    @florabramwell2638@florabramwell26387 жыл бұрын
    • Flora Bramwell radish kimchi might not work with this recipe. the texture would be off putting, best to just use kimchi instead. or you can make radish kimchi bokkeumbap (fried rice).

      @cyuat1976@cyuat19767 жыл бұрын
    • Radish kimich should work fine in this recipe. Just chop it up into smaller pieces. You can also chop up some fresh cabbage, take some of the juices from the radish kimchi, and mix it up together with the dice radish kimchi and kimchi juice. I think the radish will add a nice crunchy texture to the pork buns. You can do it Flora. That's the beauty of cooking, you can make it into your own because I think I'll be using chicken when I make these buns instead of pork.

    • Flora Bramwell ... Flora I'm also from the UK and curious as to how to get started with Kimchi, where did you get your hot pepper flakes from? What are you storing it in, a Tupperware in the fridge etc? Thank you in advance xx Jennie

      @simmonsfamily1377@simmonsfamily13777 жыл бұрын
    • Hello :) I got my hot pepper flakes from Amazon, to try them out, and they were good quality, nice and hot! I keep my kimchi in a glass mason jar and store it in a cool box which I use as a separate kimchi 'fridge' - i find the garlicky fermenting smell tends to fill my regular fridge rather quickly otherwise....! I also decided to but Maangchi's book, so I could be sure I had a recipe which would taste good and work well. I hope this helps you! X

  • I’m making a similar version of these but my filling is vegan meat crumbles, green onions, and mushrooms. The seasoning is onion and garlic powder, red pepper flakes, paprika, black pepper and salt. With sweet baby rays bbq sauce.

  • I love kimchi, I love pork buns and, this sounds like a great recipe. I'm going to try to make it some time! Manngchi! You remind me a lot of my mom! She was a happy little italian lady always in the kitchen being her true self a fellow foodie and always cooking lots of new recipes. Unfortunately she passed away about 5 years ago but when I watch your vids it always makes me think of her. I carry on the tradition by cooking myself, I wanted to thank you the only way I could think of. That would be to share a recipe that my mom loved. She always shared recipes and talked of food much like yourself. It's what people remember her by her creativeness in the kitchen. In the same sense I do too this video made me think of it. This is a very old recipe that's extremely simple. I think it was used alot in "The Great Depression" It hails from my grandparents and was a popular recipe at that time. You will need: One round cabbage One large onion One pound of bacon one or two table spoons of vegetable oil Salt and freshly cracked pepper to taste. Roughly chop all ingredients Fry them together in a pan cook until bacon is cooked through and cabbage is soft. And Viola! I hope you can try and enjoy this recipe! ^_^ Thank you Manngchi!

It's way more convenient to have buns or something similar for on the go. Maybe something like the Belizean fry jack is more labor-saving. I usually tweeked the recipe based on the occasion.
