And no I don’t see curry as a rival for Bron, as individually it wasn’t really a contest. It’s more Bron vs the Warriors same to the Celtics situation. Same with how Jordan didn’t really have one rival in his time as he was always better than everybody. His rival were whole ass teams like the pistons. It’s not like it was with Bird or Magic where they really tried to one up each other and a different person would win the individual battles. Bron and Jordan were always above everyone they played against in their prime.

  • 23 year old Lebron (as a SOLO superstar) took the eventual champs (a team led by 3 1st-ballot HOF'rs) to a game 7. The previous season, 22 year old Lebron (as a solo superstar) beat the Pistons to reach the Finals. Lebron's dominance prompted BOS to make a power move and put the Boston Big 3 together. That BOS team was absolutely LOADED, and solo Lebron still damn near beat them. In fact, solo Lebron did better against BOS than Kobe's loaded Lakers team did in the Finals that year. What Lebron did his first 7 years in the NBA was unreal. It's a darn shame how Jordan lovers in the media have belittled Lebron's greatness in the eyes of many NBA fans...just to protect Jordan's GOAT crown. They had to do something to belittle what solo Lebron did because Jordan was getting swept in the 1st rd as a solo star. And don't give me that bulls**t talk about "but Jordan had to face Bird's Celtics". FOH! Jordan also lost 3-1 to the Bucks in the first round. The Bucks were a really good team, but not a great team. So Jordan's playoff futility as a solo superstar wasn't just because he played the Celtics. That Bucks team in the mid-80s wasn't as good as the '08 Big 3 Celtics. So the '08 Big 3 Celtics would have swept Jordan's ass out of the playoffs just like Bird's Celtics did in the mid 80s.

    • Cornell Cannon Ok kids, class is about to start, with facts, like or not. First, Michael Jordan do lost in the first round the first three years, but Lebron didn’t even make the playoffs the first two years. Chicago Bulls didn’t make the playoff for the last three years before Jordan arrive and put them on the map. The teams that eliminate Jordan were teams with 50+ wins, and he lost as ROOKIE against Milwaukee 59-23 and then: Boston Celtics 67-15(NBA Champions, arguably one of the best team in history) Boston Celtics 59-23(went to the finals) Detroit Pistons 54-28(went to the finals) Detroit Pistons 63-19(NBA Champions) Detroit Pistons 59-23(NBA Champions) And the rest is history. And is not about just more rings and not losing in the finals, is: 10 Scoring Titles 1 Defensive Player of the Year 5 MVP 3 NBA Steal Leader 9 All Defensive First Team (from 88-98, last one at age 35) Career Stats: 30.1pts, 6.2rb, 5.3ast Lebron Stats: 27.1pts, 7.4rb, 7.4ast And more. • It's weird actually going back and watching a younger (technically not yet fully developed) James play. There is a lot of contact throughout this game (which people claim he couldnt play through). He was never complaining as he does now (cus they never call the fouls on him and the whole league complains now). He was literally going one vs 5 (yes im exaggerating but he was tryna do everything himself). I dont think i've see him take a lot of consecutive shots today as he did in the beginning of the game. He literally did not pass or look to pass on all the first couple of possessions. Even the commentators stated that he realized no one else is gonna help him. He played pretty good defense, and i think he realized, which he has known all his career, that you need a TEAM to win a chip. It's these games that nullify the narratives of "he doesnt have a bag" "he doesnt have a killer instinct" and "he cant play in a physical era." He shows his all around game here. His 3, his drive, his handles, his finishes around the rim, his defence, and the i need to take most of the shots to give us a chance. He also had much more to learn at this point as well.

His ability to find the drive lane and fight thru contact is truly MJ lvl and I'd say even better since he doesn't fly over people. He barrels right thru them. In this game Celtics are playing zone to incite a double team for LJ and he just keeps charging them thru them like a madman. Of course everyone from boston knows how special he was, but if pierce played today with all these variety of access on nba games even if he's not a human highlights machine he'll be more appreciated compare back then.

  • I remember during Bird time how I just knew he would carry the Celtics to a win,felt Lewis did same for a spat beforE ( RIP) he past away. Then came Walker n Pierce time. Pierce always gave me that assurance like Bird. How sad I was when he left but thanks to KZhead I can view them good days again, thanks KZhead....truly that smile on that free throw that rolled in was a GRATE SMILE...Bruh I’m one of your BIGGEST FANS n happy to see you still working for the NBA

    • So many excuses for Lebron. What happened in 2010. When the Cavs we're favorite and had equal talent that was younger. What happened in 2009, when Lebron was dead even vs Orlando? What happened in 2011 when his squad was superior in talent vs The Old Mavs?

    • @@BoosterGoldEarth6 yeah, what happened when LeBron put up 39-8-8 in the ECF, man? What did happen? So many excuses. He should have put up at _least_ 40-8-8 if he were a _real_ all-time great.

    • @@BlueGrovyle what your point?

      @BoosterGoldEarth6@BoosterGoldEarth6 Жыл бұрын
    • @@BoosterGoldEarth6 the point is that the expectations for this guy have always been unrealistic, from the moment he set foot in the playoffs for the first time in 2006. 2011 is deserved criticism and makes no sense even being mentioned in your comment because no one excuses him for it. 2009, he played great in every game except for game 6. He receives heat for 2010 also, as many people called him a quitter that series, and I won't mention what was going around at the time since you likely already know about that. At the end of the day, he's a human. Phenomenal athlete since he stepped on the court, fell short sometimes, but held his weight more often than not and, after this season's over, will have left us with 16 postseasons filled to the brim with spectacular moments that will inspire future players for years and years. I think he did a pretty good job, shortcomings aside, especially considering that no basketball player before or since has experienced the level of media scrutiny that this guy has. You can bring up the years he didn't win without context and with a justification of "no excuses" all you want, but most of us are here to tip our hats to one of the greats. Simple as that.
