Hi Gareth, thanks for dropping a comment, of course I try to be inclusive of all markets for my viewers! I'm also surprised Blisslights haven't looked to include smart integration yet. I suspect because they sell so many units already and don't want to increase the price for the wifi/bluetooth and price of building an app. I do think they could simply make the projector function so if you cut power when you power back on it automatically turns on instead of having to press the button on the side, it's a small change they could make and that would allow us to use smart outlets to get some very basic functionality! I've seen another KZheadr literally mod his Blisslights to function in this way.

I like the additional features but same question as the last video. Can you lay it on its side without causing it to burn up? Can you adjust the dimensions of the overall image? How far can it throw the image and still have a decent projection?

Great vid very well done! My only beef with this projector are the ⭐️ stars… way too linear, not enough randomization on the pattern of stars itself. When was the last time you looked up on a starry night and saw row upon row of stars, lined up in a straight line?

Hey Julian, this was a good review. I literally only just bought the Bliss about 3 weeks ago.... But if I'm honest I'm happier with this one I think than I would be with your smart one. Because what I've done to my one is plugged it into a smart outlet so I can switch it off via voice command, but I also stuck a little bit of clear cellotape over the on-off button so I don't have to press it to come on, the smart command works because it's always pressed on if you get what I mean 😅 (I'm not clever I just come up with random ideas and sometimes they work 😂😂) Anyway cheers for the vid chap, still here and I think I will be for the foreseeable future. Hope everything's calming down somewhat. All the best.

I had been wondering how to "hack it" sort of to plug it into a smart outlet! Anyhow, this projector does have some defining differences with the smart features such as changing the colors and brightness, and I think I prefer the laser patterns on this version vs. the Blisslights but both are great units! Not yet, but it's a good video idea!To answer your question: I would start with probably a few light strips, (Mount behind your desk or TV) Then maybe some sort of RGB lamp, and a star projector. You could also consider a neon sign. Govee makes a lot of great products, if I was starting from scratch again I would go with them! I had wanted to learn constellations with a star projector. In your demonstration of the nebula, the random star placement wouldn’t help anyone in improving their star gazing skills. Mainly because there only a handful of nebula one can see color without extreme magnification. So I’m more interested in identifying stars patterns within a region of the skies that will aid my ability to find clusters and galaxies. Random or grid stars don’t cut it

Hi Calum, The voice commands are all done with the Amazon Alexa Echo unit. You can switch the wake-up word to computer! I also show make note in the video how to add the Smart Star Projector to Alexa in the video! Good luck!

Loving the smart star projector! Question is this "Encalife Atmosphere" the orginal maker of this and other similar units knockoffs? found this one more expensive but seems high quality. Got a bad unit but after replacement it been working great and is quiet too
It's unclear where the original design originated, but the Atmosphere was one of the first for sure on the market.

Can you do a review of the "can you imagine: star projector"? Its something I saw in Spencer's like over 10 years ago, and its the only star projector I've seen where there aren't stars all moving together in the same direction so the stars are more randomized.
I'd love to cover that star projector, but the problem is it's hard to find these days and not easily accessible for the general public!

Do these work well in a Home Theater. I have a Sony 4k projector. So I wouldn’t want it to interfere with that. Which star projector should I get given my situation?

Hi there, great video. Was just wondering if the rhythmic colour change of the lights (matching the music) can be disabled? Or if setting a 'scene' disables that feature. My only concern is that the projector will start flashing while listening to music and disrupt the mood of the room. Thanks!
The smart home projector has no music reactivity mode. Perhaps your referring to one of the star projectors in my other videos?

@@joshkim738 Yea for sure. The music mode is just that, an optional mode you can enable or disable.

Thanks I need to do research because my trial and error leads to returns. When the lights look good, there's other problems. When there aren't other problems the lights don't look good

My stars are green as well! There is no laser star projector that exists with white lasers.

When I watched your first review on blisslites, I decided to get it. Then it started making a rattling sound so I had to return it 😞 I still have to get another one and now blue on blue is out of stock in canada 😞 Thanks for this review, I do like the features of the smart one but like you said it's the brightness level and the clarity I see with the blisslites that I love! I might change my mind though! 😄
Having both now, I've actually come to start to prefer the smart star projector with it's subtle mix of colour, and I find the stars are easier on the eyes then the blue laser. Also the home integration is a plus for me personally. But of course it comes down to preference, both great units!

No preference really! They should all work fine as long as there putting out the 5V, 2A of power needed!
