  • One thing that should be mentioned is Landeskog's absence from the league this year. Mackinnon needed to pull more weight and really step up as a leader if he wanted his team to have a shot at the cup, and he absolutely has. I'm interested to see how his stats and his play develop even further when (or if) Landeskog returns from his injury. Also, just imagine how overpowered the Avs would be if they had their captain playing too.

      @TranslatedAssumption@TranslatedAssumption4 ай бұрын
    • @@TranslatedAssumption no Geno is a power forward but nowhere near MacKinnon’s force while skating. Maybe Ovi is the only guy I can think of as a fair comparison. I believe a lot of Nate’s improvement is due to Sid working with him and challenging him to step up his dedication and work ethic all around. I dunno if this makes sense, Sid is the most efficient and effective skater. Always finds the right spots on the ice at the right time. I think a combo of sheer speed while being effective skating is Jack Hughes. That kid is unbelievable! Just his skating is worth the price of admission.

  • Should be interesting to see how the physical side of his game carries into the playoffs. Running over guys like Emberson is fun to watch, but dishing out additional offensive-side big hits takes its toll. Come post season, defenders will take that trade every time to separate MacKinnon from the puck and let the bodies collide, even if they end up getting the worst of it. Everyone shifts it up into another gear come the post season, especially when it comes to physical play. It's hard to even imagine MacKinnon has another gear, it almost feels like he's playing post season hockey while the rest of the league is keeping some in the tank for the rest of the schedule. If he does still have another gear, it could be a historic performance.

  • Amazing analysis, thanks for these types of videos! I've generally been a pretty passive spectator, so It's cool to watch games, understanding how so much of the players movements are intentional and not purely just reacting.

  • Last night's game nearly brought a tear to my eye. I have watched his OT winner like 10 times now. That shit is just unreal, and the comeback the Avs were able to mount is insane. If Georgiev can get back in form like he was last year, we stop making bad turn overs at the net, and we get Lehkonnen back, this team will be dangerous.
