    • Wild that with over 1000 Pokemon, the same 3 can dominate so hard for so long that they're still the core of many if not most high-level teams. This is precisely why legendaries and mythicals should just be unusable in competitive imo, it only gets more and more boring when the same teams show up constantly and I think disallowing the "strongest" Pokemon by virtue would open up a LOT more viable options and way more interesting gameplay options. Though I will concede, insane stats and busted signature abilities/moves make it much less likely that games ever become grindy, and I wouldn't doubt that's a HUGE part of it.

They are in fact banning the strongest mons by virtue. That's just how competition works: if you ban the strongest, then the next strongest will be prevalent, and then the next, etc. Furthermore, the mons scene now changes regulations every few months and each new regulation introduces new pokemon, which makes for different metagames every few months. I get the point you're trying to make but it does not feel justified

    • Likely to avoid the retaliation attack from the opponents. If they're able to first turn KO Chi-Yu AND Wolfe has wasted his Tera, it's basically over. Wolfe looks to wait until Chi-Yu can secure multiple KOs without question before locking it into a fight. Basically, the risk of losing Chi-Yu and Tera isn't worth taking to potentially get a fast KO. It's like trading your Queen for an opposing Bishop in Chess; unless you know that the game is in your favor strongly, it's a bad move.

Also Verlis doesn’t accept hacked Pokémon and if someone was to trade him one he will block that person and release the Pokémon with the hacked item because that is how much he cares about legitimacy. • I'm not sure why Wolf chose the low percentage play of hoping that Landorus would thaw and wouldn't get KOed before the Pollen puff especially when the range is close and it's guaranteed KO with a critical. He could've stalled out the Heattran and let it go down to life orb or a pollen puff. And a potential Terra Landorus with Amoongus is better than IH and Amoongus against Cresselia.

    @2centswanted113@2centswanted1137 ай бұрын
    • Stalling out doesn’t work, Heatran takes literally no damage from pollen puff (high sp def + 4x resist) and would 2-3 shot amoonguss. Cress could burn through Iron Hands pretty well, and as long his opponent plays it well, Hands probably wont be able to KO heatran before it goes down

      @infernomaster1030@infernomaster10307 ай бұрын
    • @@infernomaster1030Thing is that Heatran was around 9/10% at the end there and if they targeted it with Pollen Puff then it would’ve scored a KO. While yes Cresselia can burn through Iron Hand’s HP at the very least you could have stopped the Heatran and force a 2v2 with Hands Amoongus vs Amoongus Cresselia. Amoongus Cresselia is significantly less offensive than Hands Amoongus so in theory they could’ve broke through if Wolfe played around their offense. I can see Fake Out + Pollen Puff into Cresselia for some instant damage and then wild Charge into it with a Rage Powder to make sure hands stays as healthy as possible

You know at that point thst dark pulse is an ohko into both cress and amoonguss so the worst case is that iron hands comes out which gets chip on it and allows your own amoonguss to come in. Either way as long as you don’t let their amoonguss come in and abuse trick room for free you’ve essentially won the turn
