  • I honestly don’t know whether to say thank you or fuck you. I watched this edit yesterday and was so intrigued by their dynamic I had to watch the 12 episodes. Let me tell you it was not a FUN SUNDAY. Heartbroken, but loved every painful second. You are an artist, this edit is amazing.   • This is still one of the most profoundly beautiful and powerful series that I've ever watched. It really impacted me and it felt like the story was genuinely written to perfectly mirror my school/university life. It was like watching a film of myself through Connell.

    • I've never watched the show but I thought I'd LOVE the book based on how much people hype it up and how good the show has looked from some of the clips I've watched. I read the book tho and it was rly disappointing. I was expecting a major emotional rollercoaster but I couldn't connect with either characters and I didn't even CRY and I always cry at books. EVEN WHEN I DISLIKE THE CHARACTERS I USUALLY CRY. Idk if it was her writing or what but it was very meh..

  • God this series tore something out of me and built something in its place. I had a "where do we stand" friendship like this with someone who is/was near and dear to my heart despite it never developing into something more :( We connected like we had known each other our whole lives. He kind of even looked like Connel, and a couple of people have said that i look like Daisy Jones. (What are the chances lol) But, after high school ended, we would hit each other up on and off via text but neither of us ever committed to seeing the other person irl. He would write "i miss you's" and i would respond, but then he would go mia. Sometimes i did too. I think we were both scared. Now too much time has passed and my feelings have slipped away. But...i think deep down, he will always be my first love. :( Nobody comforted me, understood me, joked with me, looked at me, talked with me the same way that he did. We just clicked. Perhaps we weren't meant to be anything more than platonic, and that's okay

  • In my head cannon, they’ll meet again when older and wiser and more settled, after Marianne gets everything wonderful she deserves in life, and Connell has the courage to pursue her above all other desires. And in 15 years we can have a sequel with these two wonderful actors, and it’ll be glorious, kind of like the Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy trilogy.

  • LOVE and HATED this book and series. Been married 25 years and a few failed relationships before I can tell you and anyone who has been in a relationship can relate the those moments when you feel like a total stranger to that person laying next to you who you think is all you live for. This story encapsulates that pretty well. Also the poor souls who get mixed in between fucked up toxic relationships, like collateral souls, love sucks, but who can live without?

  • i just saw this show and i loved it. i wish marianne went to new york with connell. they are perfect for each other but i totally understand why she isnt going. i wish they would make a season 2 and they would finally be together again

    • @@adnanraflifaisal9601 she said she wanted to stay in the country and be with her family which to me is weird considering her brother and mom arent nice to her. and connell did say he will be back in 1 year and asked her to wait for him and she said she doesnt know what will happen by then. its weird because i feel like marianne cant be single for long time she has to have someone. she supposed to be with connell

    • @@NintendogsPisces Because a year is actually a really long time and a lot of thing can happen in a year. She told him not to promise anything because she doesn’t want to impose waiting on each other. And if ever one of them does fall for another person, they wouldn’t hold the other accountable. You meet a lot of people in a year and could easily get to a hundred. Marianne didn’t follow him to New York because that’s HIS thing. SHE has her own thing and her own life. With regards to her family, there’s nothing wrong if she ever did stay for them. Whatever happens, that was her family and one way or another, she wants to fix that.

    • I think she didn’t trust him to treasure her. I think somewhere in the back of her mind, she never felt completely secure with him, and it looks started in high school.
