Hey, I’m sorry to hear that you feel that way. That isn’t the intention of this clip. This was just Neil and Tom being silly with a signing request and isn’t to be taken seriously or to heart. Speaking more than one language is an incredible thing and from what I can see, you’re doing a fantastic job. The scariest part is where you put inflection and emphasis changes the entire meaning of the sentence. English is a cursed language and I'm impressed when native speakers get it right. Non-native speakers are godtier by comparison.

You’re right I think Savannah did! Neil creating a dramatic narrative to go along with the request had me wheezing. It just kept escalating too 😂
Yeah that's the funny part about language in casual use. We kinda know what was meant because we know what the most likely situation is, but it can still create funny thought experiments if you unpack it by what's grammarically correct haha. As long as someone is doing it in a funny way and not an "uhm, actually"

I think the correct reading - and least ambiguous way to write this, might be "Please write something flirty (but not weird for my boyfriend's mum to see)" Like it's the only one that makes sense to me
It's either way not a good way of expressing the intended sentiment. The way you put it and the way they thought it sounded way "but something that wouldn't be too weird for my boyfriend's mom to see". I wonder if tge comma would go here, then: "pls write something flirty, but not weird for my mom to see". If you put "flirty but not weird" without separation, that leaves "for my mom to see" as on it's own and that does indeed show intention of showing it to her 😅 But that's clearly a situation where it would be better to choose a less ambiguous way of saying that 😅
Or even saying "smth THAT IS flirty but not weird for my mom to see" would work better. But if you put a comma here: "smth that is flirty but not weird, for my mom to see" that would still be the meaning Neil saw in it, so precarious sentence either way hahaha
Hi! Its me. I’m Savannah. I realized the VOD was no longer up and had to go find if someone posted it. Thank god. I did mean if she sees it but I had to show her the whole thing when I saw her at Christmas and she thought it was hilarious.

Its saying not to put anything for their bf mom to see. Its basically a precaution thing. Mom probably around alot, and they don't want to get embarrassed if thier mom finds it. Like something like NSFW.
This was delightful! RE Savannah's grammar... it makes sense if you put the comma before "but." So the ask is to make it flirty... but don't make it weird for his mom to see it.

i think she meant that she wanted something flirty, but not too crazy, because her boyfriend's mum could mistake that as being flirty with another guy. she probably wanted to avoid a conversation about stuff like that; some guys' mothers are weird like this.

Neil never said anything about his Mom, so for his back story, what happened to his real elfin parent, bonds? Since he was still a young Elf. Elves do have parents, but after 200 years of torture under Cazador, he says everything that happened when he was alive is kinda blurry now, he knows he was a magistrate, but never talks about family. What's interesting, is thinking that they may still be alive during the tadpole incident, and where they may be. Someone must have buried Astarion when he died, and I don't think Cazador would have made him a tumbstone if he was the one who did. Maybe the city asked for him to be buried, since there are no loving words like 'our beloved son' or stuff, maybe it wasn't the family. Maybe they don't even know he's dead ? Since Astarion is an high elf, people theorize his family may be moon elves, with a very pale skin sometimes icy blue, hair either red, gold, silver or white, and blue or green eyes speckled with gold. Of all the elven races they re the most impulsive and hate being isolated, making them extremely extroverted and they get along uncommonly well with all other races. Also, they are nomad and live in tribes of a dozen families, never really settling down, and some become adventurers : "Those who did turn to an adventurer's lifestyle commonly embraced the musical path of a bard; the martial lifestyle of a fighter, ranger, or rogue; or studied to become wizards." They are very acceptant of all non-elven races, so much it was considered a weakness by other elven race who though themselves superior, but have an intense animosity towards violent races like the Orcs, Gnolls and Drows. So if Astarion's family are indeed Moon Elves, they may have parted ways when Astarion decided to settle in Baldur's Gate and become a magistrate ? Astarion becoming an adventurer has become a rogue, he's very impulsive and extoverted, and the appeal of violence and blood may be simply due to the vampire curse. Sounds legit. Also... Cazador and daddy have no right being the same sentence lmao

It's interesting how they had blue and green eyes, because I always pictured that he had true sky blue, or ocean blue green eyes, before Caz took him, and turned him into his tragic Spawn. So that is so cool to hear, as well as Moon Elves, but the fact that he would be from a Nomadic tribe, kinda leaves me questioning still. Because Astarion is a definite intellectual. His education wouldn't have been a Nomad's existence. A Nomad would have been free roam the Country side, his education would have been more natural. He never states, how he acquired such a well bred accent, or Education, having roamed as a child, with other elfin folk, Nomads not known for manners a Civilian would bestow. So did he leave that life to gain a education? Perhaps finding love in a, who also became his tutor, and instructed him like My Fair Boi, follow me and I shall show you a better life. Along comes Cazador and a Saue* at the Castle. Where Caz started his evil plans for complete conquest. That makes more sense, then him staying a Nomad, ending up, a Magistrate, without a middle, to Astarion's tale. Moon Elf, that makes sense, are they Worshippers of Salluene Astarion strangely has his Borne name Little Star still, being as young as he was, I think before Caz had paid the Gur, to attack the beautiful elf lad, when he was turned into his personal sex lure. To enact his manipulative and abusive trend in getting his Spawn to get the mad Vampiric Lord, what he demanded of him. What better lure then a well educated pretty Charming puppet, for him to control and again that did not take, as Cazadore, had expected, the boi, was always a problem, because the strength in Astarion, fought the Control off. Fu** off... He gained his freedom to fight Caz, enough to say No, to his Master's frightful, and tangled strings. Till he was recaptured, sealed within a Tomb for a year of horrible silence. As torment for disobedience, by saving the beautiful boi, he was meant to seduce, and bring back to Caz. But something strange happened. Starri fell deeply in love with the lad, he even remembered his name Sebastian. *Like a lyric on your tongue.* To be truthful tho, everything seems to be like a lyric, on a happy Astarion's tongue. *Cheeky pup* Sadly, deeply disturbing, amount of mind control, Astarion under went, to break him. As well as flaying, flesh to bone, skin is literally scraped from the body, the exposure, can cause The body, to illness, to rott. But Astarion is not scarred, other then his back... Vampiric features would not keep flayed or any damages to the flesh, Astarion would say more then *Don't touch me!* He wouldn't be able to think, see straight enough to function, as well as he has. His destroyed mind would appear unreachable, Completely Broken. But upon being free, from the Tad poles influence, in the end of the story, wether he was completely a good intentional creature, to begin with, or not, after Spawn or after Ascended Astarion. He is just too layered, a Character and lives split from fate's, the godd's interference. And he could have gone so many different ways. Perhaps dream of something better then Magistrate. I can see Bardic arts, as well as the Rogue he became. Not the Posh Magistrate, he claimed, to be. Also Rogue's fantastic with deception, Charm, and undecided lover. Not Pomastious, snooty, idealistic High Societies know'n Darling. Rogue is a Rebellious alert, thief, of hearts, and Charmingly intent, free thinker. Magistrate is a excepted higher societal social climbing, stuck up twit. Astarion seems capable enough to fool people he is a man of higher breeding, but then Rogue, Would not make sense. Unless he gained some education from somewhere, and time, as a Rogue, I can see him going covert, and pretending to be trained to be a Magistrate for just one more trick, in his Rosespere' bag. Or the Scarlett Pimpernel. A amazing example of a Charming Rogue, and thieve of hearts. Harlequinn, command performer. And flippant of all of it, Suaveness, and grace, of a Sophisticated Tom Catty. As Neil had told others before. If so Magistrate seems like a heavy handed position, for a tricky Rogue, and alert, he would never have fell to the Nomad Gur, whom he makes fun of?¿ Okay that takes... It's his performance after all. But still he was covering as a Magistrate for some covert op, because Starri knows the under belly of the Crime ring, in Baldurs gate. That makes sense. And I have just agreed, He is too good to be... Even in Baldurs gate way before Gortash, and the Iron watch. When the Ball Spawn, Syravok was free to get in with the Fist, and Jerriah, and Minsc was fighting together, before he was turned into the Stoned Lord. So then why doesn't our favorite Rogue say anything about that? Okay, so his memory is also been hindered with, to keep his mind on, only what Caz wanted him to think. And he, even tho he was a obedient Spawn, of the Patriarchy of the Royal Vampry Family. Yet was able to break from Caz's spell, enough to assume he had saved the sweet man he fell in genuine love, yet left him, to just fend off Cazadore and his other Spawn puppets¿? Is completely Sus... If Starri was free from Caz at the moment he could feel love, and passion, for the young man, why wasn't he able to make sure Sebastian was safe, and saved? It's just a easy thing to accept Starri, not having a feeling to protect another, but he truly felt something special for Sebastian. Because he never let's the mask slipp, till he comes across his worst night mare, locked up for years, in Caz's cage. *Astarion clear minded, just surprised remembers him.* Sebastian mindless Spawn, remembered him. Even the way he tells us how Starri had seduced him in the Elf Song, Tavern, and made his name sound as if it was a song in his heart. Under Caz's Master puppeteering, and His most beautiful Spawn slave, out on the prowl, and what caz ual socializing. Under severe mind manipulation, like a sleeper agent, or coherent Operative, is Larain saying, rules we don't follow no stinkin rules, Fu** the rules. He was a Rogue, now Magistrate. No reason just is, and Starri doesn't have to explain further, but it just seems so last minute, his back story, unlike Shadow's, Wyl, even Halsin, who isn't even, with our party till later. And Astarion was so hurt by Caz because he made him think he had a family. Caz was to Starri , his very abusive Father figure. Whether you believe it doesn't matter. The Character said it. How could that be misread? Daddy issues, it's too clear, how the Spawn saw the Vampire Lord, and how Spawn Starri wants to have the other Spawn's be his family, in the end... And it only makes sense. For him to have only grown with time. If he's not turned into a Souless Vampire Ascendant, and can still feel for others, including himself. His mind his own, the sun sadly, a past whim. But definitely Daddy of the Shadows. And their under world kingdom. ✨🧛🏼✨ Okay went on much longer then I ever wanted to over this topic. Also, I think the roguish skills truly came with the Cazador package, but again he was 37 when he was turned, so he could have very well been a rogue before magistrate indeed ? I agree that the Nomad tribe doesn't add up to how he acts, but it i no uncommon for Elves to make their way into the world to find their place, Halsin did it (and ended up sex slave in Menzobarranzan), So Astarion getting mixed up in politics and catching the eyes of the wrong people at 37, well it wouldn't be strange. Ah yeah, I never said astarion didn't have daddy issues, I'm just feeling unwell about hearing Daddy and Cazador together. It's a physically repulsive thought, but yes, Cazador was the abusive father figure for his spawns, he love to call them kids and son. Urgh, disgusting

I won't say the D word or iss, anymore but definitely, sensitive topics. And no Caz a gore, is well a very unwanted topic, tho, none the less important because Starri is so disturbed by the past, it's really hard not to. Seriously tho, Neil said he would like to be in a living version of Astarion's story. And I really hope it's a possibility for him. He could pull it off, I know he could. I just worry how much flack he would receive for his own personal portrayal of a Character he has lovingly helped thru all roads, of his journey good and bad... The back story would be something to see. But what in the HellZ would the future, follow for the beloved Character? It has to be different then the game...
