marbella right now - not my holiday home, my parents though.

    • @@shelleyscloud3651 I can understand your points, Dubai is not my dream holiday destination but I enjoyed it very much. I would not go every year to dubai ofcourse. The biggest negative thing 4 me in Dubai are the laws, I am gay and that is a crime there. Not that we felt unsafe there as a gay couple. Big cities in Belgium are much more unsafe as a gay couple. I hope you enjoy marbella more than Dubai. :) A lot of nice things to do in that area.

  • Visited Dubai for two days summer 2022, but beside the mall and palm, it’s complete desert. Near the Atlantic hotel, the man made water canal is drying and the whole stripe of restaurants were ghosted very few people. Hopefully it’s the day we visit and nothing more but we were very surprise by the low tourists all. Could been it’s too hot?

    @gtrr3246@gtrr3246 Жыл бұрын
    • You should visit during the cooler months i.e from November till March and you’ll see how crowded it gets. There are tons of beaches and natural places you can visit. Dubai is not just about malls and the hotels. Trust me I live here. Summers are super hot so people avoid going to open spaces or eat out during the day.

  • Employers aren't allowed to keep their employees passport. That's totally against the rule the only time they can have it is when processing docs other than that they should give it to the employees. UAE the country is providing pre employment seminars in MOHRE to avoid this things from happening so that even those laborers know what are their rights.

    • I have lived in Dubai for years and have a lot of good things to say about the place, but what you said is 100% rubbish, it maybe illegal to hold someone's passport but the VAST majority of employers DO hold the passports of their workers. People like myself and other expects of western and higher level and professional employees don't usually have too, but the vast majority of the workers and nearly all hotel employees and labours 100% have their passports taken away in Dubai, to say otherwise is an insult to their cause of trying to improve their conditions. I knew someone who worked in a hotel who could not go home to see his sick father because they would not give him back his passport and when he did eventual get it months later he was told that if he did not return a close member of staff he worked with will have half wages for 12 months taken away as punishment for breaking his commitment, this is not unusual but a very common policy in the vast majority of hotels in Dubai. For women it can sometimes be much worse. I had a friend In the Royal Navy who visited Dubai back in 2002-3who through a very long story ended up in a slave market with people buying women, 100% legit slaves, he kept his mouth shut as he knew his life was on the line, when he got back to ship that evening he told his commanding officers but they just said he done the right thing as if he caused a situation on shore he probably would of gone missing or put in prison on trumped up changes and it was left as that. Dubai is a great city in a lot of ways but it also has a very dark side too.

Some said if Sheikh Rashid dies, his sons will start fighting and kill each other. In fact, I saw how wise leaders made Dubai famous for this guy who make fake video for likes. My inspiration is Sheikh Mohammed who asked the media guy if west can make it why don’t we can? Really making goose bumps. All the best dubai.
