This is the entire history of the Destiny franchise. This is the story of Guardians everywhere. This is our story.
Destiny has changed a LOT since 2008, so today we're going on a nostalgic journey through the ages to relive the Destiny experience over the years. If you're a veteran player, this will be a fascinating and nostalgic experience. If you're a newer player (or a player who took a break), this video will fill you in on what you missed. Since most of this content is no longer playable in the game, it's important to recognize it and reflect on how we got to where we are today. I hope you enjoy this video, and thank you so much for watching. Seriously. It means the world.
The weapons in Destiny are a very important part of its evolution and history. Although some weapons are mentioned, this video doesn't really cover them in detail. So after you're done watching, go check out my other video on the ENTIRE Evolution of Destiny's Weapons: • The ENTIRE Evolution o...

    • I hate to say it, but I hope that instead of trying to squeeze another decade or whatever out of Destiny they make a new game that recaptures the magic of D1Y1. No matter what that feeling's not coming back with this series sheerly because we know everything about it now, for all its faults I miss when it was the wild west and nobody knew what they were doing. I'm hoping Matter will be good.

  • When I was a kid, the PS4 had finally dropped and my dad bought one for himself. Eventually he had pre-ordered Destiny and played the alpha, he would never play anything else for the majority of the time. (he still plays to this day) What's funny is that I had nothing else to do, so I'd watch for hours as he'd farm the cave, eventually he bought the Red Death and Gallahorn. Once the Crucible Map Expansion dropped, he'd stay on all night trying to improve. I never really played the first Destiny much, yet I can recall every single detail mentioned in this video.

Everything you covered i remember clear as day "Everyone was working through The Taken King's story" and all i can think is YES YES THAT WAS ME, I faked a sickie that day and slammed through it, while everyone else had finished school and would be on there way home, i had beaten Oryx and was already working through quests and getting more exotics. Sometimes we forget the past, and we grow accustomed and entitled to the present. Watching this has allowed me to gain a greater appreciation of the amazing strides the game has made sense it's initial alpha release.

  • cant put into words the feelings i got in the first 10 minutes, the silence before the opening screen music brought a tear to my eye, seeing the trailers i watched on tv as a kid, remembering telling my parents about it days before launch and waking up to the game on launch day, downloaded and ready to play on my ps3. Fast forward 9 years later, i still wake up every day and hop in a match of crucible or do an refurbished d1 strike. Cant believe its almost been 10 years now, how far we've come, regardless of how much hate people put toward this game, I will always be a guardian at heart.

  • I remember my older brother got destiny for his birthday when it first came out. He went away that weekend and told me not to play his character. Me at the time not understanding how progression in a game like this worked decided to play his character thinking it would only help him out and he would love that I helped. Needless to say, when his character was basically maxed out, beaten all the campaign, etc. when he came back home, he was upset. From there I never quit playing until the dark times in D2. I do love the memories this game has given and the journey it has brought us on.

I honestly can't belive the impact this game has had on the gaming community as a whole I hope this game never dies especially when fps and battle royal games are still on the rise. Something I've realized while playing this game is the community, as a person who has only played fps and battle royals with thier toxic community's and massive egos, I was thinking d2 would be the same. But it wasn't every player I've met so far in this game has been incredibly nice and helpful. Cheers to you and this game 🥂.
