    • I was watching this and read your comment, stopped the video, downloaded the audio book, listened to the entirety of it, and have come to say I whole heartedly agree. I do agree that it’s incredibly inspiring and purely amazing how she has come up and out the way she has with everything she has been through. But I would not call most of the things written down in her book iconic since she was literally a child when most of this was taking place? and I didn’t find it funny for the most part but that may be just because I found the book just so raw and relentlessly sad. I literally hope so bad the rest of her life is a breeze bc damn

I then saw her guest judge on Project Runway and from the brief little insight into her there I really liked her. She seemed like she was just someone who was able to live out her eccentric dreams. Is she attention grabbing, definitely, but I didn’t get any negative or inauthentic vibes off her like a lot of people trying to be internet influencers as a comparison. She seems like a person with a plan who’s having fun executing it, people have a tendency to look negatively upon those who seek fame in seemingly odd ways but to me she doesn’t seem like she’s hurting anyone and at least now, post Kanye, she seems comfortable with the attention she’s pulling and in control of it. Just kind of wanted to put my current perceptions of her down before watching this, I’m excited for a little more insight into her.

  • I was also named after a book character! My name is Fleur (changed it for yt) but I wasn’t actually named after the Harry Potter character, I was named after Fleur from the Forsyte Saga

  • I've always said that I was destined to be a reader because my mom spelled my middle name Ayn after Ayn Rand cause she really liked her books when she was pregnant with me lol

  • I think you would really enjoy listening to the episode with Bret Easton Ellis on the pocast called Cafe Bambino. Two swedish journalists interviews Ellis about The Shards. One of the women on the podcast, Tone Schunnesson, has also written a couple of great novels. In particular Days and Days and Days, which I think you would really enjoy and I'd love to hear your opinion on it! x

  • The sheer vision of Jack Edwards reviewing my little collection of poetry and quotable bits lifts open the windows of my curiosity for his entertaining gabbing and unfiltered criticism. Even if he seemed unimpressed by my work, I would be personally impressed that Jack Edwards read my book and made a commentary about it.

  • I got both hers and Jadas books at the same time. Read Julias one first literally couldnt put it down! What a jarring and stressful experience, ive always kinda liked her she gives me early 2k camp kween I havent been able to get through Jadas book i guess its a slow burn.... also Julias book feels personable from the jump so maybe thats what kept me hooked
