‘Mask King’ is a competition between 8 celebrities compeletely hidden from mask while they sing. The program focuses on the stars singing abilities and guesses whose faces are hidden behind a mask.

    • Deby Punk In 2007, Leeteuk, Shindong, Eunhyuk and Kyuhyun got into a car accident. Shindong and Eunhyuk had minor injueries and Leeteuk had to get more than 150 stitches on his back and head. Kyuhyun was severely injured because he flew out of the car when it flipped over. He had 6 broken ribs and they were piercing his lungs. He was in a coma. The doctor told his family that he was going to die if they do not drill a hole in his throat and even if they did he only had 20% chance of surviving. But his dad refused to let them do it to protect Kyuhyun's dream/voice. He said, "he is a child who has dreams of songs. If you drill his throat, you are taking all that he has." The doctor told his dad he was crazy at first but then they managed to find a doctor who was able to help Kyuhyun and did another from of surgery. They succeeded and Kyuhyun was able to stand on stage again after 5 months. He wasn't fully recovered at that time, he couldn't dance, so he only came on stage during his part and then went back. The members took good care of him though

    • +Deby Punk in 2007, some of the suju members got into a car accident. Kyuhyun was hurt the most since he was thrown out the window. his ribs punctured his lungs and he was unconscious for 4 days. The doctor told his parents that he was most likely going to die and they wanted to do an operation through his throat but his dad insisted a different way since he was a singer. Like a miracle a doctor from China (I think) was there and was able to find a different way and he recovered after a couple of months.

  • 야생화 다른가수들은 이느낌을 못내고 자꾸 박효신 생각나게하던데.. 규현은 박효신 싹 지우고 본인노래인듯이 만들어버림. 난 이 무대 보고 규현입덕 했음. 입이 다물어지지가 않더라ㅎㅎㅎㅎ 앞부분은 그냥 감미롭다 정도였는데 고음 쫙쫙 성량 터트릴때 기 빨리고 깜짝놀라서.. 영혼 나가는거 같아서 자동입덕 됨.

  • And to remember that Kyuhyun almost lost is voice years ago! I still can't believe he's standing on stage again after that accident. I'm so proud of his father, his members, and the people who supported him and help him revive from that tragedy. So proud of this man right here!

    • Suju's discography is often considered a joke, but that's more so b/c of the title tracks -_- That's how internationl fans became prejudiced towards Suju. The side tracks are great though. But Kyuhyun definitely isn't underrated as a vocalist, especially after his solo debut last year. Back then in 2008, a poll was made about which group members could do well solo- Kyuhyun one of the candidates. If anyone is underrated, that's Ryeowook. Yesung is also dope, lol. Basically, the entire vocal line KRY is the strongest one out there right now in Kpop. The rest of Super Junior... They sound nice, but they need to work on their vocal techniques, especially the lead vocals.

  • the differences when i listen to hyoshin's and kyuhyun's . hyoshin ; my heart tugs from the moment he sings the song. the emotions hit you in the face right away. kyuhyun ; fall into a state of comfort becaust of his voice, when the climax comes, weeps sliently. both are g r e a t.

    • Same, i started almost 10 years ago (i was a high school student) stanning TVXQ and Suju (and i will always do so), after that i supported other groups too, like Big bang, JYJ, B1a4... but i never felt again like with those two till BTS was born (i was in college). Now, as a graduated adult, i have my big 3 :) I´m close to include Winner there, but i will be hard to get haha, no other is at the same level as 5 memebrs TVXQ, 15 members Super Junior and 7 members BTS.

  • No need to compare him to the original singer and say Park Hyo Shin is better. Kyuhyun already has proved to the K-pop industry that he is an amazing-beyond-words singer. They both have their own styles and techniques, so let there be no comparing for the sake of the artists.. and fans too.

  • Coming here is all but a bad idea right now. Since Super Junior are facing some circumstances with regards to the group, this just makes me so emotional.   • I love the way he sustains his notes. It's like a complete vibrato. Like a complete wave line. Coz I noticed that most idols tend to just reach the note with the a vibratory but then can't sustain so it becomes kinda like a straight line and they ran out of breath. I can't describe it well but all I know is that kyuhyun's sustained notes are not annoying.

I think Kyuhyun no doubt does an excellent job by lowering two keys and adds some personal interpretation to the music.

  • To be honest, I'm glad Kyuhyun lost. We all know that he's a legendary ballad singer, and one of the best in the Kpop industry. He didn't even have time to be here because of all his activities, and yet he took the time to come here to show everyone that Super Junior is not just a "variety" group (even though been good at variety takes real skill and is one of the things that SJ truly is the best at), and that they also have a million other musical talents that are overlooked and downplayed by others, especially SM and the media. Purposely losing, so that he gets to showcase his talent with his mask off, and so that all the people present could put a face and a name to that beautiful voice and truly regret that they didn't vote for him as he sings, was an extremely smart move, and I'm really proud of Kyuhyun for it. Kyuhyun, you may not have won, but you are definitely the best in ELF's hearts, and now, all of them can see that you're not considered the best for no reason either. Thank you for doing this and bringing awareness to Super Junior's relatively undiscovered talents. We admire, and are really proud of you. We love you, Cho Kyuhyun; never stop singing.

    • +Andreggvil Jammer I don't think he purposely lost, since he sang very well as he usually/always does. It's just that this program does not actually choose the better singer. KyuHyun, Ailee, Wendy, Ryeowook, Jongdae and others also lost when they shouldn't have. And with this song in particular he just showed how bad the judging of this program is.

    • Milagros Roller Can't really tell if he did or didn't purposely lose, but I have a feeling he deliberately chose a song that doesn't showcase as much of his abilities so he could take the mask off and sing Wildflower. I'm not saying he purposely lost in the way that he sang in a way that's not up to his usual standard; he sings as well as he usually does, I agree, but it's the song choice. Though admittedly I don't know the program well enough to tell if it's because of Kyuhyun's conscious decision making or if it's becaue bad judging as you said.

  • 클라이막스에서 뒤로 탭해봐요 한숨에 부른 박효신이 미친거지 1초도 안되서 숨쉬고 부르는거 티 안나게 커버한 규현도 진짜 대단하다... 무엇보다 어떤 고음에서도 한계가 없어 보이는 음색 진짜 노래 잘한다

  • Kyuhyun being able to sing and us not only ELF but eveyone even the ones outside our fandom... listening to his sweet voice it's a blessing, Kyuhyun it's a miracle, and that's a truth, after that horrible accident, he made it, and he was and still is able to do what he loves and by that he's gifting us with that beautiful voice of his, this is why, listening to Kyu it's a blessing, because it comes from a miracle, I will never in my life regret being his fan

  • 원키 낮춰 불렀다고 까는 인간들아 니들 논리대로면 그럼 성악에서 베이스는 음치냐? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 하물며 보컬쌤들도 높다고 다 잘하는 건 아니다 니 음역대를 찾아라 이러는데 일반인들이 난리치고 있네. 그리고 당연히 몇년 선배에 정통 발라더인 박효신한테는 밀릴 수 밖에 없겠지. 근데 그걸 굳이 여기서 내보인다는건 니네 수준이 그정도 밖에 안 된다는 거임. 너네랑 또래지만 생계 걱정없이 돈잘벌고 노래까지 잘 부르니 ㅂㄷㅂㄷ하는 건 이해하는데 적당히 하자. 너네가 이렇게 악감정에 시간낭비하며 댓쓰는 동안에도 쟤는 누워서 통장에 돈 들어오는 거 구경하고 있을 거다
