Yes, the level of entitlement is out of control these days. Sadly, the convenience of these delivery services feeds that entitlement.
This was a time sucking day. And the nerve of that person in the apartment on the 21st floor who expected you to magically park in a magical spot so you could whisk their food to them like Tinkerbell with your magical wings. Let me wave my magic wand because now I feel like a fairy godmother with all the magical magic talk. lol
I want to assume she didn't know delivery drivers couldn't park in the garage. At least I hope so.

I am a Shipt shopper. Do you want to hear about my weirdest alcohol delivery order? It was for a regular customer of mine so I was shocked when I got to their house and he didn’t answer the door for about five minutes. I was about to give up on him when I saw him come running down the stairs, dripping, wet, wearing nothing but a little towel. He opened the door to my embarrassment and then said I have to go get my license! 😂 yes I delivered groceries and alcohol to a naked man. People are something else.

Yes some ppl are annoying!! Especially when they don’t have their address on the house & the curb paint is faded!! I literally gotta google map the address to see a pic of the house. Oh & also when it’s night & the house is dark as hell. Then once I put all their stuff by the door they come & turn on the outside lights. They have garden hoses laying around and kids bikes!!
Dude, on this occasion just lance their order in the garden, the grass and bounce like it’s a newspaper👍🏼 haaa that’s what they get for not turning on the lights for you😂

Either their number is nowhere to be found on their house or mail box or their entire outside is pitch dark like do people not cut on their porch lights anymore or what. Ppl should just not deliver after dark. Maybe they will get the message. I go home when it starts to get dark. Daytime is a pain when they give shit directions, I don't bother at dark. Nope, they can get off their ass go get it themselves.
When I did UEats deliveries, I NEVER accepted Apt addresses. I only worked in one neighborhood and knew the addresses. So my deliveries were all houses & condos/townhouses. No apts, no campus deliveries. No fast food pickups. The pay became so bad 2 months ago, I stopped deliveries completely. It's tough out there. Keep doing deliveries to make your podcasts/videos. That is where your future higher income will be earned. Keep up the hard work. You're doing great!

I just started to watch some various dasher vids on here to gain perspective on the tipping etiquette (just recently have DoorDash available in my area), and you crack me up (in the best way!). I am shocked at the people who tip next to nothing…for ANY delivery! Shocked! I hope you maintain your fabulous attitude and humor! OMG! I have taking cussing to a new level..since starting Doordash. I have actually had people tell me that they forgot that they ordered food. Really tho...you forgot...just answer your door. Also...the lower the tips..the bigger the problems
I always call the restaurant first if Uber gives a bloated offer and it's not late at night. Typically it's bloated because it was canceled.
Yep...has happened to me Many, Many times with Uber!!
One guy says look for 1.75 to 3.00 a mile nothing less. Good to take a day off, don’t feel guilty if you do.

Ok Mama, I think I got you beat. I'm at a gated community. The machine is broken. There's a side door, so I park outside the gate and walk in. I tell them I'm walking and ask which is best way. They tell me the gate # again, and I replied I know, but it's not working." After I walked .4 miles, they tell me they gave the wrong address, and it's the community across the street 😅😂😅😂. That was for Uber and it was an add on for $1.50
I hate when they say “hand it to me” you knock on the door and they don’t answer, and then you hear them on the other side of the door.

Back in '86+? put an ad in paper that i do deliveries, shopping (among many tasks) so i could work while son in school. It was surprisingly successful! (B4 big business & govt got involved) But made way more $ cleaning/organizing homes. Like 20/hr back then!

Yep I feel ya in this one for sure.... I've become super picky about the orders I take..I look up address before I accept.. no apts or hotels for me again...EVER ...it's not worth the frustration!! .. I have a whole list of "NOGO" places I won't pick up nor deliver too..I make Doordash work for me!!
I sometimes have days like this one where nothing seems to be easy and I wonder if it’s worth it. Then I’ll have an amazing day and I remember! It’s kind of like golf 😂

I've got a list of places I simply won't deliver to. One of them is an apartment building where everything is difficult and I do mean everything. It's just not worth the hastle in my opinion, lol

It is if we put it in the bag already, but by the same token if it shows that we picked up the right order as far as we could see with our see-through, not vision, so that DD knows if there’s an issue with something wrong in the bag is the restaurant versus us, then I’ll deal with it.

Ok!! Instacart members does this all the time. Why ask to hand it to them when they don't come to the door? Listen, I don't wait. I ring their door bell, wait 5 seconds, put their order as if they wanted their order to be drop off, take a pic and go😇
Most of the orders from Panera are “hand it to me“. I believe the issue is when they order on the Panera website it doesn’t transfer correctly to the DoorDash app. I know this because I ordered from Panera myself and the driver always knocks on the door. I’ve asked the driver to show me his screen and Sure enough it says hand it to me even though I selected to leave it at the door. It’s so frustrating!

I have the same issue with a difficult building in my area and nowhere to park, and its funny how those customers are always the few that get mad, have no understanding and leave the smallest tips.
The University (permit parking, congested with pedestrians, bicyclist, and cars) area is TERRIBLE, and stressful where I'm at.
They also give a thumbs down rating every time.

Try not adding floor replacement to your debt. Take out yourself, peel stick tile floor. Less expensive, will fix the problem, and not add to your debt.

As soon as I saw the $20 for 2 miles I knew it wouldn't be a pick up. I've delivered to the turquoise house with the gate, they used to want the bag in the rocking chair. UBs has been the absolute worst this week, you're lucky to get so many orders. I try to stay away from downtown, there is never anywhere to park and they don't care. So stressful. I've had a lot of days like you did, only hoping for better ones.

You are doing good things happen like this all the time dealing with people and dealing with the restaurants. Ive been doing gig work for almost 8 yrs now i love the freedom but after some days you really feel like should I stop doing it but i dont. I mainly was doing this on the side then started doing this full time in my area i manage 3 platforms uber, door dash, and spark. Ive driven for lyft picking people up and also for uber I like the deliveries more it dont take you way out the way when dropping people off. I have slow days and very busy days in my area but evenings do pay more it seems on all apps. Keep doing what your doing. You tube and gig work.

I am in small populated area of about 40,000 in NE TN where everybody is laid back. I have to wait at almost every location that uses DoorDash. There are about 4 rest. That have food ready when you get there, that's it.
Ugh, I hear you! So frustrating some days! I came upon a road closure yesterday, called and I could hear the guy in the background….just follow the detour! Like you were saying, I don’t live there. I don’t know the exact way to get to your house so you could have mentioned a detour.😡🤦♀️

I wish DoorDash would identify those non drop off friendly places and tells the customer they have to meet us at the car. They can make that happen so easy on the app. It would even make it much better for not just the driver but DoorDash as a whole.
