over the years you have taught this 72 year old how to test and fix some lap top problems.. I am still learning to go further through your most excellent video's.. Thanks for the fun Sorin!!
I came into this channel with no knowledge of how to fix a laptop. But what I've leant so I can't even begin to describe it or mention it. Sir you're a LEGEND 💯🎉🎉🎉
Me too, how wonderful is Sorin :)
King of repair for learner is Mr Sorin our legend and teacher
Well done Sorin good job as always! I want to say hello to Mike your special customer as I did watch the earlier video and Mike and I worked together for many years so it was good to see him appear on your channel after all these years
Hi Mr Sorin, The IC is ISL9538H, the datasheet is for ISL95338 and the video title indicates ISL 95388. Nevertheless, the video goal is clearly achieved 👏 👌
I can't believe this. I am working on the exact same chip with the same issue! Unfortunately, I don't have a spare.
Nice vid mate I've been watching you for about 3 years This was a one of the nicest vids mate
These videos are amazing. I have very low experience, but thanks to your videos, I was already able to fix two devices, both of which had problems with power supply (faulty caps and shorted diode) I think I would also be able to fix a broken laptop, but didn't get my hand on any yet. I had once diagnosed a laptop and I think even correctly, but didn't want to spend any money on it since it didn't have any value.
Great work, nice lesson!
Love these type of repairs the most ❤
I think I will fix my today it's 2 days now,I got a hint,. Thank you sir for this wonderful work, I really appreciate🎉 ❤
Another proper nice repair💪🏻💪🏻
@@zZFlaviusBoss 😂👍
Thanks for sharing, really learning a lot from you
I can tell even without that spare board Sorin would have mastered it again probably he would have injected something like 3.3 v or 1 v at that LDO output to follow the current anyway. Great job Sorin.
I buy some of Sorin's rosin. I hope it works well. I can't wait to try it out. You have such great videos.
Nice job
Good job mate
Well done Sorin🎉🎉🎉🎉
Grt job, special salute
very nice job
We had a lot G5 in our company running. Fix for this problem was pressing "Power +F6" for 30 seconds.
Thanks, do you have more tips for the G5 and G6? I have a lot of these models with almost the same issues.
@@vandehoek - Holding the power button pressed for 15 seconds - Bios update - loading setup defauls - in case of a bluescreen --> RAM test if RAM is ok and bluescreen appears even after a fresh installation of Windows, board has an issue.
nice work...
One of the problems with the INTERSIL 9538H is that the microcontroller does not charge the battery. Thanks for the video
Superb ⚡️👌🏻
просто великолепно интересно и информативно.Спасибо Вам
Yang ang t-shirt na di nakakahiyang suotin! Baka naman..hehe
I remember this 😁
Goooood
Nicee🔥
25:15 inserting the nvme without unplugging the charger is kinda scary
I posted on your forum a very similar issue on a HP ZBook Firefly 15. Those ISL chips are as crappy as BQ chips.
Cool
how u know from what pin start detect isue bq or intersilk? how to find sequence pin?
A fiddly one to fix but Sorin spotted it. excellent and definitely a pizza
The ldo voltage is internal to the intersil chip. You could check the gate for 25v. Thats what you should have.
❤❤❤
Did the power supply clicked when the charger was plugged at 23:38 or something else clicked? Also towards the end at 26:54 there was another click, even though the current doesn't exceeds the power supply limit.
I like sonny vaio ❤
Don't forget to look at the part designators on the PCB... D6035... that small part is clearly a double diode ;-)
MAster sorin, this is pretty nice repair video, please I need help I try to get thermal cam but it is crazy expensive to get to me in Nigeria, sometimes I can't see some bad Ic due to they don't produce much heat I can't see it with petrol to fix it. I need help.
Here's some help and advice. You have to do what everyone else does and work hard and save some money every week until you have enough to buy new equipment. When I first started repairing I used IPA and a small brush to highlight overheating components, it was about 10 years before I got a thermal camera and that was because the prices had dropped and they were no longer a luxury. I started my business 20ish years ago with a borrowed soldering iron, an old multimeter and a set of cheap screwdrivers and upgraded when I could afford to. People will only give you money if you repair their items, they don't give it you for free...
Nice Job Boss
Can you tell me your isolate tapes inner diameter? (The blue inner ring inside)
Have the exact same issues with a dell and msi gaming laptop, where it detects the charger but refuses to charge the battery, for the msi only when i remove the battery and the reset the cmos then it would charge the battery but it i remove the charger and then plug it back again it will no longer charge, the msi would detect the but will not charge and the battery will not rundown when in use and plugged in...
Hi Sorin, Why the battery dont charge with 13v direct? Thank you so much.
Dont forget data pin 😊
@@meherhjb7170 thanks Sir
I have this laptop with no power after replacing the isl chip it works but not picture on internal screen it shows on hdmi but not the internal one even i tested the screen on a same laptop and it worked fine Also i have backlight working but no image Any help
the isl 95388 is the power system circuit
Why don't you stick a thermo pad on the part?
The pad makes the part will be cooled faster.
😎
wrong IC datasheet
Who knew SSDs were hotswap
Laptop plugged in and charging so it's probably not a good idea to install the drive. Tut tut...... I'm surprised more people in the comments haven't pointed this out although I've done the same before🤣🤣 but I shouldn't!!
Nobody noticed on nvme: WW II N/A
Hello🤝Good job it's time for pizza 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👋👋👋👋👋
9538 still is not 95338! Wrong datasheet again
why are there bots chatting in comments section?
I just wanted to ask the same question... P.S. I just reported all of them.
The bots are interested in electronics repairs too, man. This is like medical information for them.
@@moldo8811 its bad for channel. youtube will think that owner is boosting audience and will blacklist this content.
@@c1q3 yeah I know man. I report them too everytime I see bots.
Only one ram of memory, wow he loose performance because it is on single channel
Ik have my first laptop from HP 20 year's ago it still works but if it gets hot the GPU will fail.never opent it . Brought a new one had it for 15 year's so. Now I have bought a new HP pavilion my favorite HP laptop Ryzen 7 with extra ram 32gb I am happy. For how long I don't now I am very careful with my laptops.
I change the thermal paste on my laptops twice a year and the thermal pads every 18 months or so and give the fans a good clean. If you've never refreshed the thermal paste it's no wonder it fails when it gets hot! Clean the fans out as well as changing the thermal paste and you'll probably stop your overheating problems.
Very good job
I've been watching your videos from the beginning and I'm learning a lot from you. Thank you very much for teaching!!!! I wish you as many successful repairs as possible and joy in what you do. Much health to you and your loved ones.
