Blacksmith Boot Camp: Season 2 Episode 9
The star of the series immerges in this episode, affectionately known as: The Crazy Kicking Horse.
Okay, Ryan's story is pretty great too. He started with absolutely zero experience with horses (and mules), proving that hard work and determination can go a long way at Heartland. Having his family present for the climax of his schooling journey is the icing on the cake.

  • Great work. I was wondering about the paint mare’s left front knee. It looks like severe damage/injury/ scarring. Wonder if that impacts horse’s pain or fear of lifting legs.

  • Wished I would of gone to this school instead of the one I went to once I got out and did my first apprenticeship the farrier that mentor me had me buy y’all’s book the first week and he wasn’t even a student there

  • Can I attend your school with a GED at 17. I was homeschooled for most of my like and the public school system doesn’t have a lot to offer me since I want to be a farrier for my full career.

    • Yes. We do like to meet minors prior to the class, or have letters of recommendation from other farriers. The youngest I've ever had in school was 13, and the oldest was 67. Check out the website at www.heartlandhorseshoeing.com

  • I know they have to be : fast : but no one wants a hurry up getter done job on their mule , the speed will come with experience! From a 30 plus year mule man !

    • Speed is part of the definitions of skill. If it weren't timed, there would be a lot less graduates have a successful business. Imagine graduating and only being able to do one horse a day in five or six hours. You would not be competent. Coming from a 35+ year farrier. Thanks for watching Jeffery
