How to remove 2017 Mazda CX-5 Front Bumper - Body Shop Basics diy how To Remove 2017 cx5 Front Bumper
This was a great video and exactly what I needed. I wrote out the specific steps for anyone else that needs it. To remove the bumper, don't bother removing all the clips for the fender trim and wheel well liner. Only remove the 2-3 closest to the bumper. The goal is to just remove the pieces that attach to the front bumper or prevent you from accessing the others that attach to the bumper. It will save you some headaches and prevent damaging that weird trim pieces on the fender trim closest to the door. Step 1 - Remove the plastic fasteners under the hood, holding the upper trim pieces on. 2 10mm hex bolts & 1 screw in addition to the plastic tabs. Step 2 - Remove the fender trim covers with plastic fasteners along the inside. Only need to remove the 3 plastic fasteners closest to the front of the car so you can do the next step. Step 3 - Remove the 10mm hex head bolt attaching the bumper to the car. Step 4 - Remove the plastic fasteners that attach the wheel well liner to the front of the bumper. Only need to remove the 3 closest the front of the car so they aren’t attached to the bumper. Step 5 - Remove the 2 plastic fasteners under the bumper that attach the underbody liner to the bumper & then remove the 9 Philips head bolts on the same underside (these are smaller than 10mm, not sure the size since I didn’t have a socket that fit. Step 6 - Pull the bumper (on the sides) from the body of the car to move it forward Step 7 - Disconnect the white plastic connector on the 2 proximity/radar sensors to allow the bumper to be removed Step 8 - Remove the plastic fasteners from the underside of the bumper, which are hidden beneath the under carriage liner The bumper can be removed now.
Thanks for the steps. I kind of thought that it wasn't necessary to remove the entire wheel well cover beauty trim.
How can you see where you are removing these screws at? This is useless unless you pan out to show exactly what area you started at and where you went from there. You're zoomed in way too much.
Thank you. I was able to replace the chrome pieces with this tutorial. Just removed the top and sides and was able to get at the screws that hold the chrome pieces.
i need to dip mine so bad =(
Is it necessary to remove the entire front bumper assembly to change out the grill? I was hoping to just remove the engine covers and access the grill from there.
@@conqwiztadore2213 Yeah I don't want to dip mine. That was fine for my badges. It looks very difficult to mask the chrome strips properly with tape. Plus I need to be able to scrub my chrome strip every week due to bugs. Plus I get lots of stones thrown up at the car on the freeway. I need something more resilient. I'm THINKING maybe the Carbon Edition pieces will be the solution.
So replacing the chrome pieces is easy? I assume you have to remove the front - is that correct? Thanks!
So you didn't need to remove the entire bumper? Just the top clips to do the chrome replacement? I have to do the same on my CX-5 and would rather not do an entire bumper removal. Please let me know.
Man next time put the camera on a tripod can’t see anything.
Thanks for the video, very helpful 👍🏻😎
tnx for vid
Where are you located ?
Excuse me sir, what if you have parking sensors in the pumber? How do you remove it ??
I`ve got eye cancer.......
A bit hard to follow. It looks like you were holding the recording device in one hand and popping off the fasteners with your other hand - impressive. It would have been far better if you had a helper to make the recording while following your actions. That would have allowed you to work with two hands and zoom out a bit more often to show exactly where you are working.
Yea I’ll stick to Mazda doing this 😮
not the best, but gives a hint on where to start....
Yea, a CX-5. Probably the front of the vehicle. Hard to tell with the camera zoomed in within millimeters of the surface. LOL
KAMERA NACH LINKS NACH RECHTS 🙉🙈🙉🙈🙉🙈
Camera skills pretty poor!
Shake it baby. Nothing to learn...
