  • I am not a professional and have recently started doing my own nails. I have learned so much from you. I know that if I ever have a question about what I am doing or what I need to do that I simply need to visit your channel. Thank you for putting in the time to educate us. You’re a great teacher and I appreciate you very much.

  • Some of my pet peeves is it when people build the nail almost completely flat, no apex, sides filed so hard it's exposing layers and angled, the free edge is flat, no c curve at all 🙃. I've been seeing this a lot lately even with well established techs

  • An apex is sooo important for the structure of nails. Especially longer ones. I’ve seen some really bad breaks that snap the natural nail off when nail techs haven’t built a proper structure. That doesn’t mean the nails need a huge bump in it, the size of the apex depends on the length of the nail. Glad you covered this suzie. Tyfs ☺️💕 Xx

    • I freaking LOVE polygel!!! It really is a GREAT WAY to learn! You don't have the time restraints like with acrylic, but you have the benefits of acrylic with the strength and stability and how it stays until you decide you want it moved... it's like the best of both worlds!😄 I think you'll gradually find yourself getting better and better at other mediums just by using polygel. I never thought I would TOUCH builder gel, and I thought that my right hand was just always gonna have a shaky application, and that these were facts I just needed to accept... But I actually don't use acrylic anymore unless I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO! (And I have found ways to make working with my left hand easier... well, it's still unnatural feeling, but it has MUCH BETTER OUTCOMES! Actually, most of the time my right hand looks better because I'm being so careful!) But yeah, girl, if you aren't loving acrylic, but you're great at polygel, you'll probably LOVE gel too!💖 No stinky knockout monomer smell!

      @katielunn6394@katielunn63942 жыл бұрын
    • @@katielunn6394 i love polygel too!!!! It's so much easier to work with! I'm good with polygel on myself but when it comes to others, it's a different story cause everyone's hands are sooooo different and they aren't mine that I'm use to working on😂 but I'm working on it.... I got the essential stuff for acrylic but haven't got to practice yet on how it actually works... you're right the momoner is stink🤧 and polygel, you can use an alcohol based liquid to use to work with the polygel! Which is amazing!

  • I always visualize my apex as a teardrop with the bigger end toward the cuticle and the point going pretty much all the way to the end of the nail. Sometimes it's a little squat tear drop and is more spread out and other times it's thinner and more elongated depending on the shape and length of the nail.

  • I just started to do my nails at home and I am learning so much by watching you. I want a set of professional brushes in those rainbow colors. 🌈In like sizes 8, 10, and 12 with an art brush and a gel brush. Do you have a set like that?

  • Like liz from the nailhub said, it needed to looked like a dolphin nose. ;) love this video!!! Honestly, around me where i do nails, NO ONE ever do any kind of apex...

  • Lol. For me, that weak spot is east to find because it’s where my natural nail will break, or tear or go below the quick. It even happens when my nail is fairly short.

  • I'm no professional and do my own nails to stop myself from biting them because I'm a stress biter who's tired of my nails looking so ugly. Knowing where to put the apex is one of my biggest struggles right now, particularly because most of the vids I watch about nail apexes is more for long nails, rather than the short nails I need for both work at my labor-intensive job/personal comfort. Can you make a video to show where to build the apex on short nails?

    • I have never really built an apex up really big. Never liked the look. I probably make them too thin but clients like it and the nails stay fine.

Xx

    • @Grey Jade aww god no wonder you passed out that would be bloody sore! Yeah I’ve had a few girls say to me that they’ve had that, when they’ve went to a nail tech who hasn’t done an apex properly on their nail. One of the girls had to go to a&e because she developed a nasty infection due to it. 😢. It took nearly 10months for her nail to fully recover before I could do a set on her. Xx

    • @Grey Jade I know, same. Absolutely they need to be covered, especially for nail enthusiasts just starting out or newbie nail techs. I was taught it as part of my nail tech course tbf, but I know a few people that weren’t. Xx

  • Hi Suzie, I love your videos, but have you done one, or can you do one, on how you achieve the apex like that using the Kiara Sky gel nails please. I started buying her tips and products thanks to a video I saw you did on them, and I do love the products (I am older with failing eyesight so building my nails never seems to work) but using these techniques, my nails are flat. I don't wear them long anyway, but they are so noticeably fake when they are flat like they are. Thank you :)
