  • They could have paid LESS going to an actual licensed THERAPIST and gotten better results. It's not about assertiveness or imposing your will on someone else, anyone with a proper weapon can impose their will on anyone. What this is about is boundaries, how to know what your boundaries are, how to identify other's boundaries, and how to navigate them; as well as earning the respect that allows someone to follow along with you and your request. There is an old quote that I learned while in ROTC, it stays with me to this day: "You do not lead by hitting people over the head, that’s assault, not leadership." - Dwight D Eisenhower.

I’m a labor union leader elected by other men to lead or organization and a new hire wanted to be represented by the union while not paying his dues and saying he’s “right to work” and it confuses me why an alpha of his caliber wanted our help. Saying you’re an alpha has the same value as taking an online IQ test and not shutting up about their genius

He was even talking about offing himself before, he pushed away most of his friends including me. (which is scary if you think about it, these scammers make the same steps to isolate these men as cults do to their members, while stripping away their self worth, while promising unattainable dreams. he didn't go to a camp like this he couldn't afford it, but he got some new "friends" online). Thankfully after some of his older and closer friends convinced him to spend a few weeks on a trip, where they took a few other people, he met this guy and I guess something finally snapped in him, for the better, and dropped his weird forced "alpha wolf" persona. I'm sure not all of these desperate alpha-wannabes are just gay subs in the closet, but some of them definitely are, overcompensating because they are scared of their own wants and how others will perceive them for it.

If you just get a person to scream and thrash and completely overload emotionally, they will feel much better afterwards, but that is just an illusion brought upon by the relief of no longer screaming your head off. It's not actually any kind of personal development it just feels good to vent completely. Literally any sport (But I'd recommend full body martial arts like Kung-Fu or TaeKwonDo, but even stuff like Yoga, Tai chi or such things can do), and you'd pay much much less. What benefits does it have over this 'bootcamp'? As someone who did TKD, I can't speak for all the sports or everyone, but : - Weekly trainings help to improve not only your mental but also physical health - You're part of a group (your club), that also boosts your mental health - More chances to meet people, also boosts your mental health - You become more confident in yourself and your body - You will be taught discipline and will likely be more motivated to do the little things in life thanks to that - Even if you buy all the necessary and extra equipment, it won't be nowhere as expensive as this 'bootcamp' - Winning a competition will massively boost your self-esteem and how you feel about yourself I think most people already know this, but seriously, people tend to 'know' but instead sit at home and waste their life away. Sitting behind a computer is fun but does nothing for you. When GTA 6 comes out, we can all take the time off and play the sh*t out of it, but until then, let's improve our body and mental health :))

  • The sad part is that you could pay less to get into therapy where it will teach you to find your self worth, which can lead to an emotional breakthrough where you cry out all the emotions you bottled in. It can bring out the positive traits you already have and don't see because you're so insecure with yourself. There's so much stigma around using therapy to give yourself a little help that people would rather pay to be insulted and embarrassed into becoming a "man" than listen to people who went through years of schooling in order to help you. Most therapists are overworked and don't make good money at all unless they own their own private practice, yet they are treated like the ones who don't care. Therapy isn't just for trauma ridden broken people, sometimes you just need a little guidance to step outside of your own toxic ways of thinking to notice you're a lot greater than you think you are.

  • My parents once paid for me to go to one of those weekend self-improvement conferences (not specifically for men, but one of those “we’ll fix your life in 3 days” kinda experiences). I remember having that RUSH of emotion after things felt like they were really moving forward, and left feeling like I’d unlocked the ability to be more assertive and confident and all that and honestly it lasted maybe a month or so before I went back down to baseline. My parents too, honestly. Those things may bring a bit of value in some small ways, but nothing that therapy over a period of time won’t achieve for you if you’re willing to put in the work. Any big results really need an actual support system over time but even those results backslide somewhat once you disconnect from the group. It’s just sad because camps like this aren’t new, really, but they’ve found a new market. Truly, a men’s support group in your local community would be more beneficial than this $3500 weekend scam.
