Hes gonna go through his bumps but like you said in like 2 years most definitely can see a competitor. It doesn't take long in the NFL to rebuild. I was alittle confused on that 3 year deal to thielen but not like it's all guaranteed but you do need vets on the team especially for a young QB. On the DJ Moore screen pass that he broke for the first TD, the left tackle blew up what a believe what was the trailing LB and the left guard got to the second level and wiped out a DB to let Moore get loose. On the TD check down, you can see a similar situation with the tackle getting a block and both the tackle AND guard trailing the play all the way downfield. • Yeah. Right. We'll see. Not having a lot of weapons wasn't his only problem last year. He looked more like a running back playing QB and was guilty of being a one-read QB a lot of the time. He had passing yardage totals on a regular basis that you don't usually see outside of box scores from 1980's middle of winter football games.

    • @@jennyanydots2389 And yet he was the most accurate deep ball passer in the NFL and accounted for 25 total TDs in 14 games. When he did throw, he was consistent and efficient. But again, he O Line was trash at pass protect, he had the worst receiving core in the league, and had to deal with having the worst defense in the league as well. Yet the Bears had the #1 rushing offense on the season, and the number 1 scoring offense for 8 straight weeks starting with the Pats game, which was all pretty much a solo display by Fields. And if you think he can't throw, then I know you never watched 1 Bears game from last season.

    • @@MFBloosh Also, the Bears coaching staff was CLEARLY playing tank ball last year. They Bears were in SO many games, but then the coaches would call a middle school offense for the entire 2nd half. They would call a run up the middle on 3rd and 12 in the 4th quarter, down by a score, or something dumb like that. There are actual football analysts out there, like the guys on the Bootleg Football Podcast, that can all attest to this and all agree that the Bears, and Fields are a scary, dangerous, team that spent last year building chemistry and working towards the draft . Poles seems legit and the guys are running through brick walls for coach Flus. It's casuals that think Fields is some chump playing with a blindfold on.

More like less than 150 per game when you take out the high game. They had the number 1 rushing offense because they had a QB who couldn't make NFL throws on the regular but could run whenever the 1st read or two wasn't open. They had to run... and it's not like it was working... how many games did they win? It's one thing to be optimistic and hopeful but it's another to be blinded to reality out of fandom. Fields has a lot of flaws with his passing game, if he has corrected some of them and seems to be on the way up this year it's looking good, if he's the same one or two read guy trying to rely on his athleticism... it's probably time to get ready to move on. No 5th year option.

The bears oline was top 5 in pocket protection for qbs, the only problem was that with half a second or 15 seconds those bus boys weren’t getting open. Mooney was great when he had arob to take all the pressure off him, but he’s not really a #1 receiver who can get open at will, especially when he’s being doubled every play because he was the only one who could catch the ball. The most exciting part for the offense though is that everyone knew the bears didn’t have an air game, stacked the box against them, and the bears were still able to put up the top run game. That part of their game shouldn’t be going away, so it’ll be fun to see them translate that to opening up the pass game with more playmakers.
