Hi all :) welcome back to another video, today I show you around my lovely little 1 bed flat in south west London. Hope you enjoy! xxx
Hi Jess, it’s a lovely apartment, very homely. It’s so refreshing to find a youtuber who shows realistic life as well :)
Ahh that’s so kind, I’m so glad you are enjoying my videos and taking the time to leave me such a lovely comment! So glad to have you watching xx
The little vignette next to the kitchen sink is perfect!! The green tile, the striped orange vase with the tulips, the lamp! All of it!
Thank you so much that’s really kind, I love our little home! Feel so lucky to live here ☺️
Adore this home tour and your flat. Feels like a home and highly relatable as it feels like a place you can truly exist in
Thank YOU for this honest flat tour! How lovely!
Thank you for the lovely comment ❤️
Hi Jess! Have just recently started watching your videos! Hello from my 1 bedroom in Amsterdam. So glad to find so many similarities, including the weather and the steep rent...😅, but also really like the aesthetics of your place! 💜 Glad to follow you on this journey ! 😊
Ahh I am obsessed with Amsterdam it’s one place I would love to live for a year or two it’s the most beautiful city, I quite often visit for a weekend and to see my friend who loves there. I have heard about the weather and rent, its so tough to save when often people are paying half their monthly income on renting! Thank you for the lovely comment and for watching I’m so glad you are enjoying ❤️
Such a lovely apartment with beautiful garden! The old window in a bedroom looks like a painting.
Thank you so much we are so lucky to live here!
Such a lovely home. The garden is such a bonus.
Thank you so much we love it we feel really lucky to live here ☺️
Such a beautiful apartment!!! Great size compared to a lot of the NYC ones I see on you tube and the garden is a beautiful bonus ♥️ makes it feel like you're not in an apartment. A big hi from Australia 🤗 x
Thank you we really love living here, it’s the first rented apartment I’ve felt is like a real home. I think it’s the high ceilings and entryway/hallway that give a feeling of more space. We feel lucky to live here! Thanks for leaving a lovely comment and Hi all the way to Auz ☺️xx
Happy Weekend Jess! What a lovely way to catch up with your video and sipping on some coffee as the sun greets me outta my window. Thanks for a no BS real house tour video, I would love to see some renting content on it! and also a request to show how you do your loose wavy hair!! I love them🥰
Thank you so much! Really glad you enjoyed the video it’s tricky to know what people like to watch these days so really helpful that you mention the renting stuff, ill definitely try and make some videos on that as I LOVE interiors but can be so difficult whilst renting! And will of course show you how I get the waves in my hair as my hair is poker straight naturally 😅 xxx
Lovely flat. Is it a shared garden? If it isn’t, it’s incredible. But really beautiful anyway.
such a cozy flat! love this window in particular how it peeks into nature 2:37 🥺
Thank you so much lovely ❤️☺️ we feel so lucky to live here
I love your home....esp. the countertoos and green backsplash!!!
Thank you lovely, we are just renting but we feel so lucky to live in a nice apartment like this ❤️
Lovely cozy space and how awesome is that garden.
The garden is the best bit I’m obsessed! Can’t wait for summer to enjoy it properly again! x
It's a charming home, and a very honest video. I dislike those homes that look pristine with everything in its place. They look so fake, while yours is extremely authentic. Thanks for sharing your home with us,
Thank you so much ☺️ I totally agree about the pristine homes it can be quite bland!
Beautiful Home ! And thank you for the realistic vibe ! Itz the BEST ! Cheers from across the pond in Buffalo, New York. 1st timeviewer / new subscriber here ! My dear late Mom was born & raised in London ! I fancy living there someday ! xo Liz
Thanks so much that means a lot Liz, so glad you’re enjoying my videos! Ahh New York I’ve never been to Buffalo would love to explore more of the US at some point ❤️ aw I love that your mum was from here and you have that connection to London. Xx
Lovely flat 😍 I am loving all your videos and how honest and straightforward you are. It gives me flatmate vibes 😂
That’s so nice to hear I’m so happy you are enjoying the videos. Haha love that, I’m glad my personality is coming across! xx
I would put a cozy painting on top of the bed :)
Aw I would love to, unfortunately we can put anything with nails in the walls! And I was a little scared to use common strips above the bed where it might fall on us 😅
Your flat is so lovely! Thanks for showing a ‘real’ flat tour :)
Thank you so much!
Lovely cosy flat ! ❤
Thank you so much!
This has just popped up on my feed Lovely flat and i shall now be following Can see myself with a book and glass of wine there ❤
Thank you lovely! So glad you like it we feel really lucky to live here ❤️
Thank you! As someone who also rents a 1 bedroom, I love seeing how people style in a realistic way. I might try a candle window ledge like you have.. :) Could you link the gingham pillowcases? Sending good vibes from richmond, va!
Ahh me too, love to see inside people's homes so glad you enjoyed the video. Richmond is gorgeous would love to live around there! Link to pillowcases : www.etsy.com/uk/listing/227651871/king-queen-or-square-linen-pillowcase?ref=yr_purchases
Such a homey & lovely apartment 😍 love how you styled it! what areas are best to live in for first time london newbies?
Thank you so much we feel really lucky to live here! London has so many amazing little neighbourhoods but I would say some of my favourite are North : Islington/ Angel South : Balham and peckham and potentially Clapham (North)East : Hackney and Dalston
I lived in west London & was paying £2,000 for a very small two bed flat, 2nd bedroom was seriously small, Is that all your garden it looked beautiful that must be gorgeous in the summer 🌞
I can imagine to be honest! West London is gorgeous but yeah everything is so expensive and competitive just even to get a viewing in time, the garden is shared but its a really quiet block so we don't really see any neighbours! Thanks for leaving such a lovely comment xx
Aww . . beautiful
Can we see more of the garden? It looks amazing.
Definitely in summer will show more! Getting the grass cut today woo!
Your apartment is gorgeous!
Thank you so much ☺️
Your home is beautiful ❤
Thank you lovely we feel really lucky to live here! ❤️
No doubt the best part is the garden
The garden is so nice especially in summer we are really lucky!
Wow, our first place was a portakabin 😮
1st time viewer & new subscriber here ! Hello from across the pond in Buffalo, New York - near Niagara Falls, & one of the lucky sites of the recent Total Eclipse of the Sun ! My dear late Mom was born & raised in London. ( WW2 Gen !) . Lovely to see your gorgeous Home here; & I personally prefer a realistic, so - called “rambling” style of video like this ! Not rambling a ‘tall tho !! ( see my British vernacular for “at all”? 😍 ). Just nice & friendly & conversational. Perfect ! Cheerio ! ( haha ! Old school). Liz PS … I’m also a fan of 30 - something NYC vlogger here on yt : Chelsea Callahan. Also super realistic ! Ditto Toronto Canada’s Christina Michas : maybe you 3 could do a collab ! xo
Such a lovely comment thank you! Ahh the solar eclipse I feel like that was such a crazy thing to have happened! So interesting to read about and watch videos of! Aww I love that you have a connection to London ❤️thanks for the recommendations I’ll give them a go! Xx
I love London and I love your channel!
Thank you so much that's really kind, im so glad you're enjoying!
Well, the flat is lovely, but the garden is the icing on the cake it's gorgeous.😊
Thank you so much we are really happy here! ☺️
This is a really lovely flat, London is so expensive tho! But I suppose with two people what you're paying is actually quite alright.
Yeah definitely for the two of us we are really lucky with the space and room sizes etc!
Its such a small apartment for the price, wow is all i can say, here in Canada apartments are expensive too, but my goodness so much money.
I agree, London is a very expensive city, we also live in a really nice part which backs right onto the park, has access to the tube and lots of lovely cafes and restaurants nearby so we are very lucky!
@@jessicamoonharris Sounds heavenly. I live in London too but Ontario, Canada. lol
The garden is so beautiful. Which area is this flat ? Do you have tube/train directly here ? Seems that you mentioned commuting by bus
It’s in Balham, we do have the tube but it’s around a 12 minute walk to the tube station so in bad weather we get the bus 🚌 ha! Thanks lovely 🍃 xx
Omg this place is so beautiful! Is the garden just yours or is it shared with other flats?
Thank you, we love it here! It’s shared with other flats but us and the neighbour beside us are the only ones with direct access so we hardly see anyone!
4:16 13.5*c? Bit chilly! I thought I was frugal keeping my thermostat to 15degrees and wearing jumpers/using blankets around the house. Our boiler man told us not to let the indoor temp drop below 15* generally as if it’s prolonged, that’s when you start to see structural issues like pipes getting damaged and damp and mould etc. but I digress! Cost of living makes it harder and harder to keep the heating on for lots of people. My rent is 1.7k for a 3 bed house in similar area but we’ve been here since 2007 with a fantastic landlord who treats us like family, and behaves more like a grandad to our two boys, hence I can afford to have my heating a little higher. He’s never put the rent up in all that time. When we moved in, with just our eldest as a baby, he told us ‘if you look after the house, we’ll look after you’ and he’s been true to his word. All of which I’m immensely great full for.
Yes! Our house is very old and has a few issues with damp we do keep the heating on most of the time to be honest but it’s just such a summer sort of flat when we can have the patio doors open and let the air in! Wow that’s a really good deal for a 3 bed and I bet having a great landlord like that gives such a sense of ease around it all! Hope you are enjoying the long weekend ❤️
1 Lb = 1.72 Canadian dollars!
It is a lovely flat...but 2k is crazy... but also reality for many people sadly.
Ouch so expensive
Beautiful home. What is the size of your bed if you don’t mind?
Thank you so much ❤️ it’s just a standard sized double! We want a bigger one tbh
So gorgeous 🤍
Bleach down back and front of ur windows kill bacteria on them windows need replacement you need to contact your local council to let ur landlord know check what band council tax ur on also. Love ur plant
Thanks will definitely use the bleach method to get rid of some! Xx
Where is your fridge? Kitchen storage is tight.
It’s a half fridge unfortunately but it works for us xx
Such a lovely flat very homely 🤗🙏🫶🏴
Thanks so much we feel very lucky to live here ❤️ wales is beautiful btw 🏴
So how much would the rent living in a house in east London?
East is a little more expensive now I think for a flat of similar spec maybe £1.5k, - £2k. There are much cheaper places to rent too but it would likely be a compromise between location and quality BUT its a really cool part of London, a bit more edgy and has lots of cool bars!
A little Messi 😂
Can only dream of having that sort of money 🤣
£2k rent is that with bills included?
no sadly not xxx
Most likely, your rent is helping the owner pay off the mortage of the house you are living in
Yeah I think that’s likely! I guess that’s the reality of renting in most big cities
Sorry but if I was renting and spending £2,000 a month. I would feel like it was money down the drain that could go towards a property. Also it doesn't belong to you so you can't decorate it or change anything.
So true, I do agree it’s a lot of money, it’s split between 2 of us and unfortunately it’s the only way we can currently afford to live in this city that’s helping us get on a bit in our careers and live close enough to work and friends to do that! Our rent is very reasonable for the city to be honest we have a great location and nice flat considering the price, London is a really expensive place to live! Thanks for your comment interesting to hear different perspectives! Xx o
You can decorate it, even change it, if you get the owner’s approval. Most of then are happy if you do it without them paying. If you move, you take the furniture with you. I rent and I bought a lot of furniture like mirrors, nightstands and other things.
Are you for real joking?!! This is NOT a flat tour but more of a bed tour!! Who in their right mind shows their bed, cushions and plants for an eternity instead of the actual freaking flat and its layout?!!!!! THIS IS THE WORST FLAT TOUR VIDEO I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!!
Hope you find peace from hate you feel you need to spread
Oh my wow… you know you didn’t have to watch the whole thing right? You have options here 😂😂😂 Lovely video! I love getting a peek into people’s homes. The flat is gorgeous and you seem very happy there 😊
@@Daniela-ku5lo I didn’t watch the whole thing! I was fast forwarding it, hoping you would actually start showing your flat but you didn’t so I stopped watching!!!
@@Piggylady193 it’s not hate, it’s critique.
Terribly furnished. If it was decorated with beautiful things it would be a great apartment.
How rude. It is a lovely little flat and it looks cosy and homely.
@@lauram519 I agree. It looks lovely!
Bitter
sounds like sandramalone is a tad envious.
😂😂
Love this ❤️ such a lovely space! We live just near St Albans so similar prices. It is what it is 🫠 (I tell myself every day haha)
Thank you that’s really kind we feel very lucky to live here! God I know so expensive feels like it’s so unattainable at this point :/
@@jessicamoonharrismy niece is renting an apartment for €1,900 in Dublin. She has no garden and the largest bedroom is basically a converted attic with no door! Your apartment is gorgeous in comparison.
