Top Fuel Motorcycle drag racing legend Larry "Spiderman" McBride has broken a world record once again, this time a speed record in the NHRA going 4.82 at a staggering 243 mph in just 1,000 feet. We take you to the NHRA Carolina Nationals from ZMax Dragway where even John Force is fully impressed with what the world's fastest Top Fuel Bikes can do!

Did you see Larry do a balls adjustment right before the pass? It takes a lot of balls to do that, for sure! 👊😎
Balls the size of beach balls on that seat? You would have to adjust them, too.
Yeah, I expect you did you ball watcher
" Check: I'm leaving the line with two, hope they're still there at the finish!"
Can’t believe John just blew him off like that
Exactly what I came to say. Gotta make sure the boys are comfy! 😂
Couldn’t happen to a better man. Congratulations team McBride.
What about Jesus?
I remember in 1999 on the NHRA tour I watched Larry macbride from the top end of the quarter mile you would see the smoke come out of the pipes and about three seconds 3 seconds later you hear the sound. That's the only place I've ever seen top fuel motorcycle I've never had the chance to sit in the stands and watch as a spectator. I don't remember any venue where they actually made two full passes at the same time during the season when they were asked to race at the tracks with the main show. Edit::; now that I see for standing there during that season at heartland Park was one of the venues where McBride made a full pass single that same night at about midnight I was in the upper pitch on a pit bike and I had a beer in one hand and all of a sudden a guy comes walking out it's pitch-black my little Honda elite 250 I brought it down to a. Just in time front tire was barking"whew partner you almost got me"shut a black leather jacket and John Force he signed my Big sky electric ⚡ team shirt. It was a little past midnight. In the upper pro pits. Force took all of us stalkers out to Piggly wiggly the next day
Larry, it was just a matter of time! That 5:01 yesterday was great also, but a world record is a World Record!
OMG! I used to race MC and as a 71 yr old woman, I STILL want to race. This video makes my heart pound for 5 mn after seeing it! Let me at that machine just once!!
I used to drag race in the 80/90's and at 62 now my heart wasn't pounding. See a doctor for a check-up.
I would suggest having an AED nearby while watching youtube.
No clue why YT brought me here but that was something else. Seeing the acceleration from that angle was incredible. I can't imagine the forces on his body.
About 2.3 g acceleration on average.
distance = 1/2 times acceleration times time squared d = 1/2at^2 solving for a when d = 1000 ft and t = 4.829 seconds gives you 2.67 average accelertion over those whole time interval. So a little bit more than 2.3g Still.... wow. If Larry weighs 190 lbs that would make him feel like 507 lbs!@@julesdomes6064
Jack that's balls to the wall fast, makes me pucker and I've run dragbikes. Congratulations Larry and the whole McBride racing team an awesome accomplishment.👍🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸🤘
Unreal ...no words, ..unreal
Of course it had to be The Spider-Man 🕷️
I cannot imagine the feeling riding such a Hellbest of Motocycle.. Thanks for the Video, awsome RUN !
That bike is nothing compared to the EV version, it'll be able to do 400mph

Congratulations Larry... from Elmer's nephew... 👍 🏆 🏆 🏆
Love your channel, I raced Honda 750's with RC engineering 1000 kits in the 70's ended up with the cbx but just not of support back in the late 70's and early 80's for that motor especially when there was so much support for the four cylinders.
Jack, you may want to mention that it was excessively windy that day, hence the agreed 1000' with riders and NHRA.
Wondered why they only ran 1000’.
Thanks for that Ed. Was wondering... 👍
Probably for bikes it would be best to keep them at 1,000 ft..could you imagine the speed with that at a quarter mile. Damn that's fast he already has a record in a quarter mile at 268 makes you wonder if he would of beat that.
What a proud moment! Wow, that was great to watch and I know nothing about this sport. I can only wonder what going over 80 mph feels like. I feel shaky at that speed. LOL. Thanks.
Ya can't beat the smell of nitro & burning rubber in the air. not to mention that sound! 💪
Great filming Jack, you're doing a lot for the sport. Keep up the excellent work. Luv t/f bike..✌️
That was totally bad ass that take huge balls to go that fast on two wheels awesome!!😁
RESPECT mate! I am going absolutely cane my ride-on-mower this afternoon now! 🇬🇧🏆🇺🇲
I've had the pleasure of knowing Larry my entire life. He is truly a great man. Congratulations on another successful run.
The legend does it again! 🐐. There will Never be anybody as fast as this man again 🔥
Amazing run, I remember back in 1971 racing for Honda of Raleigh, I set a record in my class, D Altered with a 750 4 Honda 115 MPH in 12.10 sec. that was fun.
What an effort! Congrats Larry and team! So well deserved!
Those big balls have to be adjusted 😂. Congratulations 🏍️
-Spiderman is on a roll! 🤠
Keep on keeping on Larry you are amazing,Began following you with my friend Dave Wagner in Virginia Beach, still following now back in Ny
Absolutely amazing What an awesome run
Hey watch out! Here comes the Spider man....😎
Amazing Jack! Thank you.
WOW, I'd adjust more than my JEWELS! Thanks for showing. John P.
Perfect start , perfect balance, in a blink . Wow
Outta sight man! Congrats from canada
These nitro m/c pilots are the true kings of the sport. Much respect! 🤘
That’s crazy, great effort.
Spiderman ( and team ) do it again !!!! Thanks Jack , greatly appreciated.
And he makes it look easy!
I don’t know how to Ride but I absolutely love motorcycles
❤ Just love your comment 👍
Oh, the joy...I started riding in 1961 on a Cushman Eagle scooter, we could ride small stuff on the streets at 14. The British 650/750 twins and the HD Sportster were the performance bikes of the time, and we'd go down to the cycle center and drool over the hot new 250/305 Honda twins that were coming out...In 1969 the Honda CB750 came on the scene and the "Modern Motorcycle Era" began. It was an incredible time to be in love with motorcycles, although my passion was with the Norton Commandos, the best performing of the "Old Fashioned Bikes". I've had many bikes and rode through out the American west back when the traffic was much less and the cool places undeveloped. I hope you get some wheels and can get out and enjoy what's left, I would suggest staying away from cruisers and busy highways and get a "bike for a purpose" and enjoy the roads less traveled by, best wishes.
@@markmark2080 Oh wow bro that’s awesome man since 14 wow
It's never too late to start riding dude @@OSG79
Congrats from the Heath family 👍🏻👍🏻
Holy shit!!! That has to feel amazing!!!
- A fan! 👍
LARRY IS THE BEST AND THEN THERE'S ALL THE REST. That's from Willie from Darlington SC
Wow, what a show. All balls racing should give him a trophy and a sponsorship.👀🏍
Awesome thanks 🇺🇸
That motor sounds EVIL! Man that thing is hittin!
Duty takes balls of steel to do that
おめでとうございます🎉🎊㊗️🍾イヤホンで音量マックスで見ると最高の臨場感を味わえました!
Those things scare me to look at sideways, Great Job!
"Hey man, can you just hold on to this missile for a second while I light it off?"
I really miss seeing top fuel drag racing. The feeling and speed they go to is hard to describe and capture in video. This is pretty close though. Great job
Later.... Spider:" What year is this"
I wonder how many G forces that guy feels accelerating that quick. What a rush that must be.
well iv'e ran 9's on my kaw triple an you want to be holding on this is twice as fast almost so put super glue on your gloves 🤣
The ground is also feeling it from the engine sound lol. I got no doubt it would feel like the ground is sinking if you revved it up all the way
The G force is probably comparable to top fuel cars that pull in the 5 G range. Solid 4s for sure in my opinion. 60ft is probably less than a second... that is acceleration! Its a time distortion because keeping your mind in front of the action required to control these machines takes practice. if we were to jump on one of these even as a skilled drag racer you would find yourself in a place where you would soon realize you were not keeping up with where you were at. I don't know how else to explain it.
2.67 Gs
@@zintisp that's incredible.
Been to Larry's shop in Newport News. Great guy. Very tall as well
Cool 😎. Congratulations !
From a novice viewer who doesn't know much about these machines, let me say I appreciate the captions.
Wow, I might adjust them before as well! John P.
Awesome stuff
I got goosebumps looking at this motorbike, it's faster than the fastest car, crazy, really crazy❤
Thats insane God bless you Spider man
Larry- I freaking love you man! Not many people have the balls to straddle one of these beasts, and you do it for peanuts. But there is an entire nation watching you, and we all thank the God’s that you exist! Keep riding man! You’re da man!
The internet reaches far beyond just one country
😂This has me laughing as this situation has nothing to do with the Mr. Spiderman
That’s a legend 👊🏻✊🏻👍🏻
WOW, THERE REALLY MOVING! John P.
Congratulations on the world record !
When a guy like John Force respects you, that's more than enough for me😅
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL NHRA DRIVERS AND TEAMS.
Crazy having your belly hovering above the piston heads.
Fantastic 😎🇬🇧
How the hell do you not vaporize your hearing at these events? Those cars and bikes are totally insane. Awesome.
What a guy Larry is a nice guy to have been knowin him for years god bless him
Wow the grandstands were completely full standing room only. NHRA events like this have never been so popular
Incredible!!
Absolute insanity!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
With both of them numbers, it would have been a great heads-up race. Spider-Man had like 3 bikes on Vantine at the lounge
1000ft for Top Fuel Bikes now?? Or is this `` just`` the Record for the Distance??
They still run 1/4 mile.
I guess I’m wrong but the top fuel Harley’s still run 1/4
Because it is an nhra event nitro vehicles run 1000ft
Said they cut back to 1,000 feet because it was very windy .
@@mikeskidmore6754 So then it wouldn’t be a record just a really nice pass ?
IN 2022 I saw 61 year old Frenchman Eric Teboul break the rocket powered motorcycle 1/4 mile record at Santa Pod in England. It was his very last run before he retired and he put in some extra hydrogen peroxide. He finally go under 5 seconds after years of trying and recorded a 1/4 mile record @ 4.976 sec time with a top speed of 290.51 mph. A few years ago I saw Filippos Papafilppou 1/4 mile 5.662 sec at 246.74 mph. I didn't visit Santa Pod in 2023 due to a sudden illness, but Ill be back next weekend (25th May 2024) for the first time on a wheelchair!
I will never understand all this enthusiasm for a record set in a straight line....the beauty of cars and motorcycles are the curves...
I think it's the feeling of feeling like a damn human bullet😂
For some it’s that perfect chicane, for others it’s straight line acceleration, and still there are the occasional perfect launch and landing folk. The motorsport gods are many and accept offerings in all CC’s and every drivetrain. All hail F =ma! 🙏
Larrys sponsors are always happy
Oh my days. 😂 STB... welcome to happy TV🎉🎉 I love it .
0:22 damn, even the golf carts at Top Fuel sound beefy.
Wow! That is booking it!
That bike is a work of art
Just curious, did he back up the record, for the books? Making it official Incredible. Thanks much for sharing
That bike is worth a little bit more than my house! And can probably explain why it's slightly faster... ..way to go guys, and congratulations! 😊😅
Love the cb1100f paint scheme
I'd like to know the 60' time. They launch so darn hard!
Consistently around 1.00 second. But once that clutch locks up, look out - it's game on. That bike has run as quick as 5.50 and 268mph in the quarter mile.
Those are some big balls he's adjusting
That’s insane 😮
Looked like the UNDERTAKER walking out to the line😎
I bet that is a comfortable touring bike
That's fast .. Thanks for posting the stats.. did not know it was 1,000 feet until you posted that. The other bike was only 1/10 second and 11 mph slower.. Looks to me like the sheet metal on the wheelie bar will help to keep the bike straight .. It's a whole lot faster than E.J. Potter was with his 327 Chevy powered bike .
Faster than any nitro Harley too!
Dude is riding a literal rocket 🚀 🚀
Man award of 2023!! Wow
John force has been secretly replaced by Gary Busey, change my mind! Ask him about buttered sausage!
Unbelievable to say the least
I cannot even react that fast 😂
Excellent accomplishment. Sometimes, Jack you sound kinda' silly. CTFD
4 seconds+ and going 240MPH+ Is insane and it’s a motorcycle also… In a car the windshield adds the extra layer to make it feel less.
And in a car you are in a cage usually. Top fuel can hit mid 3s at 330+ mph in a 1/4 but that are caged. These guys are buts
They both did a good job 👍
😱😱😱💥👌....shit, he's just gone past my office windows!!!🏍😍🤣🤣🤣🤣
A real super hero. And an inspiration. Amazing. Pop -Matt”s Dad.
Got to love the nut adjustment on live tv.
Do they not have a kevlar cover over the cylinder head, I thought that was introduced a few years back
