I'm not a native myself so i can relate but she's a big influencer, she's teaching other people and making a sh*tload of money. • Yeah, this is the exact problem I have with her. When you teach people something you must double check the information you're presenting to people cus you're responsible for what you teach. I'm an English tutor myself, but I'm only teaching my students the things I'm 100% sure about. And even though I kinda feel like my English is good, I still watch lots of educational videos and read some useful articles to improve my skills. Sometimes I'm shocked that I didn't know some very basics while being a C1 speaker. And I'm a Russian myself, and as a child I used to watch Marina's videos a lot cus it seemed fun and practical. However... Now I know that the info she shared is false. It's sad that English learners face such problems.

It is not nice to underestimate all non-native English speakers unless you aim that to those who consistently make mistakes. • Самое прикольное для меня - то, что когда я смотрела то самое видео Люси и Марины несколько месяцев назад, я сразу подумала, что это нетипично с точки зрения грамматики и нелогично абсолютно, когда говорят Why won't I be? Thanks a lot, Kevin, my best English teacher.

Other English speaking natives would think it’s unnecessary rude to reply like that, but they wouldn’t correct a foreigner in order not to offend her. • This channel is not only great for non-native but also native speakers who are trying to unlearned all of these mistakes. As an expat, the "Tube and Underground" parts got to me. I laughed so hard because I knew I wasn't crazy when I kept saying subway while everyone around me said underground, metro, or tube. 😂

  • I love your channel so much. If not for you I would have never noticed these mistakes, as a Russian learner. In fact I did watch the original Lucy and Marina's video and couldn't see those mistakes. But I'm a perfectionist by nature, so the job that you do is extremely important to me for my accurate learning of English. Thanks a lot!!!

    • Those mistakes are conspicuous for the more advanced English learners, the problem is she teaches English to the lower levels, they can't notice what they don't know yet, and if someone in the comments points out her mistakes, other people just say you're jealous :)

    • That’s why you shouldn’t trust someone without any formal language education or someone, who has only been in an English speaking country for a hot minute. It doesn’t make them a teacher. Has someone ever checked her qualifications? She blatantly lied about studying in an American university..nobody found any legal records..Dear Russian people, hire yourselves a properly qualified language teacher or, possibly, someone who has lived in an English speaking country for at least 20 years. Those people would have had the experience you might benefit the most from…

Actually I’m astonished at her self-confidence … Even in a good way. 😂

  • I really haven’t knew about “neither one” thank you so much Kevin! And, as always, I’m shocked by Marina’s Mogilko mistakes, I was also surprised when she said that in America they called tube as an underground 😂 even me, who don’t live in America know that underground is British way and subway is American. I don’t want to use bad words but it’s so difficult because she is really ridiculous when she said “in America WE say” and says something that in America is never said lol

  • Marina sounds absolutely American in comparison to British. That's why Lucy made that video with her, I believe. But, I can't understand why not with a native speaker, to avoid such mistakes and also to be precise in examples, not superficial 😅 she should have an American English teacher in her team to correct her before posting videos!!! And that teacher should be American, because that's the English she thinks that masters!
