The BTS members are such hard workers. They DESERVED to be treated with respect same with all the other guests. She should NOT have asked them during the second visit OR even ever. It’s a disgustingly rude question to ask and she should be doing research or at least know boundaries to RESPECT these guests. I also found it really heartwarming when they pointed at army when they didn’t understand thinking it meant if they ever loved anyone. It shows they really care for their fans and don’t just consider them people they make money from. Edit: I’m actually really happy RM stood up for what was right in the place of the other members. It really shows how connected they are and how much they care about each other.

This is exactly right. When I, as a Korean, first heard Ellen ask BTS about hooking up with their fans, I was literally in shock. That was SO rude to ask them such a nasty question. No wonder what Ellen’s personal life would be like.

I can understand if people outside of the west find it offensive/rude due of culture differences. Btw, "Hook Up" could mean either dating another person or having intimate relationship with another person. Direct translate a language to another will often lead to mistranslation.
Ellen does make people uncomfortable while interviewing, but you really don’t know what actually happened. BTS are really humble and they didn’t revealed anything or talked about never goin to her either. I don’t really like Ellen but just assuming what might have happened is just wrong. This video is so dramatic, I think BTS should know what they are getting themselves into, the question wasn’t even as insensitive as she’s making it look, everyone was laughing and just enjoying being on the show. If they were SoOo uncomfortable why did they go in a second time? Based on the Kpop industry, the artists are told what to do/say and what shows to be on by their agency. If they have to go to Ellen show even if they are uncomfortable, they still have to. Usually when someone has a bad rep, they are cancelled in korea and no one wants to associate themselves with that person. Ellen has a bad rep now and the company probably dont to associate the boys with her show anymore

About the dating question, of course they understood it immediately but what surprises me is that for any interview (at least with idols), the questions are validated way before the shooting and their answers are prepared beforehand so the question is: was this question not on the list and Ellen actually trapped them (which wouldn't surprise me...) ? 🤔
I am an indian army and my personal opinion is that whenever a foreign interviewer wants to interview bts they must do a little bit research on kpop and bts . The way sakshma interviewed bts was very impressive . She didn't ask any uncomfortable questions but she asked very intellectual questions based on their hardwork, hardships in life , their career etc . In kpop dating has to be really private . BTS are soo busy on their comebacks . I feel that they don't get enough time to sleep . Jin also mentioned in his previous vlive on August 9 2021 that he sleeps like at 1 or 2 and the others like 3 or 5 . Jhope and jk did a vlive like at 12 30 am KST. If we see this they don't even have have time to sleep how can they have time to date? Armies don't bother if they date because they r 23 -28 year old boys so there is nothing wrong in doing it . Protect these young men!! We LOVE BTS! ♡ As an American, even I was shocked and embarrassed by Ellen Degeneres' rudeness and lack of cultural sensitivity for BTS. They are internationally acclaimed stars. How do you interface with people of other cultures as an interviewer without cultural awareness and sensitivity? I am so glad they translated and reacted with appropriate horror at Ellen's question. She was trying to set them them up for her own selfish ratings and views without regard to their reputation. I really appreciate how jimmy fallon knows how to respect others culture whereas ellen on the other hand is really insensitive. I was really shocked when ellen asked them abt hookups. I remember when Ellen invited Marie Kondo and she was so unsettling towards her. Marie Kondo is a small adorable sweet woman, who doesn’t know English well and she was disrespectful towards her. I haven’t watched their interview, mainly because I am not familiar with K-Pop. But if it is Ellen, these guys did the right thing choosing to be respected!
I am personally glad BTS is never dealing with Ellen ever again and that gives me peace of mind. It’s a lack of respect to not research the culture beforehand and/or to disregard it. As a Korean-American, I’m offended by Ellen’s question as there’s a bias toward American behavior and a disregard for what is the norm for Koreans. Especially as this kind of scandal (if one HAD “hooked up” with a fan ) could end a career in Korea. I don’t understand how she could not know this. I don't think she "didn't know" about the cultural difference. On the contrary, I'd bet money she asked the "hook-up" question on purpose. She's notorious for making her guests uncomfortable and then making their discomfort the butt of her joke. In hindsight she's kind of a bully.
Having that man in a wig jump out to scare them on their last appearance is another example of Ellen being a bully. And that's not "cultural differences," that's just being mean.

I'm a 15 year old girl too but that doesn't mean that I keep putting 'I love you' messages in BTS vlives(Im not criticising anyone), even if I do that absolutely means as love towards seven elder brothers. This ellen is absolutely outrageous. Just before I watched this video I was watching one of their interviews on ellen show(ps. I didn't know they broke contact with ellen) and suddenly I felt really angry at ellen, I didn't know why so I searched BTS and ellen and found this video... Ellen had the tendency to make people uncomfortable, not just with BTS but she has done it with other celebrities as well. The only thing is the celebrities in The US are used to that behaviour from ellen. They even laugh sometimes, because they know the way she is, but is is totally different for BTS, because their culture is completely different. She should get more educated in other peoples cultures and realized that, she should be respectful to others. To me, she is a nasty person, thinking she can do or say anything she wants just because is her show and she is famous. I aplaude BTS for not wanting to go back to her show. It’s okay, they don’t need her to promote them on her show, they are Already Famous, and other people had them on there shows. BTS don’t need that garbage from her. I personally think these aren't factual reasons, these assumptions and theories about why they don't support or associate with Ellen. However, BTS I support you for not being around Ellen because she does make her guest uncomfortable by doing too much. Along with accusations of mistreatment, racism and rude behavior, I can understand why they don't want to come to her talk show again.

I'm all for being culturally aware when approaching someone of such things. It's pretty horrendous behavior she did that. The show is notorious for toxicity, rudeness, insensitivity, restrictions, and just ridiculous "rules", I'm disappointed it's still even a show that continues. If we want to only see A list celebs than fine, but other celebrities are still celebrities. Foolishness.
Jimmy fallon, james corden,jessi and the weekly idol hosts are THE BEST HOSTS EVER i love how they make their idols feel comfortable and respected and just do them. They make their idols feel at home and i just adore the hosts for it.

Well if it happened a second time that means the translator did not inform Ellen the first time or she flat out ignored him and did her own thing. At the end of the day these guys are Korean. Their culture follows its own set of social rules and privacy policies. Whether BTS went back on the Ellen show or not, from that time to now, is still no big deal. Respect is a two way door. Anyone playing god gets a reality check outside their box. BTS is a platinum group that's rich and famous and internationally accepted in all pop social circles. Going back on the Ellen show won't hurt them in the slightest. In fact, as of 2022 to 2023, BTS become more popular because of it. To the point, BTS now individually create solo careers for themselves and explore greater avenues of music and dancing.

No, they DID NOT say anything about it themselves, it's YOUR analogy so just write that in the title, like just say "The reason why..." instead of "BTS reveals why..."
