    • They're the most ungrateful, disgusting, entitled, petulant fans in world football. Imagine being BLESSED to have Messi AND Neymar play on your team, and then to treat them like that... Like an abusive partner always inciting and losing their temper! Chanting, booing and jeering at them both DURING games all throughout their tenure and even worse they did it during the 2023 team presentation at the stadium for winning Ligue Un! A day of celebration and of Messi's farewell! And THAT'S how they chose to behave like a bunch of spoilt children. And remember, this is a team that FAILED to win Ligue Un the year before Messi arrived, something that never happened during Messi's tenure there. So it's not even like they had ANY right to act so entitled and numb to winning the league, the most important thing for ANY team. They weren't prime Bayern or Juventus winning it 10 times in a row or anything. inning 10 in a row. And then worse than that a month before that debacle the deluded lunatic scumbag PSG Ultras were feeling SO entitled and acting SO petulantly like a pack of poorly trained Circus Animals they LITERALLY MARCHED TO NEYMAR'S HOUSE AND began BOOING AND CHANTING outside the house with their FISTS IN THE AIR! Neymar's WIFE AND CHILDREN WERE IN THE HOUSE hearing all that undoubtedly TERRIFIED by it all! His CHILDREN! I mean seriously... Really try and imagine how scary that must have been. You would have NO IDEA how far they're willing to go because they're already SO FAR past the pale... Honestly, some dogs are just better off being put down. And then the impotent PSG Board comes out going; 'Oh No! HOW could this happen?' As if those self-serving scumbag aren't the one's RUNNING the f***ing circus in the first place... And inwardly you know a number of them are happy because so long as the fans are going after the PLAYERS they aren't going after the Board and Organisation, you know, the people in charge, the one's who created the environment for those types of fans to exist. Damn, sorry people, this was a movie length script of a comment, but that's just how f***ing infuriating that whole situation was.

  • At least Messi's presence is bringing more publicity to the MLS. If he can do what no other soccer star could and manage to popularize the sport in America, he may well cement himself as not just the GOAT in soccer, but as the most important athlete of the 21st Century.

  • Yes, Messi is doing wonders in the MLS, but I don't get why you have to say "he is humiliating" the MLS. This is very disrespectful and makes MLS fans in general hate him. He is not there to humiliate anyone, just being himself, and helping bring more attention to the MLS. Knowing how humble Messi is, I know he would be totally against such a statement. We all already know he is on a different level and the European league is better, but no need to offend all MLS fans by making such disrespectful statements; he is there to help improve the league not make fun of it....

    • Geniuses are allowed to humiliate. We should give them a certain dispensation and enjoy it. Lionel has been humiliating top leagues, top teams for decades, even as he winds down he's clearly better. You should embrace/enjoy it. It's not going to come along regularly. Sure there are/were other great players, but like Ali the boxer, he's the Greatest.

    • If people call this humiliating then they would call what he did in 2008-2010 murder. This is Messi in his twilight zone. A prime Messi would rip the defense of a team and drink their soul.

    • @@briangray00 Except that those are not Messi's words. He is too humble and respectful of other players and clubs to intentionally try to humiliate anyone. Besides, he's been doing that all his career, not just the MLS. He is playing in MLS to elevate the game and build a bigger fan base, not humiliate them...

There is no universal max salary in MLS; teams can pay as many as three Designated Players in excess of the maximum salary cap hit of $651,250 without any additional change to their cap number. Teams are not required to field any Designated Players. World cup is coming, let's get more excitement!

Messi maybe the goat of this generation but the reason he is playing in the MLF now is because he is in the end of his career. We would be a good player in Europe but not as good as re is in the US. Look at his PSG run that wasn't that consistent. What he is doing now is exposing how bad the MLF players and league are. With Juarez and now DeMaria coming the floodgates will be wide open. Is going to be child's play.
