  • Im a bit late to this video, but after doing some research on Andrey, he's the strongest guy I've ever seen. Although he holds no "outright" records etc. He is world class in virtually any lifting/strength sport. The guy is 120kg body weight and can do 1 arm pull ups, +160kg pull ups, 270kg bench presses, and look like a bodybuilder at the same time. On top of that, the guy has limited resources available given his financial position in a Russian village. If Andrey had as much support as Larry, I honestly believe he would be significantly stronger than him; bear in mind Andrey is only like 23 years old as well, Larry is like 28 now, therefore we are yet to see a fraction of Andrey's prime. This is no disrespect at all to Larry; the guy is an absolute 1 in 100 million monster, but theres something about Andrey that makes him so special in the lifting scene. Perhaps its his versatility in all sports, but I really hope someone takes him to the west and gets his name out there.

    @donegal7@donegal7 Жыл бұрын
    • A lot of people (me included) would love to see Andrey travelling to the West and featuring in Larry's videos. This is unlikely, however, as he lives and works in a closed town Sarov, one the Russian nuclear research centers. This means essentially that even as a Russian you cannot go visit him. Hence, most of the videos with other people are actually made in neighbouring towns and villages (or Moscow), at least 50-100 km from where he lives. On top of that, Andrey probably has some sort of security clearance as he works at a nuclear research facility (as a locksmith but still).

      @PeterListov@PeterListov10 ай бұрын
    • It’s unlikely that anyone will be able to take it to the west. Even in Russia they cannot drag him out of his village. He refuses to sign contracts, refuses to go to famous bloggers in larger cities. Many bloggers in the Russian media space hate him for his lack of business sense, unwillingness to leave his village and realize his potential

      @ruslan_nurgaleev@ruslan_nurgaleevАй бұрын
    • @@ruslan_nurgaleev i feel like thats a bit of an arbitrary reason to hate someone though. I think its actually a testament/lesson in humility. Andrey is not the first freakshow out there who doesn't care about records and just wants to have fun; if hes documented, think of all the others like him who are undocumented and don't want the social media life. lesson is we should always stay humble, theres always a guy out there whos crazier.

Ive seen hanging which is incredible grip endurance strength but its still resting at the bottom of the rep. The record for that is ridiculous over 600, not seen the vid for that though but seen a guy do over 100, he was hanging from the bar for 10 mins! which is incredible grip strength but he's not doing them continous.

Also, for strength it the 10+ reps exercises are a weak metric. Andrey's max chin up is 160+ kg added weight. Larry would not be in the same league here.
