We take you to the NHRA Carolina Nationals from ZMax Dragway where even John Force is fully impressed with what the world's fastest Top Fuel Bikes can do!

  • Did you see Larry do a balls adjustment right before the pass? It takes a lot of balls to do that, for sure! 👊😎

  • I remember in 1999 on the NHRA tour I watched Larry macbride from the top end of the quarter mile you would see the smoke come out of the pipes and about three seconds 3 seconds later you hear the sound. That's the only place I've ever seen top fuel motorcycle I've never had the chance to sit in the stands and watch as a spectator. I don't remember any venue where they actually made two full passes at the same time during the season when they were asked to race at the tracks with the main show. Edit::; now that I see for standing there during that season at heartland Park was one of the venues where McBride made a full pass single that same night at about midnight I was in the upper pitch on a pit bike and I had a beer in one hand and all of a sudden a guy comes walking out it's pitch-black my little Honda elite 250 I brought it down to a. Just in time front tire was barking"whew partner you almost got me"shut a black leather jacket and John Force he signed my Big sky electric ⚡ team shirt. It was a little past midnight. In the upper pro pits. Force took all of us stalkers out to Piggly wiggly the next day

    • About 2.3 g acceleration on average.

      @julesdomes6064@julesdomes60647 ай бұрын
    • distance = 1/2 times acceleration times time squared d = 1/2at^2 solving for a when d = 1000 ft and t = 4.829 seconds gives you 2.67 average accelertion over those whole time interval. So a little bit more than 2.3g Still.... wow. If Larry weighs 190 lbs that would make him feel like 507 lbs!@@julesdomes6064

    • Oh, the joy...I started riding in 1961 on a Cushman Eagle scooter, we could ride small stuff on the streets at 14. The British 650/750 twins and the HD Sportster were the performance bikes of the time, and we'd go down to the cycle center and drool over the hot new 250/305 Honda twins that were coming out...In 1969 the Honda CB750 came on the scene and the "Modern Motorcycle Era" began. It was an incredible time to be in love with motorcycles, although my passion was with the Norton Commandos, the best performing of the "Old Fashioned Bikes". I've had many bikes and rode through out the American west back when the traffic was much less and the cool places undeveloped. I hope you get some wheels and can get out and enjoy what's left, I would suggest staying away from cruisers and busy highways and get a "bike for a purpose" and enjoy the roads less traveled by, best wishes.

    • The G force is probably comparable to top fuel cars that pull in the 5 G range. Solid 4s for sure in my opinion. 60ft is probably less than a second... that is acceleration! Its a time distortion because keeping your mind in front of the action required to control these machines takes practice. if we were to jump on one of these even as a skilled drag racer you would find yourself in a place where you would soon realize you were not keeping up with where you were at. I don't know how else to explain it.

It was his very last run before he retired and he put in some extra hydrogen peroxide. He finally go under 5 seconds after years of trying and recorded a 1/4 mile record @ 4.976 sec time with a top speed of 290.51 mph.
