I'm not good at tactics and stuff like that so I always download some tactic and if it suddenly stops working it always ends the same way: Trying stuff for 1-2 games --> it's not working --> stop playing fm for a few weeks --> start again but with a new save --> play at least 2 seasons --> repeat from the beginning

issue 1 is : what team are you playing due not all tatcis work with a bottom team so you need to look what fits your players. Second is just keep going at it, you learn more from failing due you learn what is going wrong due when its all goes well, you still no idea what does the good thing and what does the bad thing.
Remember that your team needs time learning the new tactics u propose, patience is the key
Just set up a system, barebones as possible, then like Z said think about how to get where you want by adding more instructions slowly. Don't just click every option, or try to force a square peg tactic into a round hole. Have at least three tactics saved.
You need to be calm, doing a new save just because your tactic is not working... that's not good.

😂 true but I learned most of what I know about football in general from Zealand. As a dumb American who picked Liverpool to support because I liked the chicken in their logo and YNWA is a cool slogan😂 Now it's my favorite sport even more then American football which I played for 13 years. The beautiful game is great and these people may not always need help but there's always someone watching who does😂
I think the problem is that most people in this channel already watch Zealand and maybe even other channels, so they don't need the very basic advice. Or maybe the people that desperately need help are afraid of being told they suck lol.

You're not the only one that caught the bug...welcome aboard!
@@willmena96 Even though I know the game of soccer inside and out, I don't know FM. These "real life" sessions, which I think this may be the first I've seen, are extremely helpful. There's still noobs like myself out there!
Many complain about being too weak after promotion and don't know what to do. I went from Spanish 4th tier straight to 1st div and ended 3rd on my first year with 15M wages while the next worst team had 50M. The key is to really do a thorough scout for the players that have the perfect attributes to work in your tactic as you'll have no budget. For example, if you want to play possession you'll need good mentals, good stamina and work rate, and good passing. I played low lines and used tall players to win with set pieces and fluid counters and it worked out well lol. The other key point is that tactic familiarity, cohesion, leadership and determination seem to play an insanely important role. I lost a lot more the 2nd year in the 1st div because I sold some of the worse team leaders and brought actually great players, but friendships, familiarity, happiness and cohesion have proven to be massive, so maybe don't try to sell an old player who isn't so good but is playing well, and let him be another year to help the youngsters settle in. High determination has carried some low CA players for me too. (Of course tactics are vital too but that's trial and error with the pieces you're given) Hope it helps.
I agree with this advice so much From experience. I sometimes think that people panic after they get promoted and they think Oh were bad but Infact they might not be. I think the single thing that contributes to this is the season preview. Recently Ive started to not take it as seriously because it changes a lot based on results so the better you play it then goes up during the season. I got similar success just playing a 5-3-2 that was more attacking in its approach to yours and I got back to back promotion after a first season where I got 2nd in the 4th tier. But from then on I just signed better players along with some good youngster I could sign on frees combined with some experienced and proven lads and I got promoted back to back from 4th to 2nd tier and then got ninth and then I won the league second season in that league to get out of the 2nd division to the 1st. Then had a year like you where I got into the UCL by finishing 5th and then got to a UCL final in the first season I was in it but I did lose that final like 5-0 to PSG. I moved to a 5-2-1-2 in la liga but I made sure I had the playing personnel for it and wasn't too far from what I used before. I think the 3 pillors to performing well and overchiving is have a solid tatic,Keep improving and bringing the players in who can improve the team within that tatic, Sign some youngsters combined also with some experienced and or established players, Dont mess around with tactics too much when you get promoted and stick to what you used the previous season. I think team cohesion, Team happiness and then having great managerial support from the players has a huge impact on performance and you can just ride that wave of momentum and do bits.

Agree. I came in 5th and got Champions league after getting promoted to the prem. Cohesion, hapiness, intense preseason combined with depth and squad rotation … that shit will do a looottt for you. Add in some good talent and you’re cooking with gas

5:43 there's actually a trick that i use personally when dealing with partial stats which is i compare the partial stats player with a player on my club that the same roles then count the difference between their attributes and usually the number is pretty accurate
appreciate the solution, Im confused what you mean by counting difference if one of the player's stats are in a range. do you mean which stats the game says one player has better than the other? or something else?
@@willbruh6536 I think: The player you are scouting will show the same specific stats for their position. E.g. CM always shows passing vision etc. Just compare the the partial stats to your own player - this provides a good base for the overall level of player he likely is.

Low block aggressive tactic always works for me. People tend to think a low block means not many goals but i just won the bundesliga in my 2nd top flight season with HSV and done it last year in ligue 1 with palermo

Hello Z please help 😅. I really hope you see this post. Im managing N. Forest So I've noticed this. If I simulate a game with "Instant match" the result is usually in my favour, even if my team loses it has like 2.0 xG something, rarely less and in the match replay the team is so fun to watch, scores crazy goals and so on. But..... As soon as I decide to manage the games live (and that is what I would love to do most of the time) the team rarely scores more than 1 goal and xG is 0,5 on average. Loses most of the time. They are zero combinations and plays that are made and my high profile players with 16+ attributes don't make any difference if I swap them for 10+ attribute players. It just feels the same every game. I didn't notice this just this save. It happened I every FM I played since 2019. What am I doing wrong? Is there any "tick" I need to switch on or off to make my live games be more interesting and interactive. I don't want to "Instant match" every time to get high results 😢

@@jackwatson6887 It's an offline game. Live and let live I say. I personally only play "DoF mode" on my saves these days. Save scummers are only cheating themselves tbh. When I play DoF mode my assistant managers ALWAYS punch above their weight to the extent where I always get called out for save scumming by my mates 😆 because my mates struggle with the same club due to playing pretentious tactics and not using installments, bonuses and clauses to structure deals which massively limits the caliber of player you can sign and the amount of players you can sign.

The first guy asked a question about loans which is what I've never been able to work out. Zealand talks about loans but how to know the quality of the player properly? The scouting system doesn't seem to apply effectively or they're outside range, even affiliate club's id have to individually scout each one 🤷♂️. I still didn't pick up a clear answer from what Zealand said ias it moved back to talking about free transfers. I need to know the most effective way to scout or find out what I need from loan players, anyone? Hopefully that makes sense, see the question the first guy asks about this. Thanks

I choose 1-2 months in the year, to expand my scouting range to "Premier League" or whatever is the top league in my country. Then you can scout all the loan-listed players pretty quickly in that month. This is worth more than a little bit of extra transfer budget in the lower leagues. I also use it to scout players with expiring contracts.

There is a lot of stuff we looked at that wasnt included in the vid, and one of those was zlatans stats, he was injured for most of the season and averaged a 6.7😭😭 and i can promise you i have never even attempted to use the editor once. Ruins the experience for me personally.

I never understand people who change tactics... i decided to play a version of Ange Ball in FM24 and i never change from it. Yes the tactic has grown over time as i watch the match engine and the heat map and average positions etc... but it's always minor and then stays that way forever once it's doing the job.

@@nwahnerevar9398 not really i built the base of the tactic from scratch over the 1st half season whe i took my first job in the save. And then each season small tweaks have been made and if they work it stays if they fail i reset to what did work before twiddling again the next season. The tactic wasn't a premade one, and it wasn't someone elses top tactic. It's all mine and has been evolved over 18 seasons now as i completed the pentagon challenge lol
