I wouldn't even get free oil changes from the dealer. Jobs like that get tossed to the "new guy", where more mistakes can happen. Like you said, not all of them are bad, but why chance it? I'll do it myself and know it gets done right.
I agree , I to had nothing but problems with dealer. Never ever again , I do my own work.
I used antisieze on hub and wheel face and lugs for 40 years no issues ever and wheels never oxidized on and I'm in the rustbelt

Never seize on lug nuts is crazy
Ya don’t put anti-seize on lug nut studs and not on spark plugs. They’re already coated and can back out of the head. Lug nuts are the worst as most “techs” use an air impact gun and run all the nuts down until they don’t move anymore and they’re stripped from the jump.
Some engine parts i used from the dealer didnt perform as good as some of the aftermarket products i used from autozone.
Wonder what happened? The grease component itself on the threads will distort the actual torque value applied on the fasteners and if you use an impact to ugga dugga them down I could see why they would strip… I could also see some of them backing off. Does the material itself clog up the threads when serious torque is applied? That’s unfortunate
Isn't it a problem to use the impact tool and tightening these nuts too much? I use a bit of grease(less than a rain drop) on many bolts and nuts, but I've never seen anything like this. To me it looks like someone put too much of it in and over tighten it. I only use grease on bolts that are old and rusty, not on bolts that are new or in good condition. We should also remember that the use of any grease or oil changes the torque specifications, so you cannot tighten it with the same force as without it, especially with impact wrench.
Ive bought a oem mass air flow sensor from my toyota dealer and it didnt perform as good as the one from autozone which both were denso brand the one from autozone perform better not sure why
