I grew up with pre-MCU comic book movies. I appreciate what we have having experienced Ben Affleck as Daredevil, Tom Jane as Punisher, etc.

Hello; Just yesterday, I wrote a list of top actor/directors, such as Barbra Streisand, Robert De Niro, etc. However, with the time crunch as Spiderman 4, has Sam Raimey, makes a ton of sense; since, Raimey, has already directed a box office success, in Spidermen, No Way Home. And Raimey, is versed with the characters, plots etc. I believe that Spiderman 4, will be a Tour de Force, with box office recipes, critics and the public. Hooray, for Spidy! This is what I suggested in your last video about this. Sam Raimi for the Tom Holland Spider-Man 4 on the condition that he has approval and creative control of a Tobey Spider-Man 4. If I were Raimi, that is the negotiation I would make knowing the need a director asap.

I'd definitely feel reassured to hear Raimi took this project on. All the news about Sony rushing production on this has had me worried. As you say, I have faith he'd be able to slap something with impact given his familiarity with the character and marvel studios.
Wish they would just stick with the director that did the first 3 mcu spidey films, kinda don't trust anyone else at this point
They literally stated in the video that Watts turned it down. He's not interested. He made three successful Spider-Man movies. He apparently felt that was enough. Now Sam Raimi made three Spider-Man movies too, the first was great, the second incredible, the third bit of a let down. He's had a long break from the character and could easily redeem that last one with a new, much better one. He did a great job on Dr. Strange 2, imo at least, and the movie made money. Sounds like a match made in heaven to me! If anyone can do a better live action Spider-Man than Watts, it's hands down Raimi. You can't tell me with Spider-Man 2 under his belt that he isn't qualified, I hope they give it to him, I'm more excited by that possibility than even if they did manage to woo Watts back.

I agree with that assessment. I adore Raimi 's work, but when I heard Secret Wars, it didn't concern me a tad. He's just not a Filmmaker known for that sort of storytelling. I think the next Doctor Strange or Spider-Man are far more in his wheelhouse.

Wow, I have to wonder how the battle between Sony and Disney is behind the scenes. Sony has to see the MCU is the right place for Tom. As far as Raimi, this has to be a power move by Kevin. Having the OG director of some of the most iconic movies ever, most importantly Spider-Man, is a serious play. With Sweeney picked up, most likely for the next SM movie, you have to see the struggle. I wouldn't say that Sony's did a terrible job with the Spider-Man stories look at Morpheus look at Madame Webb and they probably destroyed Craven too because the storyline doesn't even come close to any of his character traits

They can easily use all 3. Tom: New trilogy with John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein at the helm, writing and directing Tobey: Sam Raimi directs 4th film, with a story about an older Spider-Man. Maybe a 5th one that adds a Miles Morales arc Andrew: Spider-Man joins The Exiles. Tons of potential for bringing in characters from previous films (Eric Bana as Hulk, Olivia Munn as Psylocke, Anya Taylor Joy as Majik, etc) or fan casting (like happened with Krasinski)

If this happens I don't have the best hopes to be honest, make no mistake I love Raimi but we saw what happens when he's forced to direct a spidey film with inadequate time to prepare. (Spider-man 3)I'd love for him to have the required inspiration, time, and grace period allowed to explore when he creates; If he doesn't then I fear for this film, especially considering how rushed Marvel projects have seemed as of late.
