Yeah but rockstar messed it up when they nerfed the tuner cars
US military veteran here. The reason for this being a 4 seater is that we would put weapons, ammo cases, etc in between the back seats

Killed me inside....stupid rims on a clearly offroad designed vehicle. Begged for some sick offroad rims and tires. Sidenote rockstar should make an offroad suspension kit for all vehicles.

The slant top roof is superior than the pickup bed style. You cant get shot through the rear when you have the slant top on.

“Why is this not a 6 seater?” It’s simply cuz in the actual H1 the engine and transmission sits pretty much right near to you and all of that stuff is moved higher than normal cars for clearance. There’s no seats in the middle cuz you’d basically sitting on the transmission or you’d be too scrunched over hitting your head on the roof

It’s because you’re sitting on the engine the engine is further in board so the white balance can be 50-50

i remember driving an old patriot in san andreas
This is a MIL spec vehicle meaning it is as close to military specifications for a rockstar game. That back area is on all military humvees the military vehicle this is meant to replicate. The trunk is usually covered in up armored versions with a slanted armor cab extension and the back area is for carrying equipment. In the invasion of Iraq marine recon units would often use the back area for storing rucksacks and radios as well as other equipment needed for the unit to not need to be resupplied every night including rations and water. The use of the back area allowed many marine recon units to travel long distances in a day contributing to the short duration of the conflict as US forces were able to take land so quickly that the defenders were not able to mobilize a substancial defense as units were always moving forwards. Conversely in urban combat environments they have seen polar opposite roles even being used to store bodies as in the battle of mogadishu when some humvees of struckers column transferred the bodies of some rangers killed in the defending of crash site one or the rally point to the cargo area. The reason that the cargo area was used for body transportation was that the original plan of having all rangers evacuate via two trips of a column of humvees and trucks was complicated by heavy casualties and losses of multiple vehicles in the convoy including one taking an rpg disabling the truck. This meant that there were too many wounded rangers for everyone to fit in the existing vehicles and the least wounded or un wounded would need to be dismounted. This means that because wounded soldiers take up more room than un wounded ones (because a soldier with a gut wound will need to lay down instead of sitting up) they didn’t have room in the vehicles for everyone. So they even used the back cargo areas during the battle of Mogadishu for the transport of dead and wounded rangers and delta force operators so that no one would be left behind for the bodies to be looted and disfigured. This is probably longer than you expected sorry if it’s boring tk me this is interesting but if not for you that’s all good here’s the tldr version Tldr sometimes backpacks food or water can go in the back so you don’t need to be resupplied as often or get more food and water as often or sometimes wounded or dead soldiers can be placed in the back for transport back to a field hospital.

Even though it's pretty cool, I'm afraid my brain isn't damaged enough to still buy gta online content in 2021 (almost 22)
In regards to why it's only a 4-seater; aesthetically, it could be more, but functionally, it wouldn't. As far as I'm aware, GTA has never allowed either players or NPCs to access seats in a vehicle which don't have their own door. Coupes with rear seats are functionally treated as two seaters. I imagine that animating and scripting players and NPCs getting out and lifting seatbacks, or smushing themselves against the steering wheel folding the seat while in it (I.e. The lazy way) would be complicated with little payoff: players are impatient and probably 95% would just ditch a car for a four door when needing to seat more than two people rather than sit through a longer animation. Plus, it'd create weird situations where rear seat passengers are sorta trapped unless the driver chooses to let them out.
Also the reason there's inly 4 is that the transmission is recessed up in the chassis, that's why there's that ridge/table between the seats.
Actually GTA V is the first GTA that allows more non seats. There are cars [such as this Hummer would have actually...] That invidivualds can enter back of the car, or back of convertibles by jumping on them. Sadly not mid seats but Rockstar has made efforts in to introduce more seats in less seat cars.
@@thattonnatoguywithafez8246 Yeah, that's true. I think it just comes down to whether they can feasibly have a relatively short enter animation. If it takes more than a second or two to enter a seat, most people just won't use that vehicle if they need that seat.

They kept the design almost identical to the real H1, my friend actually used to own a white H1. They’re only 4 seaters, because the center console is huge.
