THANK YOU FOR WATCHING AND BEING WONDERFUL!!!
The hair, the blue shadow, the glowy skin and top/dress is giving such 70s vibes and it's stunning on you!! Beautiful!
Yes I would love to see her hair feathered! Where is that trend? It needs to make a comeback!
Agreed! Hannah can rock any look.
Hannah looks like a movie star in that look!
I was just about to say the same thing! Hannah looks like the 4th Charlie’s Angel.
Yes! I was so looking for this comment! I swear!!! 😂😂
As an oily-skin person who gets sweaty-faced if the temp is over 73 -- plus the fact that my skin is changing a lot lately (tysm, perimenopause!) -- I'm very much Team Minimal Base now. Full coverage foundation isn't doing me any favors these days, and it's just impossible to main that "done" look when you're a sweat factory who lives in the gulf south. ALSO ... it's absolutely amazing how much blemishes/spots/things you want to cover seem to "disappear" once you increase the overall _contrast_ on your face. Fill brows, apply mascara, strong lip color, and a little blush -- suddenly those spots don't jump out anymore, because they're kinda blending into the background and the focus is on the stronger contrast of your lips and eyes. Magic!
Absolutely agree and I have found this to be so very true about blemishes/ contrast in the last year or so. I do everything else before I can seal. I honestly wouldn’t do it any other way now. I have found that I can seal less than I do when I start concealing first. And I only spot to conceal, even if I have some slight redness on my cheeks, I use a bit of a red blush anyway, which usually covers it up better than trying to conceal it! Thank you for sharing this about contrast, because I think so many more people need to experiment this way! I find I apply far less make up and I ever did before and I actually look effortless because it was effortless
@@ashlynnkaplan680 Yep! Less work, for what's often a better end result, that's also easier to maintain. Win win win! (This is absolutely NOT because I'm lazy and can't be bovvered.) (Okay it's a little bit that.)
👊🏻 periperson. This is a no man’s land of oddities they don’t ever sufficiently disclose
@@caitybelle It's a WIIIIIILD RIDE, and dang I haven't even hit the "hot flashes" stage yet. :|
That's weird. I don't usually wear foundation at all, which works fine, if I do a minimal makeup routine. Mascara, eyebrows and just a hint of blush and lipgloss or tint. But as soon as I apply real lipstick or do a more bold eye look...suddenly my skin looks way worse. Shinyness, pores, patchyness...every tiny little flaw jumps out at me. Things, I don't even register, usually. And I'm like 99% sure, it's not me wearing an unflattering color or such. I tried a lot of lipsticks in my life and I'm pretty sure that by now, I've figured out, what suits me. But if I want to actually wear it, I feel I need to wear foundation as well, to even out my skin first.
I have a very hooded inner corner that I've basically spent my entire makeup-wearing life trying to cover or hide away so my favorite makeup risk I've gotten into recently is actually putting a textured sparkle, a glitter, a bright color over that inner corner and drawing attention to the hoodedness of my eyes there and I've found that I actually love it.
Hi Hannah I was forced this week to wear no complexion make-up as I had microneedling done and was advised to do limited make-up this week . I had my first compliment today as a male colleague said I looked so beautiful today ,wow can you believe it only had on a bronze nude lip product and eye liner as an added color this was such a big eye opener for me with regards to changing up my look😁
I appreciate seeing 1990 full on here. It made me realize just how "up my alley" this shade is. I own exactly zero lipsticks, I am a lip chewer lol. I would quit that habit for 1990.
Fellow lip chewer here. My lipstick doesn't look good for long at all - the middle is usually gone within 15 minutes - but I still wear it. I just make sure I always have a small mirror & wind down lipbrush and reapply the centre. (And as I'm a skin biter too, bright red lipstick shows up all over my hands!) Don't deprive yourself. 💄👄
I remember wearing a red lip round the house a few times first before wearing it out for the first time, and that helped me get used to my face in it. For my makeup risk: as a pale person, I found bronzer a risk before. I'm just starting to wear lip liner for the first time and overdraw my lips. Feels really risky to me still!
I’m a guy and I don’t like looking too painted but been wearing a very light base(rose Inc.) for evenings out and events. It’s super low maintenance and I don’t feel suffocated and I don’t think it looks as severe as men can look with a full beat and a beard. I do test runs at home on the weekend if I’m adding eye makeup.
Love 💕 the idea of freshness and newness without any purchases. Let’s all take a moment for self-reflection and think about all the multitudes of reasons why we wear makeup and buy things - especially makeup - and how we can recreate those feelings without buying more things! Genius!
This is exactly why I started following you - thoughtful, creative, and artistic ideas that are borne from the friction of setting boundaries. Don’t just go buy something for inspiration, make it work with what you already have. Chef’s kiss!!
I’m so attracted to that magical Natasha Denona potion every time you use it
Saaaaame
I love this! For people who wear a full face of makeup every day, minimal makeup feels like a huge risk. Vice versa, a full face for those who like minimal makeup would be a way to step out of their comfort zone. You touched on another great idea. For those who love to glow, trying a matte look would be interesting, and vice versa, going from matte to glowing could be a great challenge. Neutral to bright could be fun, similar to what you did. Mixing warm and cool tones could be interesting. You never know what you may find. Walking through a department store, a brand rep asked if she could try a new color of blush on me. It had just come in, and she wanted to see how it looked. That little experiment taught me that the peach blushes I always wore didn’t do for me what pink did, especially a bright, blue-based pink like we’ve seen popularized lately.
This is like a "shop your closet" vid only for makeup 🙂 Thanks for the challenge Hannah!!
Another fun “risk” that I love is to wear a pop of color as a liner. I had this teal eyeliner a long time ago that I used to wait to use for like the “right” occasion which meant I never wore it. I then decided one day that I wanted to use it up so I just started wearing it like every day and I loved it so much. It was such a simple way to do something just a little bit fun and I’ve honestly missed it ever since I finished it up.
Teal must have been *the* color to do this with at some point. Adding teal shadow as liner was my go to look in the late '00s
Loving the pale blue monochrome. I can't walk away from my eyeshadow without adding something sparkly, but this is a reminder of how nice a coloured matte can look.
Here is what I do to de-rut. In the summer when I tan, I have been known to do a bold colored pencil eyeliner with a corresponding colored mascara. Cheeks are blush free. Base products are minimal. Lips are sheer and nude, like with a slightly shimmery nude gloss. Favorite eye colors include teal pencil with green mascara, cobalt pencil with cobalt mascara, lavender pencil with purple mascara. I wrap the color all around the eye and smudge it and go in with a generous amount of mascara. The eyes come front and center and it’s a great look with bronzed skin. You can experiment with bronzer all over the face and then do the eye. Then, to really complete the message, wear corresponding colored earrings.
REALLY here for less base product. Am tired of fighting to find the right match or having to be precious about it either. Great look, HLP 🎉
My makeup risk I’ve tried a time or two now, was a multi-color-blocked pastel eye. I loved it, and actually thought it turned out really flattering. I like the idea of makeup as personality/fun/character, rather than “beautifying”
I like this concept! A risk I think anyone can take is repurposing products such as eyeshadow shadow as blush - some of us have neon pinks that we can try the pink blush trend with. Can you do a video on your signature looks? About 2 years ago I started collecting really loved looks and noting the descriptions and products, I’m at about 20 very loved combinations so far. It’s some double liner, it’s some spicy neutrals, it’s some shadow placement/blending techniques, and sometimes it’s just a color block combo that really suits me.
A risk that I recently took and I love is to wear no base (only sunscreen) and use a lipstick as a monochromatic colour all over the face (lips, cheeks, eyes and a bit of the forehead). No concealer and no mascara. Intellectually stimulating video as always. Thank you for providing Beaty with Brains x
The light blue eyeshadow is absolutely killer on you! It is such a lovely contrast to your natural coloring, but it is also awesome to see that amazing Gucci shade in use. LOVE!
These are my makeup strategies! So interesting that someone's idea of risking is someone else's safety.
Hannah the blue eye look is delightful 🤍
You have inspired me to step out in just some Glow Lust all over, and a bit of shape tape on my forehead, undereyes, and chin. I feel beautiful and light!✨
love it!!!
I feel like having two toddlers has pushed me into the less base bold lipstick space. When you have limited time and still want to look good it really works…needless to say I own so many bold lipsticks now. Also I got bangs, cheap alternative to Botox 😂
UGH that blue eye and glossy lip!! so right!!
This blue pop up your eyes dramaticly! Stunning
LOVE the blue eyeshadow look on you! You look Lana del Rey-Ish 🤩💙
Same!
it feels like you've described my usual makeup - no base/bear base, bold lip without any other makeup or one bold eyeshadow without sculpting 💜 I guess skipping mascara and not doing *anything* with brows can be those risks worth trying)
I've been doing number 1 and 2 for years. Actually, it never ceases to amaze me how much complexion makeup Americans tend to wear. They call it flawless but, in my opinion, when their faces look completely different than their chest and arms, it doesn't look like flawless skin, it just looks like they're wearing a mask. Same with fake eyelashes, so plasticky and, well, so fake. However, I love a bold (and therefore fake) lipstick, so I guess it's just a matter of preferences😅
Smudging black or other super dark colour along the lash line or in the outer corner if you're a mid toned eye shadow girlie 👁️🗨️
Wow the blue eyeshadow looks so fresh and springy on you! So so pretty 💙
I like trying out different locations on my eyes for a single focal point for a pop of colour. Instead of the inner corner with a sparkle, I can do a circle of colour on the outer eye, or a coloured liner look but on the bottom lash. Something that helps me thinks of the shapes differently and not just the colours
OMG that babyblue eyeshadow suits you so well! 😻😻😻
From the 3rd thing, a matte eye at all would be something new for me. The other two, I often do. I also like to wear one and done shimmer or satin shadows. But when I try to do all matte (not just monochromatic), I tend to throw a topper over it. I tend to go ham on the shimmers 😂 But watching different creators definitely helps me to keep my makeup game fun. I love recreating looks, whether it's from videos or pictures. The next look I wanna do is one of the Yucca palette promo pics.
I am totally the same with always throwing a topper on even if I've tried to do all matte!
I've been enjoying the single shadow look a lot these days. It's been extra helpful on days where I'm in a funk and a whole face seems like too much work. I try to use a happy color and see if it helps improve my mood.
Yay! Light blue eyeshadows Have been waiting for you to show us how you wear it, NOT DISAPPOINTED
This is very similar to my makeup style. My skin is pretty good, so I’ll just slap on tinted SPF mixed with a glow product for base then I do one feature only: bold lip, eyeshadow or that sunburnt blush look (plus a light coat of brown mascara with any of the looks). I feel these “single feature” looks are very fresh and modern.
I recently lightened up on foundation and feel so much better. I have always worn full coverage due to rosacea, lots of broken capillaries and high sensitivity to hot weather (I live in Georgia 🙄). It came down to no longer caring what anyone thought about me. When I'm in public with no makeup people ask me if I'm feeling ok, it's that bad. Once, a thoughtful cashier started to fan me with a poster because she thought I was overheated, but in reality I was just fine. Transitioning to a lighter coverage foundation was truly pushing myself but I'm glad I have done it 🎉 I love a bold lip!! My favorites are Sephora #lipstories in matinee and Labyrinth city, Sephora satin lipstick in 15, and Revlon cherries in the snow. Wow!! I need to try that monochrome eye!! I know I have untouched shades in my collection. Lovely video ❤😊
That’s it I’m fed up of trying to obtain a perfect base in the morning while rushing to work. I’m going basic with a mono eye loved it 😍
This is sort of in the vein of your first suggestion, but: I used to never want to wear eye makeup without also base makeup, because the skin felt too natural in contrast to the made-upedness of my eyes. This, however, would inevitably lead to me not wearing makeup at all, because I don't muuuuch care for sweating through foundation, as I will inevitably do, in case I apply it. So my makeup risk, which I now love doing, is saying fuck it, applying eye- and cheek makeup, but just leaving my skin as is. And it works really well. It's not perfect or necessarily balanced, but it's me and my makeup excitement shining through instead of "creating the perfect look/face".
The strong lip is a reallllly hard look for me. It feels a bit like my nemesis at this point lol. I have been trying to find a way to wear it my entire adult life. The funny thing is, I have done it for an art photography series I did ages ago (I didn’t have any models I could use for the project at the time so I used myself) and those are, to this day, my favourite images of myself. When I show them to people who want to see my work, they gravitate towards them and always ask me who modelled for me hahahah. Which I don’t know how to take ….. anyhow. Point being, in a photograph it looks stunning on me. Me looking at my face in the mirror I just can’t !!!! It looks too crazy. So, clearly this is the risk that is calling my name. I’m going to just plug my nose and go for it for at least a week. Leave the house in it and everything. I love the monochromatic eye look. Will absolutely be playing around with that one. I regularly go without complexion makeup and then go through phases of wearing it all the time. It is fun to explore the contours of your own face by comparing and contrasting all these tools and devices we can employ. ❤
Yay! I’ve followed Alyssa for years and y’all have always struck me as playing similar tunes just w different instruments. So fun seeing your take on this idea!
I had the habit of using way too much coverage, considering that I'm blessed with a mostly blemish less skin. I just have enlarged pores on the nose, but I don't care about that, it's real skin and I feel like we beauty lovers are taught to hide what is (mostly) universally considered just normal skin. I realized I was doing it because influencers were, and realized I mostly want a base product cause I find that the rest of the makeup stocks better to it. I have been wearing minimal if none base makeup. I just have underye circles that I cover, cause it makes me feel more awake 😂
Hannah, I LOVE this idea! You look especially great in that blue eye shadow look! A risky look I've been meaning to try is false lashes only--no eyeshadow, and the rest of my face pretty bare and neutral. I have very little space for falsies, and most of them look ridiculous on me because they go way up into my brows. However, I found one style that I like. Problem is I'm so unskilled at applying them, that I mess up my eye makeup every time. So I thought wearing only the falsies with no other eye makeup would be the cure for that. I need to remember to try it!
Oh my goodness the blue shadow w/the lashes and soft lip is stunning on you Hannah, a TOTAL mood!
a risk I want to try is a heavy under eye eyeshadow with little to nothing on the upper lid and i also want to try no sculpting products, just a statement blush on the cheek and blended onto the eye
Some simple but impactful ideas, feeling very inspired now! A bunch of years ago I had a bright, mid-toned blue eyeliner that I used to line my upper lashes with. It falls into the monochromatic but colorful eye look, I might need to make that my summer eye…
I audibly gasped at the reveal of the soft blue eye shadow. It works perfectly with that suuuuper light makeup base and just a touch of mascara. I’m doing this look today! (But with a pastel purple)
My version of only using a lipstick as color makeup is wearing blush with no other color makeup (usually I use clear shiny lipgloss with it though). It’s kind of fresh and sweet looking I think. Very season appropriate right now
Wow I am seeing your subscriber count sky rocket over the past months, and I am so happy for you. This such a nice community you’ve built here. I’m so glad to be a part of it😊
Okay but for your consideration: that gucci blue eyeshadow + merit 1990. I love a pastel eyeshadow with brown lips!!
I love your practicality on suggesting we use what is already in our stash . I have so much stuff and many times I don’t even use makeup because it’s so hot where I live in South Texas . So I end up with a collection that doesn’t get used or used very lightly . I am a one and done color person so I don’t really need another new palette. 😊You are a breath of fresh air and a beauty . Keep on doing such a great job for both the younger ladies as well as us more mature ladies I love that your recommendations span all age groups ❤❤❤❤❤
Love the eye look!
The first word that comes to mind when I think of you is elegant ❣️
Loved this video idea
the blue eyeshadow is such a perfect shade and looks beautiful on you!
I love your ideas that was so fun!
Really appreciate these ideas!! Thanks ♥️
Love the last look!! So much fun!
Same!
as someone on like… baby (foetus?) levels of makeup artistry, these looks appeal to me a LOT because of how un-intimidating they seem in terms of application. ever since you showed the about face eye paints i’ve been considering investing in one for one-and-done looks. (i’m curious if you did end up keeping the fractal glitter one, it’s the one i’m most drawn to) 💜
Im a guy and I have the shimmery silver one and it has a lot of impact very easily. It’s a great fun shadow. I am just dabbling in stuff like that and we go out dancing a lot😊
@@taintedlife2618 ooh thank you! ☺️ i’ve seen people apply the silver and that also looks really pretty 🤩
Basically, my daily make-up routine is right here. If I wear foundation at all, it's when my husband and I are going on a date or out to a show. The rest of the time, it's moisturizer, sunscreen, concealer and something on my lips.
❤I just love your videos Hannah!
You look a boatload younger and healthier in this last look with the glowy skin and simple eyeshadow.
Cute dress! I love the pattern!
I love these fun, little suggestions.
Love this going to try these
i love the concept of this video!! so excited to try these all out :'))))
Love this idea! More challenges!
I love this video and your makeup looks gorgeous I love this 💜
i love this look! classy and beautiful!❤
Wow, I just discovered both your channel and Alyssa’s this past month, and have been loving both of y’all’s perspectives on slow fashion/beauty and your creativity in pulling together great looks without spending more. So it was fun to hear you mention her! Loved this video; inspired to try all of these. :)
Thank you for this video, I’m definitely inspired! 💜🌻✌🏻
Love this! Going to plan for my bold lip tomorrow 💙🩷
The eyeshadow looks so fun and stunning!!
Beautiful fresh and light looks for summer
Oooh, I'm early! Alyssa Beltempo is great, love seeing you mention her!
It's interesting how us makeup lovers need to make a conscious choice to do less, as you mentioned with foundation. this summer, I'm trying to do as little as possible with my makeup while still feeling done-up bc I want to re-apply spf more often. it really took months of experimenting to find a five-minute-makeup look that I love bc I only used to like a full makeup look or no makeup at all. it's so strange bc most of my friends have the opposite "problem" where they feel clownish with more than minimal makeup (granted, I live in Germany where generally no or minimal makeup is the common look)
I love Alyssa! Her tips have helped w my wardrobe 😊
This is a brilliant video. Loved it. *chefs kiss*
Im in my early 40s and thanks to my obsession with Interview With A Vampire as a teen I wasn't a tanner. my skin is still in great shape, but my skin is still ageing and a full face of foundation just isn't flattering. i do stuggle with acne ocassionally, and just covering my break outs with an excellent match concealer looks SO much better.
Wow! The blue eyeshadow looks really nice!❤
Great video concept, the third look is so fresh on you!
That blue! So amazing on you!
Such a lovely look for you! The dewy powder was the perfect addition
Inspiring and makes me want to try all of it.
I love the first two ideas, but I literally gasped with delight at the third ❤
#2 is actually how I do my makeup every day. My base makeup usually looks a lot like #1. This year, I would like to take a risk by trying liquid foundation for the first time.
Thoughtful, creative, inspiring - just the Monday boost I needed
hannah you are just the best, i love you and your videos infinitely, hope you and baby poston are happy and healthy
That blue looks STUNNING on you!!
That blue eyeshadow looks beautiful on youuuuu
So fun! I’m enjoying taking risks by wearing just a bit too much blush❤I did it today and just love it.
That sky blue shadow is a great look for you. it looks like the 60s brought forward to today - modern mod.
Ohhh love this so much! Thank you for giving me inspo for one of my next videos 😊 I have been playing it so so safe with makeup lately and I think #3 is just what I need to get the creative juices flowing and inspire my makeup playtime!
Wow! The blue eyeshadow looks INCREDIBLE on you! So summery and chic. I really love it! 💙🌻🦋✨
I absolutely adore that blue eyeshadow on you! Wow! Now I want to dive into my stash and find something unworn❤
I love Alyssa’s channel! I’m starting a low buy so the idea of being risky with what I already have is super fun and creative.
I've never seen a powder blue eyeshadow on anyone that looked good until now!
Now that we are well into summer it's nice to minimize the makeup whether its a base product or very little eye makeup. But boy , do I like a bold lip anytime. Again a fun vid Hannah. Thanks for the inspirations! ❤❤❤
hannah, you and alyssa are my absolute favorites. i am so glad you enjoy her too!
Love that blue shadow on you.
