  • Vince Williams Jr and GG Jackson have completely changed this season for the Grizzlies This roster is going to look completely different next season

    • I love expanded roster spots for two-way guys and the G League. The Grizzlies have multiple guys they can look at over the past few seasons and say that any money they lose running the team in Southaven is worth it in the long run. Konchar, Aldama, Tillman, GG Jackson, Vince Williams, etc have all contributed to many wins over the past few seasons from the minutes they got in the G League instead of wasting away on the bench.

    • Can't wait for it. It still pains me that we may never get to see Luke come off of a Steven Adams screen. If Luke could just get find better ways to get open like a step back or something, he'd be good enough to not get traded because he's expensive 😢

  • I remember the first game where vince williams got a bunch of minutes. It was the celtics game where they lost by 2. Santi was on fire for most of the game until the fourth, but vince was gaurding jaylen brown throughout the game and jaylen had a dud game. Vince also shot the ball well. I think he was 2/3 or 2/4 on threes.

  • I was really high on GG in the draft but it’s very disingenuous to say that it’s just reclassifying that tanked his stock. GG really struggled with tunnel-vision and poor IQ, some really bad shot selection, plays smaller than his size, and he’s not the defender you describe him as at all (tho he does have the physical gifts to be decent on that end). His upside is really high tho, and I agree that in 2024 he would go lottery.

    • They're both two-way prospects with really intriguing upside. Vince is a much better passer and GG is so young it feels like the sky is the limit with his shot creation and athleticism. The Grizzlies gave them both 4 year 8 million deals, and I am damn near certain at least one of those contracts is going to look like a incredible steal very soon.

His talent never dipped from being a number 1 player in all of high school. Whoever is responsible for him falling that far in the draft should be investigated.

  • GG Jackson fell because of what scouts had to say about him. He was on a terrible team and was asked to be the prime time scorer at 17 going on 18 years old. So they assumed his play was his habits even though it was dictated by the circumstances. So much for scouting - I was begging for the grizzlies to draft this guy, I'm just surprised he fell to 45 because he was rated a first round talent.
