My c63 is leaking oil giving out burning smell. I need to check to see if the leak is coming from the valve cover
I would start there and track down where you think it’s leaking from!

Youre welcome, so funny 1 year later and my valve cover just came in. So I have to tackle the drivers side later today as well!
@@Thejdmmuscle what, really? I ordered Thursday and it arrived next day from local dealership as a kit (valve cover driver side, 26 bolts, 2 gaskets). Just removed mine and its not cracked but putting the new one anyway (gasket was deformed). Two bolts even with a swivel are really difficult to remove.
@@justinwan5986 Yeah when I originally made this video they were 8 months out. And I had just noticed they were available finally! Good Luck on the install

So is the a bolt pattern you have to follow when putting the cover back on?There was another KZheadr who talks about how important the bolt pattern is but Dosent show how it’s done in his videos
You’re right there is probably an exact bolt pattern which I could not find. So I just kind of jumped around where I thought I could get it to seat the best possible!
@@Thejdmmuscle How’s it been holding up so far.Im doing this job on the driver side next weekend.If I can’t find the factory bolt pattern I’m gonna do cross pattern kind of like you did.Thanks for the video,I think your video is the only one out there showing how to do both sides.
@@totophandhamaly9944 So far its working well. But its an easy install, hard to reach the back bolts without the proper extension and head piece. But with a little patience you can save alot of money doing it yourself. My first one had cracked on the back corner and was leaking oil all over my headers.
Did you happen to put sealant on the gasket?
I did not, I read some places say to add it an some did not!

My local benz mechanic told me he does not apply rtv on the Valve cover. So far I have had zero leakage issues!
