The footwork sync between Ayana and Obiri is a sight to watch 😊
Noticed that as well, perfect form for both.

Amazing that several others noticed it❤️
It is many, many centuries of running the vast expanses of Africa and maybe still unstated subconscious joint demonstration of their huge capability.

If there was a medal 🥉 for the commentators, these guys deserve it! I love my Kenyan 🇰🇪 ladies... 👏 👏 👏
Yeah I thought they did a good job too. Just Peter Drury the English football commentator.
@@elizabethmusangi8896true... what's the name of this commentator? He seems to know his stuff and has a golden voice.Druly of athletics i concur

I never get tired of watching this clip. Obiri is a jewel. God bless our daughter
Obiri is a fighting champion love from Jamaica i would die after the first lap congratulations to all the ladies who participated in the race
Ethiopia and Kenya are not separated by the rift valley. We actually share it. It passes from Ethiopia to Kenya and on to Tanzania.
Yeah, I was like what the hell is he talking about.
The synchrony on Ayana and Obiri's legs is so warming!
Enda ukalale haha hata mimi niko hapa saa hizi. This is an amazing race!

She used to be a sprinter before switching to long races
Thnx for information 😄😄😄
You're welcomed
Helen Obiri, my Heroine! Ayana is also a compelling force to reckon with; she did tremendously well in the 10K. Great performance from all these great women ........watching with love from Nairobi, Kenya, 11 Feb 2021. Who else is watching?

That final lap kick. Welled up with the tears. What an athlete, Well done Hellen Obiri!

"Separated by the great riff valley".....he says it in every distance race!
Kenya and Ethiopia are not separated by the Rift Valley… it runs through them both, but he is an outstanding commentator 😃
Obiri won the race and then ran around the track in celebration like she’d just stepped on the track AND she was hardly sweating! Meanwhile those Europeans who finished behind her fell on the ground in pain.😂 Those Kenyans are something else.😂 I

I always admire these two Kenyan girls Obiri and Faith Kipyegon. They have their legacy in the world of athletics. Mko juu sana. From Tz

Hellen Obiri will remain the best of all times. I have watched this race over and over and I never get tired it gives me joy. Great Obiri God bless you
Its insane how they speed up further into the race rather than slow down from fatigue. I would think it would be the other way around.
Hahaha
Can never get enough of this race...I've watched it countless times...proudly Kenyan.
Correction for the commentators .......We Kenyan’s 🇰🇪 have no rivalry with Ethiopians 🇪🇹 we are best of Neighbour’s with much respect for one another.........What matters is one of us wins period.......whether Kenyan 🇰🇪 or Ethiopian 🇪🇹 or Ugandan 🇺🇬. Rivalry is a Western ideology.........You come and watch the World Cup in any bar in any African country & see the reaction when any African country looses we all mourn from South Africa to Nigeria to Kenya,....yet maybe it was Senegal playing against Turkey you may even think the whole continent is called Senegal
we are rivals nani
Lol I am Ethiopian. If Ethiopia can't take it I am always up cheering for my kenyans and ugandans.
@Modern Space, There is great rivalry.......and yes, I am Kenyan......from Nyahururu. I think what you are talking about is enmity which is never appropriate and no, there is no enmity between Kenya and Ethiopia or any of its neighbours. There is great rivalry all the same which is healthy. I also say that if a Kenyan can't take it, Ethiopia should and of late, our Ugandan neighbours who are coming up very well. Our rivalry dates back to the 1980s when both of us......Ethiopia and Kenya became great at what we do. it is healthy and because of that, each country has been better because of the other. Haile wouldn't have broken some of his records without Kenya and Kenya wouldn't have broken some of the records without Ethiopia. Haile Gebrsellasie and Daniel Komen in the '90s raced each other insanely and in the process, broke the 3k and 5k world records. Morocco was also in the mix but Morocco died. R.I.P. Morocco. Long live East Africa!
Exactly

Am so proud like the neighbors again we are the African nations , Ethiopian are the calmest people by the way and Kenyans are the friendly people i love this let's do away with boundaries too

In Kenya it's not news when we win big races. It's news when we loose. We are not used to loosing and we don't like loosing. Congratulations Helen..our girl..our pride.
Kenyan athletes are hardworking and wiser in the way they use their income…more generous, loyal, and responsible. So, we too are pleased when they win.
@@rayre3617 IT is something we learnt in school; SWOT analysis Ayana's strength is endurance. She las lots of it. Her weakness is speed. She has no kick. That is why she did what she did.........try to run away from Obiri. It didn't work. Obiri's strength is also endurance but she doesn't have as much endurance as Ayana. PErhaps she does, but she has no world record. HEr greatest strength is speed. She takes it out like no one else can. She's in the class of Tirunesh Dibaba, Meseret dEfar, Vivian Cheruiyot and FAith Kipyegon in speed and sprinting. She knew that if she'd be only within five meters of Ayana, she'd take it because she (Obiri) has an awesome kick and Ayana doesn't. With two laps to go , Obiri tested her and she resisted leaving Obiri with no option but to take off with 300m to go.
Thise is my best race ever....i alwaiz watch it again and again
Lovely performance from the two neighbors .love to Ethiopia from Kenya. Obiri forever
The commentary is world class.

Good luck, keep working at it
Unless you're training for high level competition where money is involved, running is one of the worst things you can do for your body and articulations. Don't run 5ks, find something else to do. You'll thank me when you're older

Congratulations Obiri. We are proud of you. Our flag flies high 🇰🇪
Proud of what this commentators are. In fact they are the reasons for my now and again watching this race
The commentator had probably seen it coming. Obiri has the experience of middle distance running which needs a bit of speed. By keeping up with Ayana's resilience of long distance running, Obiri would definitely outsprint Ayana in the last lap.
These two ladies displayed the highest level of skill much respect
🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 Kenyan we never disappoint 🇰🇪 🇰🇪 🇰🇪
I love the pride of the 3 Kenyans. The flags🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪 speak it all. And wow!! I am a proud Kenyan🇰🇪🇰🇪. Oo Yees❤️
One of the best things Vivian Cheruiyot did apart from winning multiple Gold medals for Kenya was to nurture Helen Obiri. Janeth Jepkosgei gave us Eunice Sum in 800M, Vivian gave us Obiri. Proudly 🇰🇪
And Eliud Kipchoge is mentoring Faith Kipyegon can you imagine that 😃😃
I wanted Ayana to win but wow Obiri! That acceleration is superb! I'm happy either way
No, Ayana is similar to Letesenbet Gidey, if she fails to create a sufficient lead, she has no chance in the sprint with the others. Ayana was well aware of this weakness, as was Obiri, which was a psychological advantage for Obiri. In addition, in 2017 Ayana had an injury that recovered a week before this race in a 10,000m victory. The injury marked the end of her career. Obiri is an original nice lady, I wish her that
@@eksot1237 whats the whole point of your comment
@@waterproof4403 Just such a simple talk about the matter, probably no extraordinary point. Personally, I'm more of a fan of Ayana, she probably won't run anymore, but she has God's blessing - a small child.

Very true
But the support is not as much - a lot of these athletes are probably known just by name. Kenyans are soccer mad
