You mentioned crumb coat and now I can't stop thinking about how sick it would be to see you decorate a cake.
Yessssss!!! Do it 🎂
Thisssss
Definitely!
He did a cake in this video too! kzhead.info/sun/apyFfcegpWV_iJs/bejne.html
YES
I really appreciate that you reframed the "failure" as active problem solving. The fact that you leave your whole process in and don't edit out any turns a project takes is one of my favorite things about your content.
I'm so glad you like that! cause I mess up a lot haha
@@Shmoxd oh! you mean you kick ass at solving all the artistic problems?! yasss!
Ditto.
I'm glad that you decided to show this & give us a part two instead of just scrapping it & making our part two the only video. It shows us that anybody can make mistakes & that it's ok to make them, even if it means you've got to start all over again. I hate when one of my projects doesn't turn out & I've got to start over again. It's so frustrating! But hey, we're only human lol
Yes, it really helps those of us, who have a fear of failure, to realize that we all make mistakes, but you can fix most of them.
I have ADHD and I have wanted to make a KZhead channel for my art forever. But my interests are so varied I always thought my channel would be a garbled mess that doesn't make sense as a unit. I love this channel because you are so good at branding your videos with your logo, your intro, your music... all of your videos are just so... Shmoxd... even though you do a ton of different types of art. It gives me hope that maybe some day I can figure out a way to make a KZhead channel that works.
Honestly I relate so much and I have no experience to back this up but just go for it! Just wing it and you’ll (probably) eventually end up with a channel that works. Plus you can create as many channels as you want if you have a bunch of emails so a fresh start is always available
I think you should do it at least for fun and explore come on you only live once that's why I started my channel one of video got 16k I was shooketh that feeling of putting effort and people recognize you and your art its amazing do yea who knows if your channel blow up ..
I think now days people like different and weird ..
i'm subscribing to your channel rn so i can support you when you start posting :) if you start on a diff channel lemme know ok
I relate too tbh. I just started posting some covers and drawings but I get easily discouraged cause I'm thinking no one will care (and of course they won't ever get monetized because they're covers). I think the key is to "do cool things just because", not especially for people to watch.
The original rugs are a lot more than just trendy! Faig Ahmed’s work is designed to bring attention to the artistry of traditional Azerbaijani textiles. Just want to give credit where credit is due :)
me too
You rock :)
Maybe in part 2 you can address this ...? feels odd not to
@@Shmoxd you didn't even address it, but anyways....
His work is amazing and I love that he draws attention to the art of Azerbaijan. Thank you I was looking for a comment about his work.
"you can look at failure as active problem solving" Nice!
You should do a project where you make something out of failed projects and turn it into something new
Always appreciative of when you share your failures/misadventures with us. It's very reassuring because with all the amazing finished products I see online I feel like I'm the only one who makes mistakes and that's very disheartening. It's great to be able to follow the learning curve with you too. Thanks Brian :)
Don't get discouraged:) everything that feels like a mistake usually will turn out to be a good creative spin!
Some strong Simone Giertz energy!
Dude I've gotta say I love both of your intro songs soooo much that I start vibing to them with all my organs and it feels soooo smooth and chill and I just couldn't keep myself from telling it to you. I hope when I die this intro carries me to the other world.
Damn that’s dedication hahaha
thank youuuu!:):)
Thank you!
Me, watching this video while working on a project "I literally have to watch something while working... I don't have adhd" Me: 👁️👄👁️
I LOVE Faig Ahmed! His glitching rugs are just so dope
8:21 scared me- I was on my laptop and thought it froze on me. My heart stopped lol (I am notorious for having laptops freeze and start to beep really loudly)
I can't help but think that you could have bought a short rug and cut it in half 😁😁
Or he could use the middle for another, related project ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Lol ikr 😂
My exact thoughts throughout entire video....😳😳😳😳😳☻ good thing he is really creative enough to use the rest too, I think he wont throw it out...😅😅😅😅☻😳
They don't really make rugs with type of design in shorter sizes. They are persian. They are almost always skinny long rugs.
@@dingustime yah!:) that was my plan!
Honestly very comforting to see the "mistakes" online. I get super discouraged if my first project doesn't look good in my eyes
2 videos in a day, must be christmas soon ✨
and I got one more for yah! haha me procrastinating at my finest
i dig how you had a lil easter egg, intentional or not, for this video in your from broken to art vid! the melting rug design was on your computer screen :~) and like everyone else has probably already said, i love your honesty when you have some active problems to solve!! lol social media turned us all into raging perfectionists, if we weren’t already..your realness is a sight for sore eyes and minds 🧡
I'm obsessed wirh Faig Ahmed too!! even before the whole rug tufting trend. I analyzed one of his pieces for my IB art comparative studies!!
when I knit something from the beginning, without a pattern, I probably undo at least some parts of my work more than 4 times, I really liked that you showed this part of the creating process
I’ve never been diagnosed with ADHD, Buuuuutttt, I have to be watching shit/listening to something while I work as well, I have a lot of the “symptoms” or whatever you call them!!! Keep pushing through with the art bro!!! It’s what keeps me sane!!!
It's my reason to subscribe, and same, i haven't been diagnosed of ADHD as well but i too need to watcg something when im doing something and im kind of artistic as well so i mostly watch yt vids while drawing
Thank you so much for include "fails" in your videos. Seeing how makers handle this is so important. Can't wait to see how you overcome the setback.
Is anyone else mad that Brian doesn't have more subs? He 👏deserves 👏the👏 millions 👏
This was the best thing KZhead could have suggested me.....probably never going to make a rug. But I regret nothing.
it’s like when you make a good grilled cheese, cut it, and pull the piece apart and the cheese is just all melty and beautiful
Active problem solving instead of failure is why you're so amazing. I loved watching your process here and am looking forward to part 2.
im so glad that you showed us your failed attempts and made content put of them because as an artist still in school i feel like i always gabe to have all the good ideas and make them well from the start, and you just show how flase that is
Love the positive message of looking at failure as an opportunity for problem solving, as a creative you will 9/10 run into these tinny things that just don't work. I love how you decided to make it again from scratch so you're happy with it. This rug turned out great, but i think it's cool that you're happy to adapt and improve ^^
Omf I love you so much. Everytime a video pops up from you I'm so excited by your projects :) they're always so cool
I really appreciate you posting the process. Trial and error sometimes, but that's how it goes. Excited to see the finished product 🤘🏻
dude I always admire how you push through mess-ups and troubleshoot, I'm totally the kinda person that's like "if I can't do it perfect the first time then I'll never do it." Trying to work on that
You are just by far the best art channel on the entire platform I always get so hype when you post
I love how you still post the thing that still don’t turn out exactly how you wanted them and I agree with your way of thinking about ‘failure’ :D
Just gotta say, your videos are my favorite to watch and I get so excited when you upload 😁
man i think it's rad as all hell that you're actively showing people that projects take a lot of reworking! im excited to see how you tackle this one in the next part :)
no but seriously it is great to see yor videos, you are someone that inspires me and I just are amazed of all that things that you have done
Faig Ahmed's work is so beautiful it must take so much time to create these designs! i'm sure your design will come out gorgeous too 🤍
It’s just not a shmoxd video without a minor (or major) mishap 😛 love that you show not only the perfect result, but also the not-always-so-perfect journey to the final piece.
Been loving the different concepts in this past few videos
I'm loving the funky little shmoxd in the corner of the thumbnails :)
I have never seen this done before!! So creative 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Now this is what I call a refreshing type of content! I subscribed instantly!
Wow 2 videos in one day stoked sheesshh cant wait for the collab vid.💜💜💜😍😍
Seeing this not working and you reacting wisely, helps me not to freak out when i mess what i do :) thank u
I’m loving these rug videoss!! So creative keep it up :)
"I constantly have to be watching something while I work" I felt that in my soul, I have whole playlists dedicated to stuff I can watch while crafting lol
your mumbles are amusing and relatable. i like your personality. def gonna see what else you're up to
Love Faig Ahmed, amazing artist! Just learned about him In art history 🙌
his stuff is so so rad!!!
Faiq amed is from 🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿
literally i couldn’t brush my hair without watching a video and yours was the special video i stumbled upon to watch while brushing my hair
I love seeing the progress!
watching your vids always gets me in a good moxd
it feels like my birthday right now! 2 videos in 1 day!
The vibes of this video are so absolutely great
Thank you for showing the process 🙌🙌🙌
Wowowowowow. 2 videos in a row? What a treat!!!!!!!
Me: Wow this guy crafts alot of different stuff if he had ADHD he's definitely just following the Dopamine Him at 2:21 Me: I KNEW IT
Ur dedication is so inspiring
this rug is awesome! also love your email campaign it feels so personal whenever I receive them 😌🤙
I love it! thanks for the art schmo
I binged your videos till 1am. Woke up at 7:30 to a new video 💕
This was a great video, thank you for posting it. I hope this project works out for you.
Not only was this the best use of time for an April Fool's theme, but your screen swipes are so good! Thanks for posting a "problem solving" video; it's inspiring!
Ngl i think your intro is one of the coolest on youtube!
Loveee showing “failure” online, my first instinct was that this was a waste of time for me to watch, but “active problem solving” is just a dope perspective. Reminder to self to Keep growing
I actually toured on one of Faig Ahmed’s pieces at the museum I used to work at!! I love his work so much
You're channel really inspires me to make things for myself. I'm going to try and make a pair of leather boots over the summer, super excited!
It's 4:12 AM here in Brazil but who needs to sleep when there's a new video?
Loveee Faig Ahmed’s work ! As a textile major I wrote a paper about his work and learned so much about the amazing craftsmanship of these Azerbaijani rugs! Hope to see one of his pieces IRL someday.
I so admire You on taking risks and letting Yourself admit the defeat on the first attempt. I have a huge problem with failures leading to wasting materials. I know that it is a part of the process, especially when one is learning new techniques and trying to grow as an artist, but I am so afraid of being wasteful it almost freezes my creativity. If someone here have some tips on how to change this mentality - please, share them with me.
We keep going, we love it!!
It's part of the process dude, repeating, getting messy, failing and stuff , but I always watch your videos because I think you are a really creative person that don't give up, I see you with a bright future as an artist just keep working, greetings from Mexico XD
Really cool concept!!
This is so cool dude!
Is always needing to watch something an ADHD thing? I forgot and now I feel better. Thank you Sigmund
That intro is so sick!
This is amazing! Cool idea and fallow thru
LOL @ 2:20 oh my goodness as I'm watching your video for the first time folding laundry....I feel CALLED OUT haha Hopefully part 2 is out cause I still am not done the laundry
Yes! Through our “failures” we learn and we get to try again :)
Thank you for sharing the good, the bad and the rugly
Rugly 🤣
I saw this in the background of the other video and I was chanting "I must be patient." Over and over again
hahha yessssss:):)
Was about to go to sleep guess not, what’s another 10 minutes lol
hahah who needs sleep ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You r sooooo talented
Just shows that things don’t always work the first time. Great idea.
Love the intro!
Hey, artists do test swatches all the time. Usually they're not this big, but hey. You do you.
i like the video! can’t wait to for part 2
Hey man! This is very cool. I also like the commentary about creative problem solving, so true. I know you're busy, but do you have in mind if you'll do more steel rings to sell online? They're dope 😊
Pretty darn neat!
Definitely a thick, less porous tufting cloth. I am honestly really happy to see a failure because you're an adept artist in many mediums. Makes me feel better about the process and potential failure
I'd be really interested in seeing you tuft the non-glitchy part of the rug too. Seeing your signature motifs in a traditional rug style would be super interesting, not to mention, then you'd have no trouble with color matching
This is such a good channel
my friend thanks for the effort on uploading 2 vids the same day ;))
One of the issues you might be running into is the monks cloth you got is a bit too loose. I know for punch needling, you generally want to get the 2 by 2 style monks cloth because it’s the tightness of that style that will help keep the loops together. The one you are using is more for Scandinavian style tapestry work, which is a bit different. For tufting I believe there is also a different material as well. Try and get your monks cloth as taut as possible.
I think you might have better luck making a normal rug on top and then adding in the melting pattern- using a second hand one is cool, but it seems the fibers are more dense and are definitely different material, so it’ll never be perfect. Excited to see what you come up w :)
Youre an artist
"Good luck future Brian" 😆❤
If I could just spend one day with him to absorb his creativity and motivation 😭🤣
Ooooooh I loved this video from the very beginning but then you threw in a Rick & Morty reference and it just took it over the top haha
Chromatic aberration in the intro looks awesome.
Pulling an all nighter just to watch all of shmoxd's videooooos lesgo!!
heyyyyoooo:):) can't wait for you to start making vids
You're using the wrong cloth for tufting over looped yarn designs. But that's what making samples is for!
ahhhhh thank you:):)
First time seeing the new intro it’s sweet asf
