"I hope this isn't boring for you guys" Seeing someone share their passion/hobby is never boring! Thanks for sharing guys
👍 thanks
Awesome ! I love the history there and glad you peppered a little in . The dwarfs building was built but same designer who did the celebration fl post office
Shall we?
Michael Graves! I was so prepared to talk about that and legends square but security didn’t want us over there 😔
omg!!!!! ALICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Mayra's screaming at loud) so pretty, im crying, it's my favorite. THANKS PETER AND KITRA for showing it
😂 thanks Mayra
I loved this! I love seeing the history and every time Peter was like, “I dunno, I hope you guys don’t find this boring”, I would be like “show me more!!! This is not boring!” Lol. Loved it ❤
😁 glad to hear it
Omg it’s where she hulk was walking around!!
Haha yup
Peter's commentary made this amazing. It looked like an ok event but Peter's tour of the lot was the best! Plus Kitra's bats, of course.
🦇
Dave's personal Alice collection was wonderful. It was so great he was there to share the details.
Loved talking with him
Another great video! Peter's knowledge and excitement was fun to watch. I enjoyed hearing Dan's story, I'm glad he was able to share with us.
😁 glad we ran into and got to chat with Dan and learn a little about his collection
The studio tour is REEEEALLY fun! Bob Gurr came with our group and added a whole other layer to the tour. Our guide just stood there with us, soaking in all his historic knowledge. Walt's office was A-MAZ-ING!! A real "pinch me" moment. If you get the chance, definitely GO!!!!
Love the positive energy coming from Peter during this video. Kitra is clearly amazing, but I really enjoyed Peter excitement and enthusiasm with all the movie history. Great Video!
Thanks 😊
The cast member personal collection is just so perfect! I hope to see more of that in the future!
Loved talking with Dan
Amazing! I love this
Glad you like it!
You guys are the PERFECT guides for this experience!! SOOO here for this one. CHEERS!!
Awwww thank you 🙏
You guys are the best at capturing the little details and B-Rolls that we can pause and geek out over :D Thanks for this episode!! 🤓
Thanks 😊
Loved this video! Thank you for taking the rest of us fellow movie nerds on an iconic adventure 🤩⭐️🐭
Thanks Eeman
I'm guessing you've heard of the term "Cutting room floor" right? Well you literally walked past the cutting room. Keep up the great work guys.
👍
The film history tour is fantastic! Thank you so much Peter for all the information, especially Studio A and Fantasia, and Kitra for gorgeous editing of said history!
WOW! it's so exciting, chillin'!! Kitra looking so shinny. That Lady was kind of greedy with the candy 🤔🤔🤔. LOve the tattoos, i probably choose the little ghost in the moon. #FREAKIN'BATS
Thanks 🙏
Oh boy!! How awesome this is!! THANK YOU guys for taking us along, it was soooo much fun and so interesting to see all the festivities and history behind what you could film for us. Appreciate very much!! 🥰
Thanks Tammy
@@OrdinaryAdventures ❤️🫵🏻
fun fact! the original walt disney animation studio where snow white was made was actually located on Hyperion ave in LA (currently a Gelson’s) hence why the snow white cottages are on the cross street :)
I wish it wasn’t turned into a super market 😔
I dreamed about walking around the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, CA in all of my life😊
Happy to take you there virtually
I love this so much! Love hearing the history. OMG I had a Mousercise album growing up too! Thank you for sharing and thank you to Disney for letting you film and share!
Thanks for watching Alissa
I’ve worked on this lot before and while it is the tiniest and probably the most boring one day to day, it also has rich history and the squirrels are something right out of a movie..they will climb your leg if you have something to give them
Haha do they talk like in the Disney animated movies? (Joke)
Love the Bedknobs and Broomsticks appreciation - Kitra coming through with the truth.
🙌
Kitra ~ LOVE your shirt! Looks vintage and we are constantly grasping for a bit of our childhood holiday celebrations. That shirt brings all the feels! What an amazing episode! Thanks for all you (both) do! 😊
I got it this year at haunted hayride but love the vintage feel of it
If you watched the finale of SheHulk some of this Disney backlot footage is very familiar! Thanks as always, guys! :)
That bit was hilarious 😆
Loved that episode
I loved all the movie history in this video!
Awwww thanks Richard
LOVED this episode! I love movie history, and this episode was right up my alley!
Yay
LOVE THIS! Thanks for sharing, and love all the history shown!
Thanks
That was really cool. It's neat how cast members can show personal collections, so we get to see some memorabilia you may otherwise never see. That was fun, I really hope to get there for a tour someday. Thank you for taking us on your adventure. 😁
Yeah dans collection was super cool
Oh yes! We watched Bedknobs and broomsticks over and over! Also Robin hood. Loved this tour, thanks guys!
Thanks Amy
I love visiting the lot - i've taken the tour twice and the Christmas party there too. Such a great campus. So much history when think back while strolling.
We need to take the proper tour sometime
Do you have to be a Disney member to tour the studio?
you guys are awesome 🤩 Thanks for taking us with your adventures.
Thanks Hector
Love all of Peters knowledge to share with us! Great video as always! ❤
😁 thanks
That lady was not trying to give kitra that kinder egg 😂😭
😂
I was there as well! From your overview of the costume event, you were right next to me!
Ha small world
We got to tour the studios and see the world premiere of Saving Mr Banks. Watching the short news reel they showed of Mary Poppins, I found out our seats were the same ones Dick Van Dyke sat in. It was a once in a lifetime event!!
That sounds amazing
@@OrdinaryAdventures It was my son’s Christmas present that year! It was amazing! I am watching your Navigator of the Seas videos right now. I booked a cruise on her this morning.
So many memories from that lot. My brother was an Imagineer for two decades and I got to go with him to a lot of the cool backstage stuff. I’ve even gotten my haircut there before too at their salon! The WED Imagineering offices in Glendale is fun to visit too!
I didn’t realize they had a salon
Thanks for showing us things we wouldn’t otherwise normally get to see.
Glad to!
I just saw Kurt in his inspector gadget outfit ❤❤❤❤.this is a very awesome great video
Great costume
perfect score
👍
Love watching your adventures! Thankyou for sharing it with us! Happy Halloween!
Thanks for watching
Love going there. The tunnels under the studio are pretty cool. The original control panels of the now defunct air conditioning system are still in place among other relics. Kem Weber: Mid-Century Furniture Designs for the Disney Studios and The Walt Disney Studios: A Lot to Remember are excellent books for anyone interested in the history of the studio. Also, The Reluctant Dragon is a wonderful time capsule of how the studio looked in the 40's.
I’d love to tour the tunnels under the studio
Tuesdays are always better with an adventure!!
🙌
I can’t wait to watch this one as I’ve never toured the studios, I’ve been on the lot but not for a tour. I was listening to Peter talk about it on the slash film podcast.
😁 thank you
Thankyou for the history tour of the old Disney studios! I live in Australia and really want to someday go and see those buildings because I am a huge old school 2d animation Disney fan.. so Thankyou for sharing that with us!
It’s a magical place for sure
That first trick or treat station was a bit tight! 2 butterfingers??? She could have spared some more!!!! The part with Dan was so sweet!
Haha I agree. Later they were handing out piles of candy
@@OrdinaryAdventures 😲 Bah!!
Years and years ago I interned for a producer who had an office in the old Animation Building at the time. It's really interesting to see what's changed and what hasn't. Like the old Animation Building area looks exactly the same, but that photo op logo wasn't there back then. 😁
I’m betting slot hasn’t changed
I didn’t know you could do this! Can’t wait to finish this whole vlog! It’s always feels so cool to see the bts places that makes Disney movies! Also free tattoos and face paint yes! Definitely would’ve loved to get that mickey bags ice cream one! Umm yes great experience
Was a fun event!
Had a terrible day! Needed this video 🌈
Hope your week gets better
@@OrdinaryAdventures Thanks soooo much 🌈
Seeing some of spots here surprisingly took me back to Hollywood Studios walking backstage. Since that was the look they were going for. Alright California trip list is growing.
It was definitely an influence
I love this, I’ve always wanted to go here, but never have yet, I am an absolute big Disney history nerd, I am probably more fascinated with Disney and just film in general nerd, more so with Disney, especially with park’s history as well
Thanks 😊
As a major film nerd that gives out trivia at theme parks/movies until my friends tell me to shut up, it’s nice to hear someone else be just as passionate
😁 glad you enjoyed it
I love Bed knobs and Broomsticks too. 🎉. ❤
🙌
I guess the editing room is where the phrase ‘cutting room floor’ came from!
Ha yup
I love that I made it into the video at 7:12 🎉 and it was really amazing to meet you both in person!
Nice meeting you
That was so cool!!! I’m like Peter - the event was a nice bonus, but what an opportunity to be on the historic Disney lot!!
💯
Such a fun day--Disney history, fun Halloween activities, getting to go to a Disney store again--all wins!
🙌 thanks Zelda
I also enjoy film lots so this was a good watch
👍
Love hearing Van Halen in the background lol
Ha
I'm a film nerd too, Peter, and I loved all the film history information and details! I would love a whole video or video series about Disney history, especially from a fan's perspective! Btw> you guys are looking good in this video! 👍
Thanks shaman
Thank you for covering this. This is my first year of not attending. Studio exclusive stuff is in a room off the main store which they open pretty rarely. Fun fact DJ Clark Chaka is also the DJ for RunDisney races.
We didn’t end up going in the exclusive merch store 😔
@@OrdinaryAdventures hopefully on another visit.
That was a good tour while I do the boring exercise bike for 20-30 minutes.
Hopefully we entertained you while you exercised
I loved seeing the Burbank studios especially all the history of media and pop culture that was on display much 💘. Bit of trivia if you ever heard the idiom "left on the cutting room floor" it actually comes from cutting/editing rooms from a time when editiors and directors would literally cut off pieces of film strip with scenes they wanted removed.
Oh I’ve definitely heard the phrase but I still thought the room was called editorial and cutting room was kinda a shorthand
Awesome I love it
😃
Happy Halloween Disney studios in Burbank California I love you guys
You too Michael
The video was cool and I would love to visit the studio, but I really thought when you teased Halloween town, I was going to get Halloweentown. Still very cool👍🏽
Ha I just meant a generic Halloween celebration sorry
I went to this event. I actually did get a nice view of the costume show and was able to get the photo op with the lil castle and Minnie. I went as something similar to 13:38 and got #23 from the tattoo station. Plus, it wasn't that far from where I live. (did you know next to the studio's store is a white tent that sold Disney, Lucasfilm and Pixar logo merch?)
We should have went to the d23 store but we forgot
It’s called “cutting” because back in the day they would have to physically cut the tape (I think?) - we still use that term in news!
👍
Happy Halloween 🎃
You too
amazing Love your videos .
Thanks Stacy
@@OrdinaryAdventures you are welcome
Alright! Finally got to be a background extra in an Ordinary Adventures video. Get to cross that one off the list. 😊
👍 you did great 😛
Our daughter is STILL star-struck and is talking about how she got to meet “Kitwa” 🤩❤️ thanks for being awesome and stopping to say hi.
Where Walt got his haircuts 😆😆 Love this video!!
😂 💇♂️
That looks like so much fun! I love all the fantastic costumes. I totally would have dressed up. I wish I could have been there- being up north in Silicon Valley, I haven't had a chance to go to any if these smaller D23 events besides the Expo itself. I actually used to live in Burbank until shortly after I turned 10. I think we must have lived right near the Disney Studios because I remember being driven past that building with the 7 dwarfs all the time! I've actually had the chance to go there- when I was 16, I met a CM online who worked- I think- in the video promotion department. When we made plans to visit friends and family in LA and go to Disneyland that summer, she invited my family to take a tour of the office area where she worked. (My mom called them first to confirm she was who she said she was! 😆) We even got to eat in the employee commissary there!
Very cool
I’ve always wanted to do one of the tours at the studio.
I didn’t even know they had them
@@OrdinaryAdventures D23 hosts some for members. Need to book one eventually
Very cool...
👍
happy belated Halloween you guys happy November 1st
Thanks Lauri
Kitra would you be so kind as to give us a video showing off your loungefly collection?
Maybe someday
I love your black cat shirt, Kitra!
🐈⬛
We love to go
👍
This is absolutely amazing! I’ve never been to a studio but there looks to be a ton of interesting history to just take in and enjoy. I would love a full tour of each stage. Did I hear the Pokémon theme song in the background?
Ha probably
Realized that was Kurt Tocci as Inspector gadget. I was like wait a sec is that him.
Didn’t realize
Man I always want to go their😁😇
🙌
I love you guys 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
😀
This was great!!! I loved hearing about the film history. Are the tours they do only for D23? I am a gold member. Would LOVE to do a tour. Thanks so much, always entertaining ❤
Apparently there is? We are also good members and I didn’t even know about them either
Happy late Halloween guys. Been busy scaring people. I know where is a Disney store location except it is not as extravagant as the other locations were, but it is still around. It is in a place called The Citidale and the Ontario Mills Mall.
Oh yeah that’s the outlet store
Hello! I loved this video... thanks for sharing! I have a question about entering the Studios (will be doing a tour soon). Is there any luggage storage or backpack limitations I should be aware of? Thank you in advance!
I don’t think they have any storage or allow big bags but I would contact them about it
There is ONE Disney store I know that is still open and is in the San Francisco Premium Outlets in Livermore
I was just there last Friday!
Oh yeah they have a bunch of the outlet stores still open
Read Cartoon Transcripts (Like a Storybook): Donald Gets Drafted, the Army Mascot, the Vanishing Private, Sky Trooper, Private Pluto, Fall Out Fall In, Victory Vehicles, the Old Army Game, Home Defense, How to Be a Sailor, even Commando Duck
👍
@@OrdinaryAdventures Thank you. You're very kind.
I think they refer to editing as "cutting" because back in the day the editing process was actually cutting film reels. 🎥 🎞 📽
👍
14:27 I think this guy is from a channel called Smile squad on KZhead and Facebook. I’m not 100% sure but it looks like him. And he did mention he likes Disney a lot.
Could be
I WANT THAT COACH PLUSHIE!!!!!
It looks cool but ooooof that price
@@OrdinaryAdventures I know! They’re trippin if they think I’m gonna pay that much. Maybe if it goes on clearance? 😂
I think you're familiar because you do a lot of editing but to refresh your memory they used to call it the cutting room floor because the actual film would be cut and spliced together and that's how they used to edit
👍
Bedknobs and Broomsticks is the best! Treguna mekoides trecorum satis dee!
👍
You look great Kitra😂❤🎉🎉
Thanks Sherri
Dopey dr :)
I'm not sure, but I think exterior shots for the college campus in *Midnight Madness* were filmed there.
🤔
This is so cool and fun! I wonder who won the costume contest? I didn’t know D23 was a free thing to join!
They didn’t actually declare a winner it was more of a costume show off
@@OrdinaryAdventures oooh that’s so fun!
Cutting room floor is a thing do maybe that's where thr saying comes from? :)
👍 I always assumed that was a phrase and not an actual department
Sadly, there are only the 4 or 5 major World of Disney stores left (the two in Downtown Disneys and Disney Springs) as well as the Vegas and New York City locations…all of the mall stores had shut down by Fall, 2021
😔 there’s also some outlet store as well but those mostly suck
