This kiteboarding / kitesurfing video aims to give you the safest way to learn to jump. Showing you first how to do small jumps, that build your kite skills. You should aim to land lots of small jumps first. The video then shows you the technique for pulling off large jumps without landing hard. And then finally some general tips on launch, landing, kiteboard control and spinning. I hope you enjoy this kite jump tutorial.
Excellent instruction and I also love the bar image on screen during the manoeuvre. I'm a late starter at kiting but I'm loving the learning. Thanks heaps 👌
GREAT video ! Best explanation on KZhead ! thanks kitesurfco
Thanks for the tips. It will help me a lot to improve the jumps. The image of the bar on the screen is very useful.
Excellent tutorial. Very well explained. Many thanks.

Thank you so much for posting this ! This is by far the best and most well explained how to jump video on KZhead !
+Steven Serin Thanks
Excellent video. Like the fact that you show kite position and bar position at the same time
Thanks, will have a new version of this one soon.
Good Video
Excellent tutorial, thank you. A great idea with the super imposed graphics.
+First Aparamythist Thanks. Bar position is very important so I thought I'd make it clearer.

thanks alot.... peace.
Any good spots for a semi beginner anywhere
Beautiful location, where is it filmed (the aqua water footage)?
+Odeliska76 Hey. That is Long bay, part of the caicos bank in Turks and Caicos. It's an enormous, shallow, sand-bottom area so it's great for kite lessons.
Hi-ya, impressive film! have a good evening :o)
Hello and thankyou. This is the old version, here's the new one: kzhead.info/sun/nNFwqL5voZmvha8/bejne.html
Great Tutorial! But I got one question. When i pop do I have to jump actively or just let me drag out of the water?
A little of both. I'd suggest you practice the pop on its own. Ride around with the kite at 45 (that's 1030 or 130). Get some speed, carve hard upwind and jump pressing a little more on the back foot.
Or check this out: kzhead.info/sun/mbqrm9N-in-iq2w/bejne.html
nice video. But why doesnt it tell, that you have to edge upwind strongly just before jumping? Or is it not a must?
+ayuyowert Excellent question. Yes, it is very important to have an upwind edge while jumping. If you get pulled downwind before take off you will do a long low jump. One way to avoid getting pulled downwind is to raise the kite to 12 with your arms out, and only pull in the bar at 12 to jump. At first I would say it is easier to just keep your normal upwind edge for take off - but you can also, as you mentioned, try to edge upwind super strongly just before take off for extra height - I cover this more in the pop video.
Thanks. Where is the spot on the video? Looks like a nice location
Thanks. Where is the spot on the video? Looks like a nice location
hey guys one of the problems I am having is while landing...rather than land on my back leg and board pointing downwind...I land in a squat position and sink and don't get the pull while landing either......what might be going wrong
Hi Badar, this is probably due to your kite movement. While you're in the air, the kite stays near 12. Just before you land (about 1m from the water) you need to dive your kite firmly to make sure you can carry on riding when you land. I guess you are not diving your kite when you land, or maybe not firmly enough.
Where is this video shot? Location ?
+Nicolas Moussios The first part is Turks and Caicos. The second part is Langebaan, South Africa.
